So, is the general consensus with Fantasy Life to get the DLC ASAP?
Been playing the everlivingcrap out of Rune Factory 4 lately with the goal of finishing it before FL comes out this Friday. I don't think that's going to happen, though. 80 hours in, and this game doesn't appear to be running out of story and content anytime soon. What a gem. (And so glad our PAL buds may finally be getting it!)

Well, get it early if the people you'll be playing with are getting it. As for actual content: it adds very minor things to the main campaign, and a boatload of postgame...so you'll want it eventually.
If I'm not mistaken, the DLC also causes your companions to level up the longer they're in your party. So if you really want to go exploring with your pet, it might be worth getting earlier.
You’ll also get a [demo code for OR/AS] with your purchase of one of two classic Pokémon games coming to the Virtual Console service on Nintendo eShop: the Pokémon Puzzle Challenge game (out Nov. 6) or the Pokémon Trading Card Game (out Nov. 13). You'll find your free demo code on your eShop receipt (download codes available while supplies last).
I'm wondering what kind of SD card I should get for a New 3DS when that comes out. I bought a generic SD card for my 3DS back when Monster Hunter 3 came out, and boy does that particular game take forever to load and save. Do certain cards load a lot faster than others? I heard that first-party cards are architecturally optimized, but a guy I knew said that all cards should work similarly. However, he's talked out of his ass in the past, so I'm I have some doubts

Also, bunch of new hairstyles.
Companions level super quickly (I'm almost sure you can tape a button down to have your character run in circles and they'll just keep leveling).
Also: you can cut your hair in-game, so if you buy the DLC later you can just cut your hair to incorporate a new style.

So in the prologue of Layton vs Wright, the defendant is on trial for theft and assault.
Except it should be theft and battery.
There seemed to be very little assault in the testimony.
(Assault is putting the fear of imminent danger at someone, like if I ran at you with a knife screaming I would kill you then stopped and laughed. That's assault. Battery is, well, what you hit someone and cause grievous bodily harm. Take that, translator!)
You're thinking of the tort definition of assault. Criminal assault is different in many jurisdictions.
No, the criminal definition of assault is fairly universal. As is battery. It's why they go hand in hand so often.
I have no idea of a common law jurisdiction wherein assault is not defined by creating the fear of battery (in essence) and battery is the actual harming. I learned the distinction in criminal law and have read the criminal code for it in my jurisdiction at least.

It also goes back to one of my favorite fun facts about the law.
Ok, so forging a check is a felony.
Burglary is defined as breaking and entering for the purposes of committing a felony.
So if you broke into my house and forged a check, BAM burglary.

According to New York Penal Law Section 120.00,
A person is guilty of assault in the third degree when:
1. With intent to cause physical injury to another person, he causes
such injury to such person or to a third person; or
2. He recklessly causes physical injury to another person; or
3. With criminal negligence, he causes physical injury to another
person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument.
Assault in the third degree is a class A misdemeanor.

I stand corrected. Menacing is the correct term in those jurisdictions.

What if I break into a police officer's home, forge a check, then when he comes through the front door I throw a battery full of salt at him?
How'd you find out about that?
... I mean.... umm... carry on.

Burglary, fraud, assault in the (depends on jurisdiction) degree, menacing, and probably murder in the first degree because of the fucking contusion you just gave a police officer.

God, you should have added that it was his house boat if you wanted it to be mindfuck.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that for it to be burglary it HAS to be a domicile or residence,

I just played them and... I'm really unimpressed. Lets set aside the GBC game, which hopefully noone will try to salvage. The good one is Risky's Revenge and it is an ok Metroidvania game, but ultimately I find the gameplay to be rather dull. Shantae as a character is just not fun to play and the game has a whole of 3 dungeons, 1 of which is just a timerace.
I mean, sure, bring on sequels, but as far as I'm concerned Shantae has yet to proof itself as truly fun franchise.
Edit: And just to proof my point, anyone notice how in the new trailer gameplay is twice as fast? I wonder if the game is sped up, or just the trailer!

Is Pirate's Curse coming out for the Wii U as well, or is that the other Shantae game that's coming out?
I might dig up my old DSi and finally transfer all it's digital games to my 3DS, and see if I still have a balance in the DSiWare shop.
Yes, though it doesn't look like it will be higher res or anything, so the 3DS version will probably be better.
And Shantae GBC is fantastic. Risky's Revenge is better from a pure gameplay perspective but I agree, a bit too short. However it was a cheap $15 eShop title so not surprising it isn't as robust as Shantae GBC
Natsume has been teasing Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley’s European release for quite some time. However, a concrete announcement was finally announced today.
Bergsala Lightweight will be handling publishing duties for Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley in Europe, where it will launch in Q1 2015. More details “will be disclosed in due course.”
I have wanted wanted this game so badly since I first heard about it. It's almost here and I can barely wait. I'm just going to download it as the cart would probably weld itself into my 3DS.

Sure, but within that, are there any performance considerations?
yes, there are speed rating for sd cards. so might as well buy one of the higher class cards just to be sure your getting as fast loads as possible.

Well they're all playable on the 3DS, so there's no excuse.

Yeah, sorry, not gonna happen. People will make sure you regret saying that, let's be honest.
I'd be genuinely surprised...

Nothing wrong with your 3DS, the framerate for Senran Kagura Burst on 3DS is terrible. Still perfectly playable, but yeah. Poor framerate.

Jeez, what is it with beat em' ups on the 3DS and poor framerate? Code of Princess had the same problem.

I feel like if these games were 90s SNES/Genesis releases, there'd already be a Shantae cartoon on Saturday mornings.
With those female characters, probably Adult Swim.
