Another first for me, managed to successfully use Suicide King! Had a Cain run going, picked up Judas Shadow and thought "Why not?". Ended up with a great run (through outside of getting Infamy with the Suicide I doubt it really helped much).
Oddly, I got the Kidney Stone in that run, despite not having beat the Onan challenge. Weird.

I got BOI on my 3ds, and got through most of the game up to unlocking the lost before I succumbed to the impulse to purchase the whole deal with the newer updates through steam. My problem is that I am terrible with a full sized thumbstick after being so used to the minimal 3ds stick, are there any pc gamepads with a thumbstick more like the new 3ds stick out there?

Ugh, been working on finishing the post-it note with Lillith. I have the key and can fight Mega Satan, but I also picked up Dead Cat. I'm in the Chest and probably have 3 or 4 lives left after losing most of them in there. My damage is really low. It's probably not going to happen. I'll pick up where I left off tomorrow.

Hmm. I never use the thumbstick for BoI -- just the D-pad. Although when I get something like Ludovico Technique, Epic Fetus, or ???'s Only Friend, I'll use the right thumbstick to move it around.
I'm using an Xbox 360 controller which I've had for almost 10 years now.
Thumbstick is very important for movement. Being able to move in >8 directions does wonders for your dodging abilities.
I use the face buttons to fire, though.
I've just recently begun using the face buttons, makes it more difficult to hold charge on something like Tech X/Brimstone/etc. while changing directions though, at least for my fingers.

I don't have problems holding for charges, but often with Tech X I'll switch to the thumbstick because iirc charging doesn't affect the damage, just the size of it, so spamming it is better. And spamming with the face buttons leads to cramps, so flicking the stick quickly is usually easier.

I've just never felt comfortable using an analog stick for movement in most 2D games. It's a bit of a handicap, I guess, but I manage.
Well, 2x Steam Sale with a Glowing Hourglass in the shop means I no longer need to worry about donating (unless I'm going for a Mega Satan run), that's something at least.
Annoyingly I had a good run going with Cain through Boss rush to the Chest, but died to a double Monstro II room.
Arrg...playing vanilla Rebirth on the ps4 has been like Classic Dumb Mistake Theatre for me recently.
Last night, playing through Suicide King, i'd been doing pretty well avoiding killing myself. Stacked up almost every damage bonus available, and Devil Dealed into flight with Lord of the Pit. Blew through to Boss Rush, and decided just to take a peak, wasn't actually planning to do it.

My god, there's Pyromaniac. The run's right sewn up now, methinks. Breeze through Boss Rush, find out that getting hit with your own Ipecac, while running Pyromaniac, at the same time as getting hit by an enemy blocks the damage; which was good, 'cause i was on spirit hearts only.
So, get through that, Womb I is nothing, boss is double Loki in the long room with the patrolling spikes. No probs there, Item is Meat, and there's a Devil Deal. It's Mark, Guppy's Paw, and Dark Bum. The deals take me down to 1spirit heart, but hey, Meat and Guppy's Paw will bring me back to four, and i've left red hearts all over the map for DB, so i'll be set i figure.
...
And promptly forgot that the spike-blocks don't despawn after the Loki fight. One was right near the door as i left the Devil Deal, and that was the end of that. So much salt.
Saa...at least i got Isaac's Dark Side Post-It completed afterwards. i'd forgotten the slight sequence breaking that the Devil Deal after Mom's heart allowed (Blue Boy's Dark Side is finished as well).
[edit so as to not double post] Finally looked at the blog @SteevL mentioned before. Afterbirth+ will be coming to consoles as well (minus the mod support, which is fine 'cause i know less than nothing about modding). That is so sweet. Afterbirth should be out by the end of Feb. i wonder if localization is being done in tandem, or if i'll have to wait a bit longer.[/edit]

i think "red poop right behind a door in a room i've already been in" is my number 1 source of life loss in the womb
Similarly, I threw a Keeper boss rush by panicking at an Adversary/Mega Fatty wave spawn and panic-dodged (way farther than I needed to) riiiiiiight into the one red poop Carrion Queen got off (which I was aware of).

Champion mega fatty does not spawn in basement 1 when you have no upgrades at all.

Champion mega fatty does not spawn in basement 1 when you have no upgrades at all.
they're still a comparatively harder fight in caves 1 if you haven't rolled an amazing item in your first three floors

Started a new Lillith run after I lost that last one and got Tech X as my first item! Too bad I had to skip the next two or three items because they were crap.
Didn't get any damage upgrades, but Tech X still hurts enemies pretty nicely and I was able to kill Hush. I had a key ready for Mega Satan too, but I died in the Cathedral. I actually had picked up the Gnawed Leaf in Hush's level, but forgot about it because I didn't really have anything that would attack enemies while I stood still.
Oh well, at least I won't be in a rush with Lillith anymore.

Yoooo, I went back to Eternal Isaac and finally got to mom! And beat her!
And then went on to clear through Blue Baby!
Those eternal enemies (especially bosses) are really rough early on and you really have to abuse the no-health-cap thing to get through the later game bullet hells, but it was still fun to go back to the original Isaac and put out a good run. Took me about three tries to get a good Cain run rolling, mostly carried by Small Rock (which also was a tears up?) and Lord of the Pit, and eventually a 3rd level meatboy on Womb I. Oh yeah, and nun's habit + book of revelations, plus thorough bloodbank play.
And the hilarious thing was my key to a quick BB victory, which was three chest drops: Starting room Homing Bombs, Mr. Mega from Eternal Super Wrath, and then a Guppy's Tail chest giving Remote Detonator (sadly didn't become guppy, only got tail and head). Pushed like 8 Mr. Mega homing bombs into BB, detonated, and it did like 80% of his health.
Oh yeah, I also had the tick by accident out of a fortune teller. The mom fight gave me mom's purse along with the polaroid. Is that hard coded in now so the tick doesn't screw you out of the chest now?

For Rag Man, when he throws the head out, shoot the head. It damages him and counts against the spider's damage. So you can kill the head before it turns into a spider, or kill the spider quicker, while still making progress on the boss. Figuring that out made that guy a lot easier.

For Rag Man, when he throws the head out, shoot the head. It damages him and counts against the spider's damage. So you can kill the head before it turns into a spider, or kill the spider quicker, while still making progress on the boss. Figuring that out made that guy a lot easier.
Yeah. The worst bit is if you kill three spider heads close to each other, and he revives them all at the same time. It can get pretty rough. I usually don't dread fighting him though.
On the occasions when I get to the Chest and am not really overpowered, the 5-Ragman room can be pretty rough too. It gets filled with those spiders pretty quickly.

God damnit. I started a Lillith run with the intent to get to Mega Satan. I got Bumbo. Cool! But then I made the silly mistake of picking up Lil Brimstone in a devil deal, forgetting I can't get any angel rooms now.
Gotta hope for either a Get out of Jail Free Card or a sacrifice room and lots of hearts.
edit: Got a sacrifice room in Depths II! Unfortunately, I had curse of the unknown, but the item room had a Little C.H.A.D. and I knew I had 5 heart containers, so I was able to pull it off and get both key fragments. Theoretically it should be easy to get to Mega Satan now.
edit2: Success! Had a Charged Baby, and it dropped a few batteries during the Mega Satan fight. That made things pretty easy when combined with Box of Friends.
All that's left now, as far as post-its are concerned, is Isaac. Need to kill Hush and Mega Satan.

Wait what revives? I've never seen him revive spiders.
He seems to hit a cap of summoned spiders after a while, and start bringing back the ones you've splatted. Kind of annoying, cause you can't damage him by shooting them like you can when he rolls his head.

Postcards complete! I got a hell of a hush run.. was lagging behind, but managed to get a restock/steam sale / steam sale combo again. Unfortunately I hit that item that rerolls everything you get, but I was able to just POWER through to Hush.
On Hush, I was dropping 9 epic fetus missiles that were sending out bouncing laser beams with each hit, on top of everything else I had.
By the time I got to the Chest, I had only 3 items because so many of my items had been rerolled into Breakfast.
It looks like I just have 2 items left: Mega Blast and Godhead.

Managed to unlock Blinding Baby in Greed Mode tonight. That just leaves the 5 items I listed above and I'm "done" with the game outside of the dailies...although I haven't really been playing the dailies much lately either.
So...in my continuing adventures in completing all the post-its' dark sides before unlocking the Polaroid, i kinda accidentally beat Mega Satan.
Well...that's not entirely honest, i ran into the Angel Statues, and figured, why not? Having a low damage, low rate of fire Laz with only 3pretty flies, choc milk, and BBF to my name would have probably been a good reason. Actually died the first go at it (lost too many spirit hearts going to clear out the Lamb beforehand), but luckily had picked up an Ankh earlier in the run, so could give it another go as Blue Boy.
Did you know Megs will spawn Troll Bombs if you bore him for too long? Me neither! But he totally will![edit]Actually, that was a loose Pride, i guess.[/edit] Managed to kill him off in a stupidly protracted slog of a battle, though. There's no trophy for beating him on the ps, either, but at least the ending is knocked off the list for 100%'ing Rebirth.
Still have the Post-its' light sides, about half the Challenges, item collection, all the Lost stuff, and everyone's favourite Meat Boy/Bandage Girl left to do. Maybe i can get it all done before the end of next month, but i dunno...Disgaea 5's looking at me all moosey-faced, and i get LPB3 this Friday... Decisions, decisions.

Picked up Sworn Protector during a greed mode run. I had epic fetus, so every time I went into an angel room I'd obliterate the angel and then reroll so I'd have twice the chances at getting Sworn Protector. Glad it paid off!
For Zodiac, I just did the "hold R until you get an item room" thing. Also made use of Isaac's rerolls, which also paid off. Got it within 5 minutes!

Picked up Sworn Protector during a greed mode run. I had epic fetus, so every time I went into an angel room I'd obliterate the angel and then reroll so I'd have twice the chances at getting Sworn Protector. Glad it paid off!
For Zodiac, I just did the "hold R until you get an item room" thing. Also made use of Isaac's rerolls, which also paid off. Got it within 5 minutes!
