Ground Zeroes was cross-gen and that shit was god-tier for a 360 game and god-tier for a maxed-out PC game, so I don't think we're missing out on too much from it being on 2 extra consoles
I think my favorite moment is the sniper-richochet sleep grenade. Really impressed by the breadth of options presented in the video. Can't wait to attach C4 to the ass of every Russian militant.

Personally I am crazy pumped about a little detail I noticed; The blast arm is upgraded up to rank 6. That's right. More than 5 ranks of upgrades for items. Considering how wild Peace Walker got, the prospect fills me with unholy joy.
I could be running around with a silenced Mosin Nagant that can also fire BEES. Delightful.
the japanese voice over is so much better because i know thats snake too and there were little moments where i think he was talking in-character, at least that's what it sounded like to me but i don't know japanese.

I pretty much lost it when he half shouted "NIKATA", the horse noises just cemented that he loves the game/attention. The English voice version just sounds totally uninterested.

Ah, that's a bit unfair, though - that guy's been narrating demos since the Gamescom stuff way back when. He did sound more peppy in the E3 2015 demo, though!
So I ordered the Legacy Collection off Amazon and it just arrived.
It's just the standard PS3 case. I know I saw it in a slipcover when it was in stores.
If I open this, is the artbook and extra stuff in here? Or was that part of the slipcase thing and they didn't sell me the full Legacy Collection?

Yeah, the artbook is like half the thickness of a bluray case, it fits inside the slipcover behind the game. See if you can return it and find the full package from another seller.
edit: I will say, though, that it's less an artbook and more a catalog documenting all the posters and packaging from the games throughout the years. Still a decent collector's item, and the cover is a neat embossed piece of shinkawa art, but if you're wanting something that's just pure artwork there are more substantial standalone mgs artbooks out there.
also I believe the digital vouchers and such should be in the case
I own MGS1 and 4 already and was just buying it to replay 3 and Peace Walker before MGSV comes out. I was gonna just go with the HD collection but then figured for the extra goodies it was worth a couple extra bucks.
I guess I'll return it and just get the HD Collection, as Amazon doesn't seem to do anything to promise you're getting the full Legacy Collection.

I'm guessing she communicates through hums and whistles because her tongue's been cut out. I have no real reason to think this, but we've never heard her speak and Kojima surely thinks we'd all be shocked and appalled by it.

Between the last few videos and finally picking up Ground Zeroes from the Steam sale, I'm convinced that MGSV is the Deus Ex game I've been waiting for. At least if the levels in the final product are anywhere near as open as the GZ map.
Flying robot arms, nanomachines and a batty but intriguing plotline also help.
I would not mind a MGV CE. Hopefully, some will free up before the release date.
That's what I'm hoping. The word I've heard is that some will be available later this month/beginning of august. I'm gonna be camping out on that Amazon page until I can pre-order one. I really want all the physicals included with it. Gonna get a frame and mount the map on my wall, and use the hand as a PS4 controller stand.

As huge an MGS fan as I am, I'm not interested in the CE for this at all. The statue hand does nothing for me. If I could get the artbook n' maybe a nice slipcase for it, sure I'd pay an extra £10 for that. That statue is just so lame tho. :I

I just want the steelbook, which has only been available separately at a couple EU stores so far (Shopto and Amazon Germany, I think). Someone on GAF asked a Konami EU rep about it and he said to keep an eye open over the next couple of weeks, so hopefully it'll be available here too.

There is confirmation she has alt costumes, but I don't think we've seen em yet. Hoping for fatigues or a sneaking suit...

Presumably it's like BIG BOSS in that whatever outfit BIG BOSS is wearing is kept during cutscenes. All of the cutscenes are in-engine and use the model you were using, hence why them jurnalurns what played the metal gears kept mentioning the shower at mother base. If you're super bloodied up, you'll be super bloodied up in cutscenes. Considering they've shown a "NAKED" option for Quiet, I can only presume that everything else is more clothes.
I merely hope it's not some sort of gothic lolita maid outfit. Or some such nonsense. Like... Like an alt costume is a schoolgirl outfit. Or a SEXY METAL GEAR REX COSTUME okay I'm with it Kojima. If only to have a model base for my own Sexy REX costume.

I'm absolutely betting she's related to those enhanced Patriot solders we see in the trailers. They also seem to have the same smoke teleportation powers and freakish movement speed. An escapee, or sleeper.
Or she's what they're based off of. I mean, in MGS4, they talk about how the beauty and the beast corps has kinda replaced bosses like THE END or PSYCHO MANTIS. Nanomachines and technology supplanting the more spiritual, esoteric empowered people. I wonder if Quiet is someone who naturally has those powers, and they experimented on her to figure out how to replicate them.
Could be interesting! Personally I am EAGER to see what role she holds. Also whoever else could be our buddy. (Maybe Eli? OR OCELOT?!)

I just found out a week or two back that there's two songs in that trailer, Quiet's Theme and Sins of the Father, both sung by Donna Burke (though there's a Stefanie Joosten variant of Quiet's Theme that you can hear here).
