Party for a Gamer in Boston

ronin78ronin78 Registered User new member
Hi all,

I am planning a bachelor party for my brother in Boston in late April next year. He is a lifelong lover of video games, so I would like to do a gaming-themed event. I was hoping that his wedding date and PAX East would end up coinciding so we could go to that, but it was not to be.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good gaming venue in Boston, or know of a service that would be able to provide consoles, screens, etc. if I reserved a more generic venue? I am open to ideas, if there is something particularly innovative out there.

Thanks in advance!

If you're willing to go on the road, you can hit Funspot in NH, then get drunk in a lake house. We did that for my buddy, worked great.

I agree with everything Schuss said, and would like to add no one ever went wrong with a stripper that goes from Zelda to Laura Croft to Jill Valentine with each garment removal.

It's also possible that second thing doesn't exist.

If you have to have strippers, just continue northward to Montreal. Lakes Region NH strippers are probably ehhhhhhh

Pinball Wizard Arcade in Pelham, NH is quite a bit closer to Boston. I don't think it has the same breadth of stuff that Funspot has but it's a pretty comprehensive arcade. Depending on your brother's age (does he remember mid-80's to early 90's arcades?) I could see a fun Bachelor party starting midday up there for a couple hours of old timey arcade playing and then heading back into Boston for more traditional Bachelor party type activities.

Thanks guys, great suggestions. I will consider both Funspot and the Pinball Wizard as venues (depending on how far we want to drive, what else we want to do, etc.). 80s/90s style arcades are definitely up our alley.

ANTVGM64, interesting idea for a niche market. Kickstarter?

I second Pinball Wizard. They have a function room out back. They also had gamer nights where folks did bring in consoles for some tournaments.

Funspot in NH would be another good choice too. It's just a little further.
