It very narrowly beats Grand Theft Mordor for the title.
I'm shockingly out of the loop these days. Grand Theft Mordor?! I feel like I need to know.
Edit: Wait, no. Only just read the above post. Don't send me a gift! Honestly, please don't. I have far too many games sitting in my backlog from gifts over the years that I feel guilty about cos I haven't managed to play them yet. And I've barely been around the last few months! Bad time to resurface!
Edit 2: A-ha! The forum was telling me porkies about post positions! Panic over.
Is it wrong that I felt I had plenty of fun with Aliens Vs. Predator? I mean, I hadn't even gotten to any Predator bits, but I felt the tone, lighting, and environments were fantastic. Maybe it's just the whole Alien vs Aliens thing. I should get back to that. Also loved finding the story and lore bits around the environment, sort of like the Metroid Prime games...
If it's wrong, I don't want to be right.
I especially enjoyed the multiplayer. And that's saying a lot because I'm a really hard sell on death match multiplayer as I get older.
Ohmygoodness. Panic not over. Isy got me anyway! And why is Geth looking at my previous post?!
Despite my protestations! Thank you @Big Classy. I should know by now never to ask a question about any game in this thread. A false sense of security born of a couple of months absence!
The Prize:
Apparently comes with some DLC and TF2 goodies too, but I can't confirm that bit.
There seem to be a few people that want this:
So what do you have to do?
Sorry, no Steamgifts giveaway. No simple "click a button" thing. I know, I know, that makes me a heartless terrible person. But we all knew that anyway.
Nope, you have to put a teensy bit of effort in.
Write me an ode. Or steal one. Or something.
I want an ode to cupcakes.
Okay, it doesn't actually have to be an ode. It can be a free verse poem. A haiku. A limerick. Even a simple prose paragraph. Heck, I'll even take an art. Just give me something fun that involves cupcakes in some fashion. How hard can that be?
Winner to be picked on Friday evening sometime (US Eastern), unless there's a complete lack of interest in which case I don't know. You all suck. And I'll figure something else out. :P
Go!
Speaking of Aliens and Narps and NOPE, this is still a thing! Get in your entry if you haven't already.

@Rikdaly just gifted me the Directors Cut of Assassin's Creed which I somehow did not own on steam. Thanks mate! However.... And this is rather unfortunate but I have completed the game entirely on the 360 so I will most definitely not play it again on Steam which means I can't accept it dude, sorry! Still appreciate it all the same though!
The people playing New Vegas on my activity feed are tempting me... I'm deep in Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall now. But I'm really tempted to reinstall New Vegas.

Well, poop. I guess I can compare them first-hand now. People, don't try to sympathize with @Big Classy. We were talking about cough remedies and insomnia, the merits of trying to sleep versus giving in to the illness and playing Mordor, when he notes that I already HAVE Mordor so he can't gift it to me. So instead, he sends me Alien: Isolation. Apparently, even a sick Monster can still attack you with little provocation. Thanks Bizy, you damn Monster...

That just means someone else will try and gift it to you since you don't own it, and there's no such thing as an un-wishlist

there is no way you can refuse a cheap gift when you have just sent out 2 brand new full price games

I am currently wasting the wasteland while wasted.
That is, I am playing a shotgun-wielding technophile Jet-and-Psycho-junkie and having a goddamn blast.
What I'm really trying to say is: You should totally reinstall it. We can compare VATS head asplosions. Because that NEVER gets old.

Well strike that, Rik insisted I accept so as to complete my AC collection lest I develop an OCD later in life and feel everything in a series needs to be had! Thanks mate! Now I am gonna play the darn thing just to spite my previous post

I'm really tempted! I've wanted to do a TTW run ever since I've heard of it! I may have to do that after Dragonfall.
So, I've been reeeeaallly quiet for a few months. I haven't been gifting, anagraming, entering contests, etc. I make the mistake of carelessly wandering back in for a quick read and a couple of posts, and this happens.
@destroyah87 just hit me with Sunless Sea. My word. As a lover of Echo Bazaar/Fallen London and their delicious imagination and style of writing... I can't wait.
Hmmm. This Styx thing actually looks pretty interesting. I rather enjoy well done stealth games, the whole being a goblin thing looks amusing, and it not being full price is a definite plus...
Damn! Ittle Dew is such a great little game! I didn't even know you could speedrun it with any combination of two items until I saw a video just now, really impressed with the level and gameplay design of this thing.
There's this game on Steam called Alien:Isolation.
There is no better Alien game anywhere. I've heard complaints that it's too long. How can that be? Forever isn't long enough. I want to squirm under a desk and pray oh my fucking god I just want to pray that it didn't see me jesusjesusjesuschrist help me I can hear it in the walls...
hnnnnnnnnnnnngh
I watched Alien again last night. Such a fantastic movie.
Real spoiler:
Although I always wonder why the Alien takes so long extricating itself from the wall in the shuttle.
There has been some debate on how smart the xenos are; it might just know how fucking terrifying it is.

That's it. I'm abandoning my current career and taking up anthropology. This place is fucking fascinating and the world must know.
Just kidding. I don't really want the world to know about this place. The world just ruins things...
Is there a video game equivalent of cheeky horror comedies? Those are kind of the only "scary" things I can stomach. Your Cabins in the Woods, your Final Destinations, etc.
Just curious for anyone that uses the Mobile app. I generally leave it not running out of fear of battery drain. However, I've noticed any time I get the "A game on your wishlist is on sale" email - it also some how causes my Steam app to load and log me into Steam and stay running. Has anyone else noticed this? I just find it odd.

My Steam app seems to start and log me in for no good reason when it feels like it.
If only I could get my home computer to do the same... and to work on my backlog for me while I'm at work.

My wife has her Steam profile set to private. I asked if this was because she was trying to deter me from posting a link to her account here (and the possible welcome wagon that could go along with), her answer was, "Maaaaaaaaayyyybe . . ."

Did anybody else pre-order Costume Quest 2? If so, where are the bonus costumes? I'd like to trade out the candy corn and can't find anything in the menu.
They are meant to be accessible in game from Shady's secret shop.

Definitely happens to me. It is definitely weird. Why did it need to open the app if it's way of notifying you is by email. And the fact that it seems to launch it like 30 minutes before the email shows up.
Finally got around to installing windows on our new iMac, and wow what a difference. I've been playing borderlands 2 in ugly mode and it still felt slightly off on the Mac side, but in windows I can turn most settings to high and it feels a lot smoother. Goes to show how much having updated drivers helps.
The temptation to buy more games is too damn high now though. I can probably get away with one more full price game before the wife starts to regret buying this computer, but can't decide between Mordor and NBA. Which is more likely to run better, and which will probably go on sale sooner?

Okay - I haven't made it to a shop yet. Only got about 30-45 minutes in this morning. Thanks!

Thank you so much to @Viking for Disney Princess: My Fairytale Adventure! So many princesses! I'm aware that this game is designed for kids. I'm also unabashedly excited to play it.
And thank you to @JaysonFour for Gearcrack Arena! A cyberpunk arena full of explosions? This looks like a nice balance to all of the fairytale cuteness.
What a great thing to wake up to! Thanks again, you classy gents!
