There's this game on Steam called Alien:Isolation.
There is no better Alien game anywhere. I've heard complaints that it's too long. How can that be? Forever isn't long enough. I want to squirm under a desk and pray oh my fucking god I just want to pray that it didn't see me jesusjesusjesuschrist help me I can hear it in the walls...

I watched Alien again last night. Such a fantastic movie.
Real spoiler:
Although I always wonder why the Alien takes so long extricating itself from the wall in the shuttle.

You don't need to upgrade your weapons every five minutes, but it helps to check that your weapon's level is close to your own level. Rarer ones (at level 11, Greens and Blues will do) are preferable to whites, though.
I played the first 2 episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2 last night, damn, they aren't holding back on the feels! everything works out ok in the end though, right?
@DyasAlure , you shouldn't have to take on a level 11 baddie at level 8. Are you stuck on Captain Flynt? Maybe back off and do some sidequests (and find a better gun or two, as has been suggested. Normally when you hit a plateau you can cash in a few gold keys in Sanctuary. But it sounds like you aren't that far yet.)

Sure
I mean things turning out well in the end is what The Walking Dead is all about

At level 8 he's probably getting his ass kicked in that Bandit shantytown in the opposite direction of Flynt. I remember that being a big PITA early on.

Did anybody else pre-order Costume Quest 2? If so, where are the bonus costumes? I'd like to trade out the candy corn and can't find anything in the menu.

I got through the third episode, and decided I needed a bit of a rest, in order to soak emotional damage better later on.
I still haven't got back to it.
..but it really does carry the emotional weight of the first season very well.

The idea was that it had actually curled up there to die, as the xenomorph's lifespan was originally conceived of as being extremely quick like many insects.
In some cases we pay more: NBA 2k15 is $69.99CAD which converts to $62.64USD a 4.42% increase.
In some cases there is near parity: Alien Isolation is $54.99CAD which converts to $49.22USD a 1.54% decrease
and in some case we pay a lot less: Beyond Earth is $49.99CAD which converts to $44.74USD a 10.50% decrease in price.
I'm looking forward to putting in a little time with Alien, but I don't handle scary games well, apparently. I tried last night. I TRIED. I sat down, late, with headphones on and the lights out. I just got to my first real encounter with people in the game and then after that I'm walking through this hallway with little sounds coming from all over. A knocked over can here, a vent crumple there. And I see open air ducts and vents above me, to the side, etc. And I'm all "FUCK THIS, I'M OUT" and shut it down and went to bed.
I was soooo stressed.
I'm terrible with scary games, made worse by the fact my gameroom is in the basement and has no natural light. Therefore, playing during the day when it's sunny and warm (you know, the tropically weather of Maine) doesn't really help at all. I've tried Amnesia and Outlast and both of them got a solid "NOPE" for now. I've tried Outlast multiple times and still can't get past the anxiety it builds.

I got a friend request from Nobody last night. "It's a trap," I thought. But barring Russian spies, I don't reject friend requests - that's tacky.
Really? Call me tacky, then. My default response to Steam friend requests is small 'n' "nope" unless there's some affirmative indication that they are tied to the PA community somehow. No friends in common, no groups in common (or only "Steam Trading Cards Group" or a 50,000 member sale group) and no note in the profile tying back to a forum account? Uh uh.
FAKE EDIT: And lookee here, an invite from "Nobody." I said back in June that I would accept any gifts as a stretch goal for the children. But I didn't say I would accept friend requests from accounts whose sole purpose appears to be anonymous gifting.

I was so excited to get Outlast free on my ps4... And I've barely been able to make it ten minutes into the game because it stresses me out.
My assumptions that I'd handle a real life scary situation (not even talking supernatural) are really getting hard to continue to believe ...

Where is the goddamnit @Drake button, because seriously now I have to go home, pry myself from Destiny and see what this is all about.
It's just occurred to me how annoying this steam C$ thing is going to be with this thread. Since it's not just a straight currency conversion, any deals will actually have to be verified and many may not apply. Oh well. All the 3rd party vendors are still in US Funbucks so it means we can still compare there
I haven't played a game in 3 days now. I can't seem to sleep. Finish work, talk on chat for a bit then try to sleep. It's gone past 3pm here and I was supposed to be up for 7 to get ready for work.
Hah! More like 9 now I guess. Stupid coughing and shit. So next post gets a gift. I need feel good dammit.
It very narrowly beats Grand Theft Mordor for the title.
I'm shockingly out of the loop these days. Grand Theft Mordor?! I feel like I need to know.
Edit: Wait, no. Only just read the above post. Don't send me a gift! Honestly, please don't. I have far too many games sitting in my backlog from gifts over the years that I feel guilty about cos I haven't managed to play them yet. And I've barely been around the last few months! Bad time to resurface!
Edit 2: A-ha! The forum was telling me porkies about post positions! Panic over.
Is it wrong that I felt I had plenty of fun with Aliens Vs. Predator? I mean, I hadn't even gotten to any Predator bits, but I felt the tone, lighting, and environments were fantastic. Maybe it's just the whole Alien vs Aliens thing. I should get back to that. Also loved finding the story and lore bits around the environment, sort of like the Metroid Prime games...
Oh great, ACIV and Far Cry 4 are now $70 with the CAD price update.
Yep, nope. For some reason for me $70 is just way too much for one game. Especially since I just picked up Mordor and DA: Inquisition for $40-ish USD each (~44 CAD) from GMG.
Data smuggling. I'll buy them for anyone if I can get them cheaper.

do you mean the last AvP? I enjoyed it too, the Predator bit has some of the most gruesome kill animations I've ever seen
The Prize:
Apparently comes with some DLC and TF2 goodies too, but I can't confirm that bit.
There seem to be a few people that want this:
So what do you have to do?
Sorry, no Steamgifts giveaway. No simple "click a button" thing. I know, I know, that makes me a heartless terrible person. But we all knew that anyway.
Nope, you have to put a teensy bit of effort in.
Write me an ode. Or steal one. Or something.
I want an ode to cupcakes.
Okay, it doesn't actually have to be an ode. It can be a free verse poem. A haiku. A limerick. Even a simple prose paragraph. Heck, I'll even take an art. Just give me something fun that involves cupcakes in some fashion. How hard can that be?
Winner to be picked on Friday evening sometime (US Eastern), unless there's a complete lack of interest in which case I don't know. You all suck. And I'll figure something else out. :P
Go!
Speaking of Aliens and Narps and NOPE, this is still a thing! Get in your entry if you haven't already.

Nobody gave me the Crypt of the Necrodancer. Nobody! I don't know who Nobody is, but I will find out somehow. But for now, Nobody is on The List.
Thanks Somebody!

On that spoiler
I have never seen any Alien movie, though, so I totally went into this blind. Heh.
I'd trust the Steam Thread hive-mind above all though.
I've no plans to pick it up, though I'm curious. Not sure my pc could actually run it based on some of the amazing visuals I've seen from it.

But this is Alien. One of my favourite things. I'm fully prepared to scare myself silly for the cause... just not quite yet.
But how much NOPE is that? We need additional Science here. Because nothing bad has ever happened by adding Science.
If we take the si unit of NOPE, the Narp. For calibration purposes, let's set 1 Narp equal to the image in the spoiler.
So, given the calibration setting above, what does the Nopeometer read when scanning Alien: Isolation?
Well, well. Arbitrage opportunities abound.

I never had a chance. I was posting at the same time as @Big Classy and never even saw his post until too late.
Sort of like how I never see the monster until too late.
