Videos refuse to show up on my PSP

Ok, so I have a PSP with the latest firmware update, 3.30. However, no videos will work on this thing. I've tried everything. I've probably converted these videos 3 different ways and still nothing. The latest update claims all I have to do is put the files into the VIDEO folder on the memory stick, but that doesn't work. I've also tried the MP_ROOT, 100MNV01 method, and still nothing.
Can anyone offer insight?
