thanks to @TPSou for the invite to Vault Raiders Internationale tonight. was glad to have a team that knew what they were doing since i went in pretty much blind. and it was great to see another side of the game. makes me eager to see what they come up with for the future. will be making the most of my shiny new Legendary sniper rifle too.
I am such a nerd...
I also followed an assassination mission on Earth, where I had to kill a Fallen Dreg in the place where the Wizard appears in the storyline, and I found a corridor and came to a whole new area where I never had been
I saw someone shooting at a cave and knew : "Ah, this is the place where everyone was talking about"...
Quite funny to now stumble upon that place, even after levelling 3 characters.
The 3 characters are quite nice for daily public events for that little bit of extra strange coin/ascendant material...
And I never have an exotic engram that I can't use
If anyone would like to do the weekly strike or a Queen's Wrath feel free to send me an invite. I'm just going to be doing patrol mission in the meantime.
I tried to add you, but it seems like friend requests aren't working on PSN.
You know what's incredibly frustrating? Trying to knock 3 Gold Tier Public Events out by patrolling a zone organically, before getting in some actually fun PvP. These things are so rare, and are over so quickly, ontop of only alerting players only in their specific sub-zone, so with a little bit of bad luck, I'm not going to do any public events tonight, let alone three.

Does this work, in your experience? Because it doesn't seem to work for me.
Works fine for me
Green always happen
Blue are usually happen
Purple are rare
Also there is about a 5 minute window on the start of the events. If it hasnt started yet 5 min after they say it will on blue or purple then you just got unlucky
I posit that Salvage is the worst game type, unless you're looking to be stomped at the outset. I hate it so much. I played three rounds in a row, and one of my team dropped out ten seconds into the match each time. I hate the mechanics, I hate the team size, I hate the people who play it, but they put a goddamn trophy in this feculent pile and so I have to keep trying.
"Darkness" nothing, the true threat to humanity is other people.
Yes salvage is the worst to pub as far as crucible goes. I'm sure with a real fire team it would be more fun, but pubbing it? Might as well lube up and drop trow, because they are going in dry.
Yea, you really need a group of 3 for Salvage. Pubs rarely resurrect, don't stick together, etc. I'm currently 25-1 in Salvage, but I've only played with a full group of 3.
Bought that unique helmet from Xur for my Warlock and got a queen's coat and a shiny new ship from doing those missions. Thanks to FrankAustin for helping me out with that one.

Edit: six rounds in a row. Fuck this.
You must've been very unlucky; the matches I played have always been very close... But if a player leaves the team and you are stuck with 2 vs. 3, yes, you will be in a very unfun place...
I like Salvage because the team stays closer together than in something like Control (and it are smaller battlegrounds with no vehicles).
It's also the place to get your "Kill a Hunter, a Titan and a Warlock with a super" trophy, because the matchmaking tries to mix the types mostly in that configuration...
Damn Carl, you make OGStudbone seem not as hardcore.
Being stuck at home with a burn-out allows me to hang in a chair and do minimal movements... Though I have to admit that I've played since the release a wee bit too much...

It works fine, you are just not guaranteed to always get an event. Some events spawn more often on the timer than others. Also instead of events, occasionally you will see "the enemies move against each other" or something like that, and a ton of elites for 2 sides will flood out of 2 sides where they were fighting.

Yeah. On the third try, a green one actually worked.
Edit: Second common event happend as scheduled. I guess that makes me a believer. Time to bookmark a website. Thanks for the heads-up.

Eh there are buffs that could help it, but right now, as the gun stands, its really very weak. 5 bursts and having to reload leaves you open like a celebrity with nude photos on your iphone.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
1. I actually have enough strange coins to buy that Warlock helm from Xur... but it looks worse, stat-wise, than the Queen's hat I'm already wearing, so... fuck that?
2. Farming Relic Iron* is boring as hell.
*Feel free to replace "Relic Iron" with whatever you want, odds are the statement remains true.

Maybe next week we can see about doing all of normal in one go with no deaths.
Vault of glass normal is pretty easy, just would be nice for us to get some more armor drops.

I actually really like finding materials in the wild.
I usually just grab a patrol mission and pick them up along the way. After some of the harder instances I've been in, it's pretty relaxing.

In my experience, the Mothyards on earth are really reliable. Every 30 minutes at X:00 and X:30 an event pops there (might be 1-2 minutes late). It's labeled uncommon on that map, but I've never been there without one happening.
Just remember that half the people you meet are below average intelligence.

That's not farming. Farming is finding a good spot with reliable chest spawns and circling it checking all the chest spawns for... however long you can stand it. I managed long enough to get the 50-ish I've needed for upgrades for a few days now, but ugh, the mind-dulling tedium.
*edit* Until Bungie nerfs chest spawn rates, at which point I'll stop upgrading things. Which is, again, a design problem. XP can unlock an upgrade, but you can't pay for it unless you've randomly come across 16 red rocks in red sand. I mean, what? How is that intriguing gameplay?

Then I guess I'm farming wrong.
My 70+ caches of each crafting material, even after fully upgrading several legendaries, would seem to indicate that I'm getting it done, though.

I think the jumping is going to be the hardest part for that achievement.
You may want to bring someone else for a no death run.
I really don't get why they'd completely remove the ascendant material breakdown from queen's gear. I would agree that since the missions give guaranteed purple gear, it probably should have gave out fewer materials in the first place, say 50% chance to give 1 shard. Especially when they only give out 2 common items so it's certain to generate duplicates at a fast rate. But removing the loot motivation from a loot grind game is idiotic. Do they really think people will keep doing those missions for nothing?

And then that hunter got good loot at the end of mission screen.
