One of my sillier character concepts was/is an Andorian raised on Earth - Jamaica, to be precise. Accent, the whole thing. He's never even seen snow, except on vacations and the holodeck.

Hmm now, do I go for a rando lockbox ship that I probably can't actually trade around even though its "bound to account", some lobi for a single char ship or 2t6 tokens...
honestly, even though it's the "wrong" choice I'm probably going to get the t6s, there's still a couple of solid traits I dont have yet
Yeah if you already have ships you like then there is no reason not to further enhance those ships. I thought about getting the Atlas for the temporal recruit rerun buuut I already have the NX refit and 2 different Constitution versions I can use for that theme. The T6 coupons may be the "wrong" choice but they're still the best value of all the rewards IMO since you get them for your whole account.
If you're at all unsure (as I am, still), here's a tip from Reddit:
After you claim the "choose your reward" box, but before you open it, copy that character to the Test Server (Tribble) as many times as you like, and try out your options.
It's one of the smallest ships with the dreadnought monicker. Saucer about the diameter of a non-Kelvin Constitution but thicker at the edges with less slope. Similar overall length to a Connie, quite a bit shorter than a Crossfield.

I decided to look at c-store traits that are considered pretty good but I don't have yet. It turned out to be exactly 2 (Promise of Ferocity, History Will Remember). So that is a no-brainer for me as far as event campaign rewards go!
As a bonus, the Andorian ship apparently also unlocks blue phasers? That sounds like a great fit for a TOS theme that doesn't involve that ear-piercing 23c noise or using tetryon and pretending.

Does the not-T6 Enterprise make that noise? Got my sound muted, so kind of curious.
ETA: also finally starting to hit T6 reps. Not looking forward to doing that again, though at least it’ll take half as long.
Actually really enjoying the TOS “Agents of Yesterday” opener. It’s sensibly written, if a bit campy, and the whole setup captures both the atmosphere and aesthetic of TOS really well. Also, finally got to use my Enterprise C-Store ship!
In other news, I got my first fleet module.
Now I just have to brute force 26 more Fleet projects to get the starbase shipyard to L5 so I can use it!
Sigh.
ETA: I once again misread the calendar and started my character a day early. So now I can restart the TOS tutorial again. Gah!
At least now you'll notice any differences in the cutscenes and the like after the patch.
EDIT: Sale on TOS and Temporal stuff starting today once the servers are up. Also a pair of special ship museums will be up over at ESD and DS9. Checking out all the ships will grant a title.
Sorry for the double-post but does anyone know how good the various Temporal ships are? I was eying that Starter Pack that comes with the Paladin Battlecruiser and I was wondering if it was worth flying. Especially since at the moment I can get it's TOS skin for free.
The triple pack of the Temporal Raider, Temporal Multi-Mission and Temporal Dreadnaught Cruiser is very good, all three ships are excellent.
I don't have hands-on experience with the others though
I got the Temporal Starter Pack ages ago, and the Paladin is hands down my favourite ship to fly. Handles like a cow (but not as bad as a dreadnought!), but it packs a wallop, is very durable, has a fun special ability-slash-temporal seating.
And the extra gubbins you get with the starter are nice, as I recall.
Not sure about the larger pack, but I’ve gotten a lot of mileage for my money out of the starter pack.
ETA: looks like they froze purchase of the other headline bundle because of issues? Huh. Someone convince me to burn 6k zen…
The TOS tutorial revamp is great - 3 klingons just chilling in the middle of the hallway before even getting on the shuttle while random crewmen walk around like normal. Also Tarsi is a goldshirt now for some reason?

I’m pretty sure she was when I accidentally ran half the arc yesterday, too.
(I didn’t see the Klingons on rerun, though there was one loitering yesterday too, figure the AI is just wonky).
Honestly can’t tell what they changed in the three episodes I reran tonight.
First Lower Decks ship is... That one from the background of one episode. Still, the Parliament-class isn't ugly.
Also coming are uniforms (the lower decks uniforms were makable with one of the Jupiter variants, but the Orville-style shoulder bars for admirals are at least new) and weapons.
Oh, and it's all in the Infinity Lockbox because fuck you that's why.
There's a countdown in the launcher pointing at Tuesday morning, based on the recent lore blog this appears to be related to a new STF involving the prime-era Terran Empire.
Just got my Temporal Agent to ESD-prime, and remembered that my main has a lot of free ship slots and inventory slots and suchlike.
And my recruit does...not.
This is deeply painful.
At this point, every time I see a new lockbox ship I just shrug and forget it exists. I'm perfectly happy to buy cool c-store ships with Zen (rare as they are these days) but I'm not going to drop said Zen on keys for a loot crate with absurdly low drop rates of anything good.

Yeah, I've picked up a fuckton of slots on my main from various giveaways. I'm actually *past* the maximum inventory and bank slots because of the particular retailer exclusive bonus I got way back at launch which gave 4 of each and never counted against the cap. It's sad logging into an alt and having to actually manage my inventory instead of just once a month or so realizing it's out of control and throwing a bunch of shit down the replicator.

In good news, I had forgotten that you get a ship slot for each promotion. So things aren't quite as bad as I thought.
Mostly.
The inventory still suuuuuucks though.
I finished the TOS stuff and I really can't tell what was changed in cutscenes aside from Spock's location at the start and bridge officers having 25c weapons out at every opportunity. So in that regard it actually feels a little worse than before.
And it's free, which is nice after what they did with the Parliament-class.
They're being unusually quiet about tomorrow's content drop. So far they've only given us a lore story in which Mirror Leeta (who has apparently defected?) and Prime Quinn discuss a commando raid on Mirror ESD, with Leeta's plan involving exocomp suicide bombers, a hit squad taking out Mirror Quinn, and blowing the reactors to kill everyone on board, and Quinn's plan not being batshit insane. A tiny blurb at the bottom of the blog says that Operation Wolf will be a new STF.
Ground version of the elite ship upgrade, +1 space trait, +1 ground trait, +1 kit module, +1 device slot. 1500 zen, compared to 1000 for the ship version, but that kind of makes sense since this is a one-and-done upgrade and the ship version needs to be repeated any time you switch ships if you want to keep all the power creep.
Ooooooooook everyone, I think there was a miscommunication because I though a blog was gonna go live today but it didn't. So in the mean time, here's a fun teaser of what's in store.
They took it down because it wasn't supposed to be up until tomorrow. However it's mirrored a few places, like this: https://streamable.com/56ygmh
The Constitution appears to be another new variant, probably a SNW version. Everything else is current era, though, the Connie is probably going to be the next lockbox (since the Lower Decks ship got shunted straight to the infinity box) because we don't have enough of the damn things yet. Since it keeps appearing and is usually seen either winning a fight it's probably the designated "player ship" for the trailer.
Some notable things, though:
New Terran EV suit.
New Mirror Odyssey uniforms with new badges and all kinds of random knives and pockets and bits and bobs stuck on.
Mirror Kuumaarke. Makes sense since the event ship has a bunch of protomatter themed stuff.
Mirror ESD being way more subtle about it than Picard S2.
A new exploration cruiser variant (getting wasted by the SNW Connie we keep seeing)
Ground battle against a runabout, looks way more intense than the fight against the Scorpion in Cutting the Cord.
Also prominently features five random who-the-fucks including an admiral and four commanders of various departments and races with over-greebled uniforms, and at least one non-faction-standard weapon, leading to widespread hype that Reflections will feature the player's mirror self, which is as awesome as it is probably not happening.
So I'm not sure but I seem to be suffering some sort of bug in which I'm not able to have both a starship and small craft ready at the same time. I just finished the Klingon War set of missions if that helps. It was fine before but now it's one or the other.

Can't go wrong with Andorian or Tellarite.

End of the TOS episodes, then talk to the Temporal Agent at Earth Spacedock in The Future to get your transponder thingy. Took me a couple of hours

My last slot was filled by a misc Security look, because I hadn’t commissioned enough BOFF’s for a full away team yet.
Game didn’t apply holoemitter to the mook. Do you’ve got four Klingons and a TOS redshirt running around a Klingon fortress planet.
“The targs won’t be fooled, but you should be undetectable to everyone else” …hmmmm, you think? Going to glaze over the Starfleet goon are they?
