The Blaze Grinder is fully operational! Located at 185, -225 (in the nether of course) - it's on the dynmap!
There's a road built from Nether Spawn and some signage pointing you in the right direction.
The grinder has a button to lower the blazes to their minimum HP! (Note: If you idle and allow too many blazes to spawn, they may take damage due to the cramming limit of mobs, making this button kill blazes, preventing you from getting XP.)
Special thanks to Mayabird for providing a maxed-out enchantment area, including two anvils!
Thanks to Defster for providing a enderchest!
There's a small nether wart farm and potion brewing area (bring your own bottles/water - cauldron available).
Also some furnaces, blast furnaces, and smoker set up to get double the work done!
Open to suggestions!
(It can help to move around, walking up the stairs and back down to make the blazes move around. Logging out/in works too.)

Blaze Grinder pro-tip:
Though JP did half-slab the path to the grinder, it's still in a nether fortress and can be quite dangerous, with random blazes and withers spawning near the path. Deposit any valuables (items to enchant, lapis, etc.) in the enderchest at Unnamed Spawn Location and sleep in the bed there, then rush over along the path - if you live, you can withdraw your items from the enderchest in the grinder, and if you die, it's a quick run back. A fire resistance potion can help too but magma cream is really rare right now.
Thanks to the community donations, the Armory is now open for Guild Members! Each Guild Member has their own stash and an armor stand of gear for use in emergencies. We never know what dangers we'll find out there, and it's important to keep a supply of backup gear for when the worst happens.
I've been working a bit on nether roads again. I made a road to the portal for the stronghold so folks can more easily get to the end if they want to. From the spawn nether portal: take the tower to ground level, then go south until you hit a road heading west. This western branch goes all the way to the stronghold portal. I think I forgot to put signs up, but I'll do that soon.
If anyone wants a nether road to something or wants me to fix a portal or whatever, let me know.

Speaking of roads, ever wanted to go riding around but lacked a saddle for a horse? Be sad no more! Piney Mountain Trading Company now offers not just saddles but also leather horse armor for the low, low price of 5 emeralds (or equivalents) each!
You may be wondering what the appeal of leather armor is when diamond or otherwise would be stronger. That's true, but leather horse armor can be dyed! Customize your armor to prettify your horse as you like!
Saddles and horse armor are available in the barrel immediately to your left as you enter.* Start your mounted explorations today!
*Where the eggs used to be. The eggs have been moved to the PMTC Farm and Food Stand next door.
I checked and minecraft horse armor does actually give your horse damage reduction based on the material so I'm stuck with my shiny diamond horse, sorry maya!
So here you are jumping from a great height into the ocean. On the way down you decide to be Mr. Cleverdick and use your boat right as you hit the water.
So here you are having to make your way back across the map to recover your stuff...
I mentioned this in the discord chat, but I'll repeat it here.
Hey so I'm one step closer to getting the rail junction at spawn set up. I need to figure out a couple of things and I need help for this. I was hoping to color code each NSEW route, and I need help deciding what route should be what color.
I'm also thinking of leaving the redstone exposed, with it's own color code system for easier interpretation so folks can see what it looks like.
Oh! Important detail, I made dark green like an accent color for the station itself.

I'm not trying to, like, indulge your vices or make you sin or something but, like, what if there was a building at spawn where you could, like, put in an iron and, like, maybe more iron would come out or, like, maybe none? Or, like, what if you put in an emerald and, like, a well enchanted item or, like, a saddle came out but, like, you didn't get to choose?
Would people, like, like that?
(If it was too painful to read, would people want to literally gamble in the server (with a lot of disclosure about the prize pool) or is it a waste of my time?)
I trashed my sleep schedule again but I wanted to let folks know that you can now participate in the democratic process-for real this time.
Voting for the new Spawn town's name today begins at 5:30 PDT, Tuesday, October 29th, and ends at 5:30 PDT on Thursday, October 31st.*
I can't wait for the spoopy results!
*I screwed up my sleep schedule again so I wasn't able to remind folks yesterday so I'm just moving the voting window.
i'm trying to make a route from my nether portal back to other people's nether portals, but i don't really know where they are.
also i haven't done a ton of exploring/route making in the nether ever, so it's kind of intimidating.
on the map i can see a bunch of roads originating from spawn, so i guess i'll find myself and then go from there.
So I check the ballot box periodically just to see if people are actually voting or not, and I noticed uh things.
So we had 2 write-ins, in a normal election it makes sense to put someone like Goodspaceguy in all of the voting options if you just wanna say "Fuck you!" to the establishment, or something. I get it. But they seemed like serious entries, but because they were put in a box that's attached to a hopper to hide the results from you guys until voting is over, literally no one else would see those write-ins? So like were those wasted votes? I don't get it. I left them in the ballot box, and then wrote in those names into the Name Box.
Then, 2 other names were taken from the Name Box and then put straight into the ballot box instead of just writing on a new slip of paper. So, when the next person comes by to pick from the name box, but doesn't remember all the names in there, they aren't going to see those names, and they aren't going to vote for them. I left those in the ballot box too and just wrote in new slips of paper for the name box so others could vote for those two options if they wanted to.
So, I reorganized the name box, and made sure all votes that were in the ballot box are still counted.

The nether spawn portal is at 2 , 67 , -23 (hit F3 to see your current coordinates)
There's a significant north and south nether road, so if you move towards that road from your portal you should be able to hook up fairly easily. Feel free to bore through the terrain, just be aware that lava source blocks can hide anywhere in the nether and lava moves faster there as well.
If you need help lemme know I like building stuff in the nether.
So the junction for the station is finished, and I've dug most of a tunnel for the north section of the route to where it meets the surface. I had to make a slight detour and I might just end up pushing the exit further north if I have to, to avoid a canal that @Defster dug out. The East, South and West lines have not been dug yet. Each tunnel will have the color of the line on the walls, and when the rail reaches the surface it will have hints of that color.
If you wanted to check out how the junction works though, it's functioning as it should! There's wooden buttons on colored terracotta blocks, and corresponding blocks on the side so you know which one takes you where. It's not NSEW but Right (light blue), Straight (dark green), Left (yellow). I hope to make a written guide book soon on how to set it up but brain fog got in the way today so I could only just copy a build someone else made, I couldn't explain why it was done that way.
I also asked @Tef to help test it out cause his lag is always terrible, and it works. If you find yourself still struggling, you might just have to hit the forward button as you go along.
Junction is fukkin dope as hell. When I get some time I’ll pitch in to dig the canals for the rails.
It would be cool as hell to roll up on an event in a train of minecarts. At least that way I won’t lose horses in ravines
I need oak, which is why I started an oak tree farm at spawn, even if it sucks. It's meant to be a surface rail. Current I'm working on the north rail, trying to figure out how I want the underground section of the lines to look, and where I can dig up to avoid Defster's canal.
The surface rail's going to be above ground, and constructed from mostly oak, with a bit of stone brick.
I also need colored glass to match the route's color designation so you can tell at a glance what line you're looking at. The north line is cyan, and I have plenty of dye but I need glass. @Mayabird you have a desert canal project, how much are you selling sand for?

I can donate the sand. There will be a lot of it.
(Also if anyone is using the PMTC donation picks and shovels for the rail project - please return them to the chest when they get down to the black so I can recycle them. No need to let them break. Thanks)
In a stunning case of poetic justice, I have managed to lose my two shulker boxes. I am hoping I’ve put them down somewhere and just forgot them, but I spent 45 minutes last night retracing my routes and couldn’t find them. The other option is that I thought I picked them up when I logged last time, but actually lagged out and left them floating to despawn.
If you find a purple shulker full of smooth stone and oak wood, and a red one full of red stone components, let me know!
I then accidentally threw my diamond sword into lava, so I need a bit of a break from the server I think!

@chrishallett83 Lapis is used for enchanting, alternatively you can make blocks of it.

Done, sorry I missed that one.

Don't be clever, fall damage sucks.
South = Bone grey cuz that's the way to Bone Town, Baby!

It refused to run on my old netbook running Windows 10, but it looks like I may have more luck running it on Linux
