Ugh, I'm so aimless with minecraft, or at least vanilla, modded minecraft is crazy complicated. Building inevitably seems to come down to having sufficient block materials and ore, and I think if there's automation there, it's very complicated and maybe not practical.
I don't feel a need to set up monster spawners and farms/ranches of all types, because a wheat farm is all I'll need for food, and I don't want to be fighting to need arrows etc from spawners. I hope I'm just missing something, but it seems to come down to a huge need to sink time into manual mining.

i find that building in different biomes and trying to build something to compliment environment helps keep things fresh (instead of trying to make the same build each map).
also it helps that i like to build and my wife likes to gather.
playing solo can get kind of tedious.

So @Septus, if you want you can try to join our team. If you are nice. Are you nice? What is your timezone?

Oh. Um. @Septus I meant that you can come over and build and hang out with us. Sorry, I know I used "team" which on the PvP server usually means fight team, but we are white - the no fighting ever color. I just wanted to say you are welcome to come build nearby and hang out with us, work on projects with us. Still interested?

Yeah, I had been planning on going white. Where's the build?
Clarification for anyone wondering: although Meridian is referred to as the "PVP server", it is still essentially a cooperative survival & build environment. Nobody so far has shown any interest in running around and murdering unsuspecting players. PVP *is* enabled, so you need to be a little more careful not to hit other people with stray arrows and sword hits, but other than that it is business as usual.
As far as the team colors go, the colors are currently for chat purposes only, so feel free to pick your favorite color as your team. Opt-in PVP arenas and events where colors may matter are still on the horizon, but rules for those events will be area-specific. (Expect more info on those in a few weeks.)

I've been hanging out in the house that Dread built since Meridia 2.0 started, building farms and gathering resources. This weekend I've finally started my own build again.
Curious to see if anyone is interested in another modded server?
No.

Sorry to have to report someone breaking rule #1 on the Victors Bounty server. Not advocating for mod retribution or anything because it is a vanilla server. This is more in a warning because most people have moved on but to anyone that still has builds they may return to... hide yo stuff.
Had some things go missing from my chests on Isla Dais that i noticed (many diamonds. a fortune pick, and strangely an armor stand with mob dropped armor that was just deco). I did find a few stacks of ender pearls that the perp couldn't make off with in way of recomp. By all means let me know if these items also were borrowed.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled programs.
I just got this, I bought it for my girlfriend a few weeks ago and she loved it so she gifted me back.
I'm trying to build a moat around my house, theres a big lake right in front of it and some smaller ones around it, but the water doesn't seem to flow very far. How do I fix this?
I think it flows more than 3 blocks? but it doesn't go very far, yeah.
Water doesn't behave very intuitively in minecraft. Basically full blocks of water that flow can generate from are called source blocks and are the only water blocks that can be picked up with a bucket. If there are two water source blocks touching the sides of an empty space with something underneath it they will create a new water source block in that space. If you want to fill a large 1-block deep rectangular area with water, fill every other block on two perpendicular sides with source blocks and they should fill in the rest of it automatically. If it's deeper, do the bottom layer then do the next layer on top of that and so on. If the area to fill is more irregularly shaped you might have to fill in more spots by hand. Lava also behaves like water, except that it doesn't create new source blocks ever so it's more of a pain to fill in with and it's a more limited resource.

Someone has a portal at the bottom of a diamond mine right next to a lot of lava. I can't make a portal in my swamp without it taking me there...Was wondering if that portal is important because I'm sad now. It's the one close to Dread and the red team's portal in the nether.
**I keep having to run all the way back to my build every time I attempt to move it. Frustrating

Sorry, it's on the PvP map.
Looks like it may be a shortcut to Dread's portal as his is around the corner in the Nether.

get your portal coordinates and divide the x and z by 8 and then build a portal at that location in the nether and youll manually link it to your location instead of the other portal. as close to y can help if there are many nearby portals (probably not the case)
glitter and/or i can help with this is you want?

Speaking of pigmen being slaughtered...
A rare action shot of two iron golems striving valiantly against an endless horde of pigmen. And one chicken.

Use that to go nuts filling your moat
Water only flows like 3 blocks as is
So like, dig a 2x2 hole and...how do I add water? Sorry I've only been playing for a couple hours
Build a bucket with 3 iron bars and use that. The wiki will be your friend

Water flows 7 blocks assuming it doesn't drop a level. When it does it resets to a new 7 blocks.
