I've been playing tanks more lately since I haven't been feeling aircraft much (aside from RBing the Ho-229 which is currently my favorite thing).
I'm kicking myself for not spending more time in the KV-2. It's totally Stress Relief: The Tank with its 1.8 instances of malevolent giggling per minute.
(Also fun playing a tank where HE is consistently useful, since I'd previously only thought of HE rounds as worthwhile against unarmored targets.)
@TOGSolid
In the “Weapons of Victory” major update, we will be introducing a unique new vehicle - a multiple artillery rocket system! We have been working on these types of machines for quite a while and the first one will be the premium Callioppe Sherman which will join the second rank of U.S. ground forces tree.
I wonder just wonder if the German will get a half-track mounted "Katyusha" copy or some sort of towed Nebelwerfer or if they're left out of the rocket party.
Speaking of Nebel; where are my tank-launched smoke screens?
Also, generally not a fan of the Phly videos because he really should invest in preparation or scripts instead of rambling and wasting 15 minutes of my time, but I agree with his desires for more infantry running around as a realistic battle simulation (although that would probably be yet another thing low-specced computer wouldn't be able to display and potentially provide an advantage).

I know they mentioned the rating at some point, but the AA and artillery nests and some of the custom mission assets have 'loose' personnel. Then the open-topped vehicles also have them. I'd be fine with random infantry without gore or anything, just a bit more realism flair going around.

The few games I played last night (U.S. tier 2 - Arcade) the planes seemed unstable. I saw a lot of other pilots "spinning" out for, seemingly, no reason. I'll play more tonight to get a better feel.

Tried a realistic match in a Thunderbolt.
It has this thing where, when you're pulling up out of a dive, you'll freeze at about 10-15 degrees nose-down for a couple seconds before returning to regularly scheduled pitching. I had it happen at anywhere from 120mph to 300mph.
I don't recall playing the T-Bolt in Realistic before this patch, so I don't know if this is new behavior or is a quirk of the airframe?

Are the dice gods favoring me, or did the patch replace British 303s with chainsaw lasers in RB? Was playing a few Spit I matches while researching the FAA aircraft and the thing feels like a wand of instant death.
I played some games last night as Germany and US. I did not notice any control problems with the P-36 (Cobras), P-38 or F6F. The B-25 seemed a bit harder to turn, but that may be related to me not the plane. My FW-190's still seemed UFO-like (humblebrag? I didn't drop under 12 kills in any match).
Personal note: I don't know what's going on in my area but last night, as I was out walking, I swear I saw a P-51, 3 P-47's in close formation and (what I think was) a B-17 flying at under 1000m. To be fair, I live very close to a small local airport, and the P-51 was 100% landing. Hearing the engines made my patriotism well up a bit. The non-P-51's were flying toward the coast in a southward direction and I don't know of any airports in that direction.
Also I just unlocked the Beaufighter in tier 2 and had my first match with it.... I may have wept tears of joy. Went from chasing planes half way around the map emptying two full belts of ammo to take someone down to dropping planes by looking in their general direction. Had a 6 or 7 kill streak in like 2 minutes before getting caught by a quick pilot KO

I always find the beaufighter to be a double engined plane edged sword. If you get the drop on someone, that nose cannon just fucks their day up immediately. If they start turning even slightly my ability to keep my sights trained on them starts trending to zero.

Yeah I have learned that after a few more battles with it. Also that the wings may or may not be made out of wet toilet paper... still super fun to tear a few planes to shreds in the initial engagement though.
In the PvE mission 'Victory Hour' your main task is to destroy all armoured forces defending the Reichstag. Follow the waypoints and advance with full force!
Mission details:
“Victory hour” mission can be found in the “Events and tournaments” tab
Each player has access to the following tanks: Т-34-85 (D-5Т), Т-34-85, SU-100, IS-2 mod. 1944. You can start the mission using any tank except the IS-2 which will become available once you earn some Spawn Points.
Event will be available during weekend.
Up to 4 players can participate in the mission
To participate in the event you should have at least 1 vehicle of rank 4
Mission is not available at PlayStation4®
Number of sessions for the event is limited, which can lead to longer waiting times.
Yow, full-sized jet-tier match - as opposed to the usual 5v5 or so - where everyone on the team was actively coordinating. Calling out altitudes and directions, divvying up priorities to avoid AB-esque "everyone chase that one crippled bomber" derpchains, covering teammates' blind spots, giving engaged teammates headings towards help, the works.
It's amazing how one-sided those matches can get.
(Bonus points in that there were at least three languages on the team - most of it was done by macros or obvious shorthand.)

Alright, I downloaded this to give it a shot because I felt like playing something like Ace Combat and I don't own the Ace Combat game for PC
It was either this or World of Warplanes and this had a cooler name, so here we are
It seems neat, I guess? Except I don't understand anything about the progression or the systems in place or anything at all whatsoever
So I applied for the squadron/guild and maybe someone else knows what the hell is going on in this game

Yeah, that'll be where the money is at. I need the sound that thing makes in my life.
Katyushas are probably the one thing from the Second World War whose sound tops Jericho sirens for "great inconvenience is imminent."

The Corsair -1D, at least, is all kinds of fucked up.
Roll inverted, and pull, and your plane will wobble back and forth drunkenly as it maybe sorta does a half-loop.

I have not tried tanks yet.
Steam Me
Tried a realistic match in a Thunderbolt.
Anyone else see it?

So, german vehicles even worse, russian vehicles even better?

Personal note: I don't know what's going on in my area but last night, as I was out walking, I swear I saw a P-51, 3 P-47's in close formation and (what I think was) a B-17 flying at under 1000m. To be fair, I live very close to a small local airport, and the P-51 was 100% landing. Hearing the engines made my patriotism well up a bit. The non-P-51's were flying toward the coast in a southward direction and I don't know of any airports in that direction.
*fake edit*
The P-51 might be this one.

(I love that plane so much)

I always find the beaufighter to be a double engined plane edged sword. If you get the drop on someone, that nose cannon just fucks their day up immediately. If they start turning even slightly my ability to keep my sights trained on them starts trending to zero.

Yeah I have learned that after a few more battles with it. Also that the wings may or may not be made out of wet toilet paper... still super fun to tear a few planes to shreds in the initial engagement though.
In the PvE mission 'Victory Hour' your main task is to destroy all armoured forces defending the Reichstag. Follow the waypoints and advance with full force!

Up to 4 players can participate in the mission
To participate in the event you should have at least 1 vehicle of rank 4
Mission is not available at PlayStation4®
Number of sessions for the event is limited, which can lead to longer waiting times.
It's amazing how one-sided those matches can get.
(Bonus points in that there were at least three languages on the team - most of it was done by macros or obvious shorthand.)
It was either this or World of Warplanes and this had a cooler name, so here we are
It seems neat, I guess? Except I don't understand anything about the progression or the systems in place or anything at all whatsoever
So I applied for the squadron/guild and maybe someone else knows what the hell is going on in this game
