Yeah I notice that it's not always the case. I have upgraded some armor pieces in the past and only the armor stat when up and not the others. So it might be random or dependent on the armor piece.
In the space of an evening I went from on the verge of wanting to quit to finally getting some gear to push me over level 20 to 22+. I also got my first purple engram, a class item, which decoded into a flaming purple armband. Frickin' finally.
@JusticeforPluto I should be the one apologizing with my fantastic K/D ratio of 0.4-0.7 . I'm slowly getting better and thanks guys for having the patience to keep inviting me.
Guys, I would take you on my team any day. I sucked too before and people witness that. But keep trying, you do get better. I was the shame of the clan in PVP and while I am far from the best, I hold my own now. Now I often finish in the top 3, sometimes first and my k/d ratio is getting better.
It all come down to getting used to the game, especially the maps. Maps knowledge is a big plus. Finding the right weapon for you and get some upgraded. For sure there are games where things

Guys, I would take you on my team any day. Just keep at it. I was in the same position and now doing a lot better, finishing top 3 in game often now. There are games where it seems everything just goes wrong. Enemies always seems to get to you from beind, you make all the wrong timing decision. This is normal and it happens even to the best. Just wash it up and get on the next game. Sometimes matchmaking have you running always against the same team and they crush you. Just quit matchmaking and rejoin and you will get new people to play against.
Map knowledge is so important and that comes with play. Finding the right weapon for your play style is also important. Just find something comfortable for you.
If you guys see me online, please feel free to join me. I often PVP right now with my cousin (would love to get him in the clan but he does not come to this forum) but that fine, just join us.
Me and my cousin are running into this weird chat problem. He can't hear me in fireteam chat and it's the same for me but if wen avec a3rd coming, we both can talk to him but not each other. If we do a ps chat room, it works fine. We both have blended option in chat and voice option in the game. Might be a not issue but the fact we can all chat with others in fireteam is puzzling.
Looking for one more on xbone side for the weekly strike.
Still looking? I need that shit done with for that Exotic Pulse rifle.
Edit: Seems I was too late, if anyone else need the weekly heroic still, I got a friend I can get to come along too, we just need a 3rd, sometime tonight probably (+3 hours from now and onwards probably)
Xbone, tag is Sirialis.
Edit2: Weekly is done, one step closer to Bad Juju.
First Light needs to be taken out of the map rotation. It's one of the least fun shooter maps I've played since FPS games had a multiplayer button.
What I do is hang out inside the large building with the occasional heavy ammo spawn near the Special ammo spawn (not the smaller building with the heavy ammo spawn in the second floor). The dome area is nice and enclosed, and the atrium of that building has a lot of great places to corner camp with a shotgun. I rarely leave that map without a positive K/D ratio, although I typically don't get the max number of kills. You don't get any bullshit deaths from sniping, turrets, or vehicles inside that building... just bullshit deaths from supers, but that's par for the course.

Want to thank you guys for the invite for the crucible last night. Even though I brought my usual level of awesome skill (read: Free kills for opposing team) I had some fun. Spent the rest of the late night farming to get mysterious coins/ motes of light so I could get something from Xur before he hustled off...only to find he had already hustled off. CURSE YOU! So just a note, I thought he despawned at 9am Eastern, but he was definitely already gone at like 5:45 am.

Also if I accidently delete a friend or forget to accept you, its just that the Xbone has made that system needlessly obtuse, I dont know what being a follower even means.
I saw someone mention it in passing earlier. Is there anyway to add friends for PSN while on the pc? The app is better than using the system but still isn't very quick, especially for the Mega-Roster.

What I did was find someone who mainly has PA dudes on their friends list, then navigate to their profile on the PS4 and start adding all their friends.
It takes awhile, but its much more efficient than typing them all out.
If you're willing to do this with multiple people's lists you could easily make sure you get all the active players.
Yeah I am trying to get my friend to get it but the internet has been gnashing it's teeth over Destiny so angrily. I have to convince him it's not terrible.

Excellent suggestion, I will have to give it a try

Got my first legendary engram ! I am fully prepared for disappointment !
I'm going to wait until I have more things to ID, though. Got 1 legendary and 18 blues atm. When a bank tab is full, I'll ID them all.
Motes will be useable for entry fees into special events too. So hold them for at least this queen thing, who knows if new vendors in the reef will open up.

Invite him over, put the controller in his hand.
I would if he didn't live across the country! I think he can be convinced still haha

Just tell him it's an average game. The truth always works, right?
“I used to draw, hard to admit that I used to draw...”
Okay, I need to get a consensus, as Destiny seems to use conflicting terms for certain things regarding stats. This is my understanding.
Defense = your Armor/Damage resist in PVE
Weapon Attack = Base DPS assuming same level in PVE
Light Level = Armor penetration/scaling damage buff vs mobs in PVE, the higher the LL, the more damage you do to same and higher level mobs in PVE.
Agility = Movement speed
Recovery = Speed of Health regen
Then the game appears to use different terms for the same(?) thing. On the Agility/Recovery Pane there is an Armor stat, listed as "how much damage you can take before dying". Is this then, Max HP? I ask because the class ability window does not refer to armor, instead it refers to "toughness". Is Toughness the same as Armor?
Here's where I get confused.
In PVP, Defense, Weapon Attack and LL do not apply, only the Impact stat on the weapon is in effect plus perks. However, does your Armor/Recovery/Agility still count? I.E. will a Titan with Toughness/Armor maxed have more effective base health/higher max hp in PVP as well?
I had read somewhere else that since Defense doesn't apply in the Crucible, you are better off speccing for recovery and speed, which is what I have been doing and feeling very easy to kill. However I recently noticed the specific wording for Defense/Armor/Toughness and am wondering if I can spec to tank hits better than I do now in the Crucible.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
looks like i get to select another Exotic weapon bounty!! i've already completed Toland's Legacy and gotten the Bad Juju, so its a choice between A Dubious Task for a shotgun and A Light in the Dark, for the Thorn. not particularly like the Crucible components of either, but i think i'm gonna have to go for the shotgun. and here i though my Crucible days were pretty much behind me after maxing out the weekly Marks last night. oh well.....
Curious if any of the Xbone crowd would be interested in doing a late night raid run next week? I can really only play from around 11pm to 5am CST M-F, and I see quite a few people around late-ish. Wouldn't have to be a huge time commitment, we could just do a couple hours a night.
I'm not too worried about beating it but I'd like to at least give it a shot. Any other late nighters interested?
That's more or less prime time for me, too. I'll be on at that time on Monday and Tuesday this week.
I'm usually on around that time I think (usually on around 8pm PST till Midnight). I'd be willing to do
So close to downing the final boss in the vault tonight. Went to go farm helium to upgrade some gear for another attempt. Found a chest run on youtube. Ya, I got maybe 10 helium in an hour or so
I don't know where you were looking, but I got around 60-70 in an hour going around the particle accelerator where you start on the moon.
I was following this and most of the spots he said chests should spawn I found none. I have a hard time seeing helium by itself on the ground though. I also need to go to mars for some iron.
I think I'm going to give up on Crucible. I just am woefully under-skilled. I had a few matches today where I my K/D was 2/15. I just don't understand what the game wants me to do to be able to kill mans. They all seem so tough and I'm super frail. Is it because I'm playing Hunter?

I believe it's actually even across the board, but I could be wrong, it definitely feels like everybody moves at around the same speed and takes about the same amount to kill unless they have a blue shield or something. I think stats pretty much don't matter in PvP, just the impact/rof/etc. from your gun and your class skills

That's what I'm asking about. You can change your overall toughness/recovery etc with your class abilities/skills. Since these values are not affected by gear, do they apply in PVP?
For another perspective, will a fully speed maxed Hunter run faster than another Hunter who is not speccing into speed?

This weekend's play list was for vehicle combat in a game with only one multiplayer map large enough for vehicles, in a game with only three vehicles, two of which function nearly exactly the same.
Poor form, Bungie. Poor form.
Sure, we have a Ghost and a Revenant equivalent, but where's the two person vehicles? The Warthogs? Or the flyers like the Banshees. Hell, even those Mantis from 4 were pretty neat, could go for some of those.

I suck, but I really enjoyed hanging out with you dudes.
I'm going to eat some lunch and then go back to Destiny, and I look forward to charging into pvp and dying with you guys again and again.
Also, @OptimusZed, it is totally a shoulder charge if you don't jump!
Slowly pushing towards 27 and seriously tempted to pick up Titan and Hunter, maybe even just leveling Crucible only at first.
As long as the game keeps giving me thin pretext for firefights I am down.
