Awesome fight, just can't believe Mendes fought so conservatively in the 5th when Aldo has the rep for flagging late in fights. Did Money think he had 3 rounds in the bag? Cause he was wrong if he did. He did great though. Showed an amazing chin after getting rocked in 4/5 rounds to still be there at the end.
Also, "I am the King, Chad is the Prince and now we have a Joker."
The ref tweeted that the crowd was so loud in there he couldn't hear either the 10-sec clacker or the hooter, and Aldo and Dana said the same thing, which explains the "late" shot at the end of R1. Aldo said because he hadn't heard the hooter he thought the ref was stopping the fight and giving him the win rather than just stopping the round.
I rewatched it and while it does appear later than we usually see Aldo is throwing before the hooter and both punches land before the hooter ends, so technically they weren't "after" the bell anyway. They were "during" the bell.
Why is his name pronounced "Joe ze" Is that a Portuguese thing?
J is pronounced like a soft English "J" in Brazilian portuguese. The "H" sound we think of from the Spanish "J" is reserved for a leading "R" or mid-word "rr", hence "Henan" Barao.
Seeing Dana be confused and angered by people developing a sense of camaraderie was awesomely funny to me.
I haven't been the biggest Felice fan but even allowing for Heather's injury I was impressed with the way she won. Really hoping Aisling gets the win next week because Magana has been (edited to be shown) acting like a real asshole and Aisling has been ridiculously underexposed.
Overall I've been enjoying TUF Latin America more though, partly because Pettis and Melendez aren't exactly compelling personalities vs Werdum being great to watch but also because the Mexican fighters in particular are a bunch of entertaining goofballs.
I'm skeptical about Heathers injury there. She gets in the ring and immediately starts jumping in place and she moved just fine. I'm sure it was injured but I doubt it was as severe as she made it out to be.
Aldo Mendes was insane. The way Aldo moves is incredible, I'd argue he's the pound for pound best fighter out there.
The seminar with Richie and Geo Martinez was incredible, if you get a chance hit one of these guys gyms or seminars. Worked a sweep from Terra guard into a Japanese neck tie into a darce variation with Richie teaching then the truck, truckstop, 100% to truck, Cuy control and the baby twister taught by Geo. best seminar I've been to, having two guys instructing who know each other's games so well was huge.

"I had seven fights on my contract (after the Diaz fight). I met Lorenzo and Dana on Thursday and that contract was canceled. We signed for another 15 fights," Silva told Combate. "To make Dana crazy, I signed for 15 more fights. And to make my family crazy, too."
I doubt Silva fights 15 more times. All this does is pretty much guarantee that Silva retires with the UFC. Instant Hall of Fame ceremony on the night of his final fight, probably one of those silly glass/crystal trophies right in the middle of the cage.

Bendo vs. Alvarez got added to the Fight Night 59 card in Boston. Here's the card so far.
Featherweight - Conor McGregor vs. Dennis Siver
Lightweight - Benson Henderson vs. Eddie Alvarez
Middleweight - Costas Philippou vs. Uriah Hall
Lightweight - Jorge Masvidal vs. Norman Parke
Looking pretty good so far, actually.

I hope that Souza/Romero/the winner of Rockhold and Bisping are all ready to go when Vitor gets pulled from this fight. Somebody is getting a telephone call.

Davis is a submission/point guy, not a heavy striker.
I'll take Davis and Lentz over the Elkins and Fitches of the world. Grindy, submission-based styles, but they are active no matter where they are.
Edit: Mr. Wonderful is about to beat Glover. This is cray.
"Always bet on black!" Hahaha
What.

Also, Mendez's was an accident.
He could barely move at the end there.
Good stuff.

It was close but I had it 49-46 too. That's just how the scoring works. Even a 50-45 can come out of a close fight.

I don't think I've ever seen Jose busted up like that before, in all the fights I've seen of his in the WEC and UFC combined.
