The starship for the new Star Trek series was shown off in a brief teaser clip which can be found in the box below. I'm guessing CBS will probably let Cryptic put it into the game to help promote the show.

Is it just me or does this ship remind anyone of some old starship designs? I could swear it looks a lot like the redesign the Enterprise would have gotten for the proposed Phase II series. Hard to tell where timeline-wise this show's set too by the look of the ship alone.

Do we really only have until august 24 to complete everything for the temporal recruits? I'll make it on the reputations and maybe admiralty if it ever lets me get the main fed missions. I'm worried about the doffs and the specialization points. I've only completed one spec and have two points into another. Anyone else in this boat?

AFAIK it's just until August 24th to get through the tutorial and make them. Basically until you get the temporal transponder. I can check but I am 99% sure that I can still do objectives on my Delta Recruit from last year and there's not been any indication that these would be different, unless I totally missed it!

Hi all it's been a while since I posted (2 or 3 years?). I have 2 Fed characters that are part of the fleet and I just started up again a couple of months ago in anticipation of AOY. Can I have my AOY character join the fleet? Do I have to move one of my other characters out?

Yep, no time limit on actually getting the rewards. I'm still working on my KDF Delta recruit, got a reward on him just before the temporal event started.

It's chronologically impossible to actually finish the reputation and admiralty rewards inside the event. Even if you hit level 50 on day 1, the timegate on reputations and the daily admiraly CXP cap will push you past the end of the event.

Sweet, thanks. I have 5 days left on all reps except the temporal which has 25 left. I think something is wrong with admiralty as I'm lvl 8 in everything yet only have 2/10 tour of duty missions done on the fed track, 5/10 on both the klingon and romulan. I just remember getting the tour of duty done faster.

  • HevachHevach Registered User regular
Tour of duty assignments are random. You can get them faster by burning skip points.

The next two "new" missions after your three available are always locked in at the bottom, but after that they're randomized as you clear them out.

My AoY character ([email protected]) is in at Captain rank and has already contributed dil, boffs, etc. :)
A question regarding fleet stuff. I want to get the fleet trait slots open, the fleet doff slots open, the fleet Nautilus, as well as some consoles. Is that still doable? I've been out of it so long I don't even know what is necessary except for fleet module and fleet marks.

The trait slots we don't have unlocked yet (they are tied to the last levels of the research lab, which is getting there) but the other stuff should be purchasable if the provisioning is there (and it should be I think?). Things like doff slots you should be able to just buy from the right holding (I think they are from the embassy?) without provisioning though. A catch might be rank required for purchases, but I don't know about that stuff.

I've tried to keep the provisioning projects available for folks to contribute to. Unfortunately, I've been devoting all my resources towards trying to finish up the research lab, so I'm too tapped out to donate anything to the provisioning.

I will donate as much as I can but I've run out of white doffs that are needed at the moment on my AOY character and I need to reserve some of my dil for upgrades and the like. I'll strip relevant white doffs off my other two characters.

If you have fleet credits, you can also requisition doffs at the Fleet Starbase. It's way less expensive than getting them via the auction house or through duty officer packs.

  • WolfeborneWolfeborne Registered User regular
I thought you couldn't use fleet requisitioned doffs for projects.

  • SnicketysnickSnicketysnick The Greatest Hype Man in WesterosRegistered User regular
You most definitely can. It's a slight fleet credit loss on each but they are 100% submitable to projects.

I started an Agents of Yesterday character a couple weeks back, I'm just wondering if there's more to it than just some TOS styled ships (that I have to buy) and a new blinky to hunt down in the missions.
Are there new missions or arcs eventually?
Are the new ships worth the cost? I mean, I've got quite a bit of their funbucks from getting a life time account back when the game was announced, but that's a sizeable chunk of funbucks to buy the temporal pack for all the ships.

There are about 4 or 5 new time related missions scattered throughout the rest of the episodes, but they are playable by any characters, not just AoY ones. The main draw of a AoY character is that they can unlock some pretty nice bonuses across your account like new starship traits, a permanent Admiralty XP bonus and tastiest of all, all future Reputation project gear (ie sets) start at MK13 ultra rare, rather than MK12 Very Rare, which saves a whole load of time and resources if you want to level them up.

You can see all the reward stuff by looking at the Transponder thing in your inventory if you've missed that btw.
    *e*
aha here's a very good breakdown of the character Vs account rewards http://sto.gamepedia.com/Temporal_Agent_Recruitment#Temporal_Agent_and_account_rewards

I can't speak to the ships being any good as I'm still very happy with my T6 Odysseys.

The temporal ships lower than T6 aren't bad. They're reasonably functional, and their ability to do an occasional bit of raw physical damage to a target is rather nice, especially when it comes to taking down dreadnoughts and such. The T6 ships are quite good, though the temporal raider has a surprisingly small number of bridge officer seats. Admittedly, I haven't really tried running with a temporal bridge officer yet, so I can't speak to how well the various temporal tricks work I'm afraid.

  • PreacherPreacher Registered User regular
I have a temp officer on my kelvin using two of the abilities they seem nice, though the Kelvin only has a lieutenant temp officer spot so I don't have access to the bigger bangs.

Some of the ground abilities from Temp Specialisation are great fun. There's one that works like gravity well, but it explodes at the end which is aces when combined with grenades etc.

So I made the mistake(?) of starting to play this. Duoing 23c duders with a friend, started a klingon on the side for when he's not around.

Seems decent enough, though there's bunches I have no clue about. Are there any super neat fleet things I should be looking into, or is that mostly for when you hit level cap?

Fleet equipment can be expensive, so I'd definitely recommend waiting to hit 60 before you invest in that stuff. Off hand though, the fleet tactical consoles are very very nice, and probably the only thing you'd definitely want from the fleet - even then it might depend on how much you're focused on using weaponry vs. science tricks like gravity wells and such. The only other thing you might want are fleet versions of certain types of ships, but that depends on the kind of ship you prefer to use.

If you happen to be using the research and development stuff to increase the quality of your equipment, one thing I can suggest is to start upgrading them from as low a grade as possible. It takes way fewer tech points to increase the quality of an item at lower grade, and increasing the grade itself isn't terribly expensive.

If you need a fleet invite feel free to message me at @hermetic and I'll happily send you an invite if I'm on, or if there isn't already someone available to invite you.

Hmm, I'm already in a fleet from aforementioned friend, but not exactly tied to it in a meaningful way. That being said, the fleet has everything capped but the starbase, which is at IVs out of V. How are the PA fleet holdings?

Minor fun stuff for console people on release.

Free stuff if you play within a bit of launch, nothing major, but the ships are cute.

God the stats on those ships are insane. The Connie is a 5/3 11.5 turn cruiser with three LtcComm seats alongside its Temporal/Engineering Commander seat.

    http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10132793-r&d-pack-promotion-ship-stats

I mean, sure they are going to be super expensive so it's got to justify the cost (I guess??) but I would've thought that a T6 connie with the classic looks would more than do that on its own for the audience that's been asking for one.

So, what do I actually use Marks for? I've been cashing in the temporal markers for temporal marks, but don't have any idea what they're actually used for.
Also, just starting the Romulan missions, and have already made Admiral. Seems you get XP way too quickly anymore.

  • WolfeborneWolfeborne Registered User regular
Use the marks for reputation that you start building at lvl 50. I would say use them for marks that are harder and slower to earn. I used mine for iconian because I new at the end I needed 2800 for the four piece space set.

I screwed up and bought a bunch of R & D packs with nothing to show for it. The drop rate might actually be worse than lock boxes.
