I'm not sure if it's because I've got the wrong screwdriver or because I'm simply an idiot but I can't seem to remove the screws on the back of my new system.
Wow, everyone that was scalped on ebay got the middle finger from Nintendo today.
Clarification please?
There is a bundle up on gamestop with Majoras Mask 3ds XL and limited edition (read: no ultimate) available for online order only.
Many people scalped both the LE and the MM New 3ds for big money, and now anyone can buy it.
Is there anything to suggest it won't sell out like the previous ones did? Otherwise good move, Nintendo. If not, then Nintendo just fed the scalpers some more.
I'm holding because as much as I love my 3DS, I just don't use it that much. My wife and I bought a set of XLs instead of buying a WiiU and then ended up being kind of disappointed with the amount of games we wanted and buying a WiiU 6 months later anyway.
I should buy more games for it, honestly.
And were you then disappointed with the amount of games on WiiU? =p
EDIT - I say that sort of in jest now because in my mind I always think WiiU doesn' have any games, then I look at my library of WiiU games and I realize I have a fair many, and there's several I want that I've yet to get (such as Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, and Wind Waker).
That was the opinion for so long, but the small shelf I set aside for WiiU games is already overflowing. You may not be able to buy 20+ Nintendo games a year, but you sure as hell can buy more than I have time to play in a year.
Edit: Friendly tone, honest

Went down to Fred Meyer's and they got 0 MM systems in, so picked up a black one. They had the 1 black one and 2 reds, but that was it. Drove by Target before it opened just to look and there was a line outside of probably 20 people. It was crazy, didn't bother stopping to ask how many MM systems they actually had, I'm happy with the way the black one looks anyway. Doing my system transfer now!

I didn't take it as anything but friendly =p
Cool, I literally walked out the door after I hit post, so I worried I came off as "DONT INSULT MY PRECIOUS WIIU"
I'm not huge into RPGs or Strategy games, so that's part of the reason the 3DS/DS library isn't the best for me. Most recommended lists come heavily filled with those.

That's because they don't? Do they turn? Just loose 'em a bit, then you can pop the backplate off. They'll stay on the backplate. At least they do on the non-XL model.

Finally did it. That was scary and I constantly felt like I was breaking something.

Yeah, I watched a video of it and noticed that too, thankfully.
Switching SD cards is not something you do all that often (or at least I don't) but it still's a bit of a hassle, imo.
My MMN3DS order on Target switched from Processing, to Backordered, to On Hold, and back to Backordered (only visible on the mobile site). I don't like any of that
I'm glad some more of you guys were able to get your ugly black and gold 3DS systems. Hopefully you can find a nice vomit-green case to keep it in when you're not playing it.

I like that your forum pic is black and orange with vomit-green lenses.
Went to pick up my new 3ds preorder from gamestop and use a $10 rewards certificate to get majora's mask at best buy. Gamestop had a decent line with almost everyone getting the new 3DS.
Gamestop employees were telling everyone about how you can take it home to do the transfer like what was mentioned before. But they stressed that you have to come back with the trade in today before closing for the advertised credit values. They were also reminding everyone that the new 3DS doesn't come with an AC adapter, which surprised a lot of people in line.
Best buy had a big stack each of both Monster Hunter and Majora's Mask on the shelves so no problems there.
So I'm pretty sure my Target order for the special edition is a sham, so I'm abandoning hope and looking at stores in my area to pick up a regular model, but it looks like everywhere is out of stock? Is the stock just not updated, or is this thing genuinely sold out in many places?

Lots of people are reporting the stores they checked only had about 10 n3DSes after combining all the colors.

When I went to Best Buy it there weren't any on the sales floor, just a sign on the shelf saying to go to the registers for the New 3DS. When I payed for Majora's Mask I can see they have a cage up front with various consoles and games. There was a decent amount of red and black new 3DS's.
It sold out at fred meyers, but they only got like 5. Best Buy seems the best bet if you have that in your area. You can order online and pick up in store.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
@McFlynn - no worries, I too loooove my WiiU. I'm so fond of the gamepad I can't even tell you.
And at first I found it odd you didn't thin DS/3ds had a lot off games, then my very thought was "he must not like RPGs." =p
A friend and I both picked up our n3DS a little while ago from Gamestop. Had to system update the n3DS, and then ran into an error starting the system transfer app on the n3DS. Turns out you have to set your location before it will let you do a system transfer. Got that done and everything else went smooth. Participated in a nice Amiibo conspiracy theory conversation with other people waiting in line.
I really like the improvements. Menus are snappy now. Active 3D works great even while wearing glasses.
I don't like where the stylus is now and I'm really really tired of SUPER MEGA GLOSSY FINGERPRINT HELL FINISH on tech toys.

I love Chrono Trigger and Paper Mario. But thats about it. I need like, 1 RPG per system. Tops.

Yeah. It's not showing as in-stock for me.

Fuck that noise. (Granted it's 3rd party but still, fuck it)
I paid 230€ for the limited edition (which comes with the game here), which is about 260$.

The bad news is that I had to invoke a fucking blood ritual to transfer my data. Jesus H.
"...only mights and maybes."

I got silver and blue.

But for some reason 1st person party-based RPGs just annoy the hell out of me.
You can just try the demos and see how you feel after.

Of course, I now have MH4 and my n3ds stashed in my car, and I'm sitting in the chair at the damn dentist.
Yeesh. That's double torture.
I'm here all day folks tip your waitress, but just the tip.
