so what platform is everyone planning to get this game on? The release is getting pretty close now, and I have no doubt most all of my initial time with the game will be in single player, but I am pretty stoked for MGO too.
MGS V getting a PC release was a big factor in deciding to build a gaming computer, so I'll be playing on steam. I've actually sent out a few steam invites to people, so I hope to see some of y'all in MGO
(well, I guess 'pretty close' is subjective, and I don't know about you but 1.5 months is gonna go by like nothing this summer)
I can't wait two weeks, not with this game, so I'm picking up a PS4 copy. I will then pick up a PC copy later, to play MGO with a friend of mine, and also just because I prefer PC.
Did the same thing with Dark Souls 2, bought it release day, and eventually migrated over to my PC copy.
The true question for me is, how long will I be able to hold back on repurchasing for PC?
yeah, I'd probably do the same if I hadn't opted out of this console generation. MGS V is about the only game that could have convinced me to get a PS4, so I my wallet was pretty pleased to see the steam release announcement last year
I was going to pick it up on the PS4 until I tried Ground Zeroes on the PC. You can crank up the settings to 11 and it makes a pretty noticeable difference. Even the cutscenes see things like improved field of depth and other effects.
On the other hand, I'd be getting a digital copy of the game and not something I could play right off the disc. Who knows what Konami will do in the future? The fear!

I'm probably going to get it on PC, even though the wait will probably cause me to explode and I bought GZ first for the 360. The only person in my circle of friends that has bought into a new-gen console has an Xbox One and while I'm planning to follow suit it probably won't happen by the time TPP releases.
Plus, I'm ridiculously far and away better with a KBAM compared to my performance on the pad.
PC most likely so I can switch it to Japanese audio unless Renzo tells me I need to play it in English.
They're including the Japanese VA in the PC version? I didn't think they'd bother, since the PC version will probably sell like 3 copies in Japan.
I'm going PS4 but I'll pick up the PC version in a sale later on as well.
The way it works on Steam is similar to that of many other games with available languages. You choose the language in the game settings from Steam and it will download the necessary language files easy-peasy
I have heard, however, that to revert back requires re-downloading the original files =/
Someday I may just snag it for PC, especially if I get a much more powerful gaming rig and the 'HYAH' and "mmhmhmhmhm" humming get so far up my nerves that I want to kill god.
I mean, there's gonna be PC mods, more'n'likely. That's gotta be easier than deicide.
Besides, I'll probably be able to haxx my Dualshock 4 to run as the controller. Or the KB/M controls won't be shit. So it's workable.

I get that, I just assumed they'd remove the Japanese VA from the PC release.
As much as I'd like to play the game even prettier on PC, I have played every game in this series on a PlayStation console and plan on finishing it on a PlayStation console. There's also a much smaller chance of dealing with bullshit hackers or anything in Metal Gear Online on the PS4.
...Then I'll rebuy it on a Steam sale later on after mods have came out.
I'm gonna get it on PC, because I don't have a current gen console and will probably stay like this for a long while, as I can't afford them with the dollar being so high and all.
Thankfully my 3 year old GPU and 4 year old CPU are still faster than a PS4, so I'm good to go.

I had no idea that the console versions didn't look like the second screenshot. PC master race, indeed.
I have also heard the sentiment about wanting to play on PlayStation because that's where you've played the rest of the games from other people not on these boards, but I have a really hard time understanding it. If you have the means of running it with noticeably better visuals, why not just do that? Two weeks really isn't that long of a time.

I don't tho. I mean, running it better than a PS4 is gonna take wicked specs, and I don't have 'em. I'll get it for PC at some point, but I'd rather play it and then upgrade later.
I'd rather play it on my TV, lazing on the couch, with a controller and the big screen. And sure, some people could have their rigs set up so that they can easily play PC games from the "living room," mine isn't. Playing MGS on a console just feels right to me.

also in regards to the superior pc version that i will be playing comfortably connected to my big tv on my nice big lazy couch because justification on which version of a game you're going for never gets old:
Metal Gear Rising Ultimate Edition is on sale for $7.50 in the US on PSN this weekend. Think I might pick it up.

You will not regret it!
Protip if you've not played it before; focus on learning to parry. The game can be a complete slog of unfair fights until you get proficient at parrying!
Then completely unlearn these newfound skills when you play the DLCs cause the other characters have fundamentally different gameplay styles ;p
still haven't got around to playing rising or peace walker. though with peace walker my excuse is my ps3 is broke and i need a new one, and i guess im just waiting to finish witcher 3 before i can get enough gigs back to install rising, bought that one the steam sale awhile ago.

EDIT: oh my god that tweet is the end of a run of tweets where Kojima is talking about seeing Disney Pixar's INSIDE OUT and adapting the characters into The Cobras.

Konami's twitter account isn't being run by their CEO or executives, it's being run by people who are probably far more gutted by Konami's bullshit than any of us because they're sitting in the front row watching it go down.
New info about MGO3! I'm actually pretty excited to check out this multiplayer- Didn't play MGO during MGS4 and then it was gone. Also apparently some EU news sites will have impressions of MGO up on Monday. So that's something to look forwards to. Plus the new gameplay video that'll be coming out of Gamescom in two weeks. AND THEN it's just the long slide into MGSV release.
Guys, seems like MGS5 TPP is replacing Batman as the bundled ingame whenever you purchase an NVIDIA card. The offer is already live on some SKUs in amazon.com.

The Grey Fox/Iron Man figure was hype
Well Kojima saw it 6 times so he probably said nice things.
