OMFG are you serious. Spend a lot of time soloing my way through the fucking nightfall. Get to the end and get 2 people in game. We clear everything. I say don't start anything until we figure out where we need to be. Someone starts it, we wipe in 5 seconds. Thanks for wasting an hour of my time. That's what I get for being helpful. Fuck.
I don't think that you start the Archon, do you? Doesn't it just happen once you mop everything up?
From running it a couple of times, not quite, no. After killing the mobs in the area, nothing happens until any Guardian walks by the front of the Archon's pod. You'll know it's starting because Ghost says "Are you sure about this?"
It could be if you hang way back it eventually auto starts, but I haven't seen that.
Yeah I'm pretty sure you have to run up to the Archon's pod and then it starts. If you look at your minimap i think there is a marker there.

Finally hit 28 last night since I was able to recover the last 2 shards I needed. I feel like I would have a more active role in Raid now. I also got my first ever "good fortune" when completing the nightfall last night. I got an Exotic Helm. The good news is that it was in fact for my warlock and it looks nice!. The bad news is that it has +strenght on stats and only bonus is that it reduce the time it takes me to revive people. very limited bonus. Too bad, it looks good but I might not wear it often.
Still hoping this is a sign that my fortune is finally switching.
Hmmm, I've played Iron Banner for a couple of hours, and with my suckiness and the quitters combined, it may have been 4 wins, 7-8 losses, which means that rank 2 is still 800 points away :sad:

Monkey calmly proceeded to solo the boss for the win whilst Hax and I gave him sitreps about the visibility because it was waay too dangerous to revive us for avoiding the nightfall wipe.
I apologized a ton and the guys were extremely cool about it and even ran me through the weekly afterwards. Just saying mistakes happen. Its frustrating but it is what it is. Incidents like that with the crew I run with is why I will do Xyor AGAIN for anyone that needs it, or try to make it through the nightfall/weekly as many times as it takes for the team even if I already did it earlier in the week.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

I really still just don't see why we don't shove the prison off the cliff. or bungie(OLOLPUN) it to our ships and throw it into the sun..
edit: If you die on a nightfall or weekly, and its too dangerous to res, if you are not leader, go to orbit, then rejoin the group, you will join back alive. protip:this resets your deaths for 'do strike without dying' too.

i asked about this a few days ago and have been working towards confirming it since. nice to know that they time hasn't been wasted since i just Doctor Nope from a legendary engram. almost finished levelling up Grim Citizen III, so it's good to know i've got a steady source of energy on hand.
Dr. Nope is a brutally awful AR unleveled. I'm really hoping that once I get the stability upgrade unlocked it'll be more enjoyable to use. It kicks like a mule and has no impact, so it's just not been enjoyable to use so far.

i prefer using a pulse rifle anyway and am really happy with my Super Plox VLO, so i'm really only interested in the Doctor for the energy it can provide. got a couple of sniper rifles and rocket launchers that are in desperate need of upgrading.
it may take some doing but with the Dr. Nope and Grim Citizen i've basically got enough energy for an upgrade just waiting to be harvested.
Grrr. I thought I had 13 coins but I only have 11. Playtime is limited tonight, tomorrow night is my IRL gaming night (last one for ____ due to host's looming baby birth), then I'm away for the weekend for a trip I don't want to go on. And I don't have Monday off. #gamerproblems

Nah, you start the Archon by walking up to the pod. Last night when I did it I spent a good minute or so after clearing the mobs figuring out how to get into the cowardly hole, gathering ammo lying around from corpses and then triggering it.

Did the vault on hard mode as well and still no armour. I did get the bike, an arc pistol and an arc shotgun. I don't really see an oracle killing shotgun being an ideal weapon in there so it may just stay in the bank.

Shotty could be handy during the Templar fight, since the Oracles are all ground-level.

In regards to all the Nightfall cheese discussion - I actually found it very easy to solo him fighting back by the cliff you drop down from. I sniped the shit out of him with a void rifle until adds started to appear (since you can keep him staggered this way), then jumped back up until the area was clear. You can then jump back down, pick off a few enemies, and once you inch out far enough he'll teleport or walk around the corner to you. Unload into him then jump away and repeat. He won't actually walk into that enclave area where you drop down if you're up on the cliff.
This way meant no accidental falls, no getting hit while trying to hide under the barricade. Did the same strategy with 2 friends and had no issues.

I think there was a server issue because I got first place in IB which means something has to have gone wrong somewhere.

Shotguns are pretty good for oracles, I was using remote control for the entirety of non boss encounters. Granted it gets a bit more range.
It works great for the Templar fight, where you can run to shotgun range for the oracles.
It's kind of pointless inside the gate with atheon.
