Something I didn't know until today is that you can still play as Mii Fighters when customization is turned off. I guess they just use the custom movesets created for them, but don't have any stat boosts or abilities from equipment.

No, apparently it is whatever custom moveset you set up for that specific Mii Fighter. The only customization that does not apply is equipment.

My prediction is that the 3DS version will review well (with the main complaints being controls and screen size), while the Wii U version reviews much better when it comes out.

We've all played the demo, and folks have been streaming the Japanese version on Twitch at all hours. There are no surprises left in this game.

All a review is going to tell us at this point is if a specific reviewer enjoys Smash, and TBH, who cares?

Reviewing a game like Smash just seems like an exercise in futility. Barring some MASSIVE bug or something, the number of people you're going to influence is so tiny. The hype train has been running for a solid year, and people have long made up their minds on whether or not they care about the game.

IGN review is an 8.8, with the major complaints being the difficulty tracking characters in four player matches and Smash Run not being that fun because you're not told beforehand what random competition it will be (ie you got a bunch of power boosts and the post-run event is a race).

More importantly: video proof that Shulk has "I'm really feeling it!" as a taunt.

I recall there being a "leak" that mentioned a Game & Wario stage for the Wii U version. However, since G&W is the latest Wario game, it wouldn't be difficult to guess it's inclusion.

From the reviews I've read, everyone seems to love the huge amount of modes, and they've said the characters seem more balanced than in Brawl. But they've also noticed frequent multiplayer lag. Not always, and usually just half a second, but it's there. Dangit.
