So last night I did the 50 levels of Holo Sim achievement with Hulk. Got the Doop and Cosmic Doop achievement along with the Sisterhood one. Got him from 1 to 35 along the way.
Was this a prestige character, or was it the first time you ever played him?
First time playing him. Hulk worked out nicely because he gets an early level AoE. Also because he is the strongest one there is.

I might do this myself. Did you run it solo or team up with a 2nd player?

I did it solo but I should have teamed up. If I had then I would have gotten the Brotherhood achievement.
I don't think I've ever bothered trying to get past level 15 of the holo-sim. I don't think I've ever tried it with a non-max level hero before either.
It's not a bad way to start off the leveling. Going in right at 1 has like one or two iffy waves before you just out level anything and murder it. I'd be kinda shocked if anybody actually managed to get to 50 without full Omega super cheesey build starting at 60 since the scaling is so aggressive.
Fuck! Tried to do the level 1 Holo-Sim thing to get a wave 50 Holosim, and somewhere around wave 30 I got the Protect the VIP mission and failed.
I'm super nervous about trying this because I always always always get the VIP mission a bunch. I can be doing a 10 wave SQ and I'll get it once or twice.
I enjoy Holo Sim and miss it being one of the daily challenges. The one-shots take a bit too long for efficient leveling. Right now I get the Genosha daily every morning and if it isn't a one-shot, I hit my legendary quests. After about an hour to an hour and a half I've finished the Midtown/ICP daily, the Genosha daily, several legendary quests and if I'm lucky the terminal daily too.
I played this when it launched, but picking up all the crafting loot (and the crafting itself) was tiresome.
I'm a huge Marvel fan though, and I'd like to get back into it. Frankly I'm a little intimidated. You guys seem to be speaking another language sometimes. All these currencies, and shards, and whatnot. Is there a good primer available?
Also, aren't both Dr. Doom and War Machine coming? They both sound fun. A new character sounds like the perfect time to dive back in.
Hero and costume buy one, get one random free (BOGO) plus chase costumes and boosts on sale. There is 7 day price protection on everything so if you bought something in that timeframe before the sale you should get refunded the difference or get appropriate BOGO boxes. If you don't see refund/extras within a day or two submit a ticket to support and they will fix it.

That's gonna cover a lot of people who came home from Age of Ultron and picked up a new costume while full of Marvel zealotry.
Myself included.

Bought She-Hulk and got a spider-man dupe from the bogo box. Bah.
Atleast I unlocked Ghost Rider earlier with my splinters. That made up for it somewhat.

edit- unless of course the Ultron-inspired costumes are not part of the deal. They're also not an option to come out of your random costume box.
It is blowing my mind that there is STILL no way to find out when their sales start or stop. They list off every possible detail and problem...except for the most important one of 'when is this sale actually in effect'.
The sale started earlier today and will most likely end Friday. It wasn't a preplanned sale (Brevik decided to have it while on stream Sunday to celebrate the huge population numbers) so it was thrown together in a hurry.

That's because it comes and goes with patches, which are kind of nebulous on the dates
I installed this again last night after seeing Age of Ultron hoping to get back into it. I just was sort of overwhelmed logging in. I had to reallocate powers for every character, got a bunch of achievements and my inventory and my stash are full and I'm not sure what's worth keeping. I might try in a bit to sort it all out but I think it is going to be a pain.
I'm also debating on a new character though I really shouldn't, I have a ton at Level 1 that I haven't really played yet. Has everyone gotten their character review yet?
@Dirtyboy made all my Iron Man dreams come true! I only own 6 total heroes on the roster, I have 1k Gaz Bucks. This bogo sale seems like something I should do. Is there one hero in general that is kind of a consensus you must lvl this hero for synergy and fun that I should be looking at? I wish there was just Random Hero boxes I could buy =P

Not Thing, Cable and Deadpool.
Characters that were reviewed around last summer may well have issues with being up to par for current characters.
Most of the Avengers are in very very solid places right now.

Cyclops's synergy is universally quite good. And Juggernaut is absurdly fun. Running around stiff arming dudes then elbow dropping anyone left.

I was thinking about just getting a big bruising hero, all of my guys are finesse types, I do own the thing as I got him as a starter hero but I wont play him till after his review.

Everything is about dps now. If you want to jump in on the Legion Scarlet Witch train she can stand tall with all cosmics and most one shots without blinking an eye. And by this I mean I tele into the boss room and face tank errything. Plus you get to say "you've got red on you" all the time which is only a bonus.
Cyclops has been the best character to play while cradling a sleeping infant and only being able to use one hand. Just put Channeled Blast on the left mouse button, combat roll on the right, and Focused beam on a 3rd button and you're good to go. Spinning lasers of death with extra damage on single targets.

On the TC at the moment she's not triggering Legion or any Omega based proc. Might be a mistake, a test or an incomming nerf.
It is fun. She is still super strong without it though as I geared her up prior to hearing about it. And was still able to face tank all cosmics with relative ease and still solo all the one shots. Now if they nerf chaos rift that will be a big meh.

Also Quicksilver is up on the TC for those that bought the team up pack.

The MH forums are actually pretty alright as far as official game forums go
Check out the Gameplay Guides subforum and the subforum for whatever hero you are playing
Though anything you could say on PA aside from exploits/selling or being unconstructively critical won't cause you any trouble.
They actually take constructive criticism incredibly well.

Something I've never figured out, are you guys running some sort of mod that changes the nameplates? They look waaay different than mine.

which is better than a BOGO sale
