THANK YOU SO MUCH
IT IS AWESOME
Alright, unlike all the other not-in-the-spirit-of-Christmas people, I have waited until Christmas Eve to open mine, even though I think I was the first to receive my gifts.
These I opened early, but have not had a lot of time to enjoy them. Have no fear*, as I am now on leave and have nothing but free time and sleepless** nights to enjoy them.
*Lots of fear
**See above
Mentioned in my previous post, was the charity donation of chickens. Still one of my favourite charity programs. Gives me the warm and fuzzies.
All my gifts under our Christmas Tree.
A poster! Odd, it's upside down, must be because it's from so far north!
Now Giant's Causeway is an interesting location. The Hexagonal shapes makes it seem so much more alien (and more impressive) than New Zealand's Petrified forest, or Australia's weird series of tubes that might or might not be trees.
It's also on our list of places to visit when we do our UK* trip
*At least I didn't say England!
Next up, assorted goodies.
Too numerous to go through in detail, but special mention to the wooden plaque which I believe is a curse upon my enemies? It's already up on a wall.
The scarf is probably my favourite of the lot, made from Irish Sheep's wool. There's a joke in there somewhere.
All in all, a good haul.
Thanks a bunch RMS, I love all of it and they will get used and abused.
Especially that puzzle, which I think my wife is taking a hammer too at this very moment.
It’s not a very important country most of the time

Not that I'm advocating this or anything...but if you have a return address regifting is a thing *sage innocent nod*
turnabout IS fair play after all
This may have been Quid's plan all along!

If it helps there will be no more from me.
Oh man
I simultaneously hate and love these
I humbly apologise for the stress my oopsiedaisies caused. I have no excuse for taking down the address wrong. After all I was Santa for Lud last year.
@Mortious
Super glad you like the stuff! I'm always nervous when I buy "off script" (no wishlist) in case it all goes wrong. Such a faux pas remains in a hypothetical future and may it never come to pass!
There was one but the chain was immediately broken
if you are talking about the Buddha head no it isn't we got it from spool this year
Edit: nvm, I didn't recall that it had actually got moving along after a bit of a delay. That is awesome festivus news
Maybe some of the magic of the ice trays should happen all year round.
You are but mortal sir, and these things will happen. I sincerely appreciate you making all of this possible - it's events like this, and fine people such as yourself, that are the marrow of this community. It's why i'm here. I think it's why we're all here.
I'm ashamed that I doubted the Unite States Fucking Postal Service for getting @ludious his gift. I had reservations, that they would bureaucratically kick back my package after the address goof, but they were on the motherfucker.
@ludious - i'm elated you got your gift. I can stop worrying now. Hooray! Enjoy!
So I seriously considered waiting 'til Christmas Eve, but sometime around 2AM on Satursundayish I was well equipped in both the bad decisions and powerful curiosity departments, and decided to take a look at the contents of this box. And then five servings of free Jameson took over and I pretty much just disemboweled the box of its packing material like so much tauntaun intestine, and realized I was ill-equipped to document the proceedings further. As previously recorded by @nexuscrawler, "There's too much shit going on in here!"
I managed to hold off for a bit, but ultimately, I mean... the box is already open, right? I might as well dig into it, right? Right??
First things first:
Cardboard Tube Samurai! What! For a first step into Penny Arcade memorabilia this is not a light entry.
There are instructions to check out the base... And it is indeed autographed by those delightful fellows who make that webcomic, hey!
This is going up with my other signed lovelies on my geekery shelf (because yes I have uh, one. yes. One shelf. Definitely not uh multiple shelves dedicated to memorabilia from things >.> )
Yarn!
This is some pretty savvy post stalking because I don't usually include craft materials on my list-- specifically because they're hard to guess, taste-wise. I am a fiend for all things Knitpicks, and these are excellent colors, too! This is alpaca and wool and it is just about omg the fluffiest
Flask!
Flask that is also a mustache!
I'm not sure yet exactly what I will be putting in it but rest assured that I actually have a top hat and monocle oh fuckit I can't find the monocle, here's some "___punk" goggles to go with it. Ill-ass Lemony Snicket photo to follow.
Last, but possibly most special - - the Art of Star Wars, from 1979!
This is so rad!
Especially cool because I recently jumped back into this fandom after many years of general unfocunerd rage regarding certain later ..."films"... and it is like reuniting with an old friend when you've been away long enough to forget why you were mad, and remembering the great stuff instead.
And this book was released prior to the release of even the second film-- there's sort of a charming optimism to it, in hindsight. Accompanying the awesomely strange concept art is the shooting script for the first film, so it actually does have the awkward Jabba the Hutt Guy dialogue and other interesting bits, ha!
I have chartered a permanent berth on the new trilogy hype freighter, so I am sure we will run into each other in the ol' Star Wars threads, @davidsdurions !
Thank you so much! this is awesome! Well done.

I am pretty sure there is like...somehow...one cup of sugar in each tiny square of that fudge.
It's amazing.
He joins us on the morrow. Time will tell.
I know, right?! Make sure you eat all the ones at the bottom of the box. That's where they hide the heroin.
Also, i'd refrigerate the fudge, as it can dry up - or devour it quickly.
So thanks if that was you! I will post tonight when I use it to do a loan
We just had to wait for the address of a properly deserving victim of such a truly Christmasy gift
and it had nothing to do with spool having misplaced it last year at all...really *cough*
Whelp.
Gotta get a new flask now.
I dunno actually. I know it's perishable. Just..not sure 'how'. I'm sure there's a google search that'll clear this up. I suspect it'll be devoured before we get to test either theory.
So!
Inside the store we go...
we go up to the counter and Bel asks an employee about mutter mutter mutter.
I lean over closer and go "...Hail Hydra."
I guess she was deep cover because she didn't react. It's cool, the place was pretty busy. But she and Belasco did go over to a gift section and search while I waited. Then into the locked gift section... where they returned with
Ooooooooooh this is the really good stuff. I've been banging on about how the cheap Four Roses tastes great... I'm super excited to get into the quality edition
Thank you! I still didn't know who you were!
Then while writing this, I got an email...
@Casual Eddy Holy crap this is really cool! I love America's Test Kitchen and this is amazing. I've heard about Cooks Illustrated before but obviously never gotten to see behind the paywall. Time to up my gaaaame!
These are great gifts, thank you!
four roses single barrel is yum
I think I'm going to enjoy the membership to Cooks Illustrated as much as spool is...after all someone has to taste test everything, right?
If you do refrigerate or freeze it, use airtight tupperware-esque plastic containers, they keep the moisture in and the rest of the fridge out

Thanks for all your help @Belasco32
