I remember the first real time I watched Alien (first I was too young to remember). It was only 2 years ago, and my wife and I were so totally engrossed, we didn't notice the apartment building just up the hill burning to the ground.
300 yards away, massive fire, sirens and fire trucks, no one injured, and I find out from my co-worker the next day because Alien was so damn good.
I ran Steam Cleaner today and cleared out 500 MB of useless install clutter.
Friendly reminder to dust those digital cobwebs, Steam thread!
Its a good thing you reminded me.....

Abyss Odyssey is one of the midweek sales. I watched some videos of it when it came out and it looked like a neat roguelike platformer thing. Plus it's made by the same people who made Zeno Clash and Rock of Ages, so you know it's going to have some weird shit in it.
I also can't help but autocorrect its name in my head to Albert Odyssey, which is a completely different PS1 game...which I own and yet never played. My backlog problems started long before Steam!
I actually have a growing collection of PA forumer addresses.
All part of the plan, you see.
Is that why you send out free computer parts to forumers in need as you did for me? Because I'm okay with this trade-off.
All Hail our Pink Overlord!
As a Steam related question, I seem to be having trouble logging in while I'm in the office now. Possibly the IT guy got around to finally blocking it but is there any way I can confirm this without straight up asking him? I can use the site and I used to be able to fire up offline mode. I've tried deleting Steam and reinstalling and now this is the error I get:
Are there any other things I can try to fix it?
You could try using a VPN to see if steam works when you're on the VPN connection.
Tomb Raider Everything is the daily at 80% off. A couple of reminders if anyone here doesn't own the new one yet (hah!) and is thinking of picking it up: all the DLC (except the Lara skins) are just for the crap and dead multiplayer. The base game is all you need. And at three quid (so, four-something for the Americans?), you should. It's one of the best games of recent years even if you never cared for the old ones.
@Big Classy and myself managed to gift each other at damn near the same second. We had the same idea after some talk in chat about steam freezing. Except what I did was only 60 bloody cents.
The Longest Journey and Dreamfall are some of my favourite adventure games. TLJ is also really high on my favourite games ever list. So I was very much looking forward to Dreamfall Chapters. Thank you so much Isy. You are the best.
Holy crap, steam cleaner cleared up 2.6GB of space for me.
Thanks for the reminder, you classy lot.
I just had it confirmed at work today that, since I'm on a zero hour contract and work flexible times, I've worked more hours than even the full-time people and as such am getting paid the most out of everyone for October.
I'm pretty attached to my avatar image. I floated around between a number of random images over time until I managed to get this one from Abby Howard. And I've stuck with it ever since.
So I'm not likely to change it. But if I were still searching for one to hang on to. This screenshot of Watson creeping around a corner would be mighty tempting.
He seems to be on an unstoppable class rampage. @Big Classy got me Dreamfall Chapters too! Man, I don't even know what to say, so many years waiting for the game and now you made it a reality. One of the best series from my favorite genre of games, thank you so much! :heartbeat:

Thanks again, @Iolo! You are one classy fellow. A classy fellow who apparently enjoys spreading terror among forumites but we love 'im anyway.
I have the house to myself tomorrow evening so I might get a chance to dive in then. If not, then this weekend. In either case, I will have handy a large, thick blanket to hide under on demand.
You know what I'd watch? You streaming yourself watching Alien/Aliens for the first time ever.
/blink
What kind of monster are you?
Besides, how much fun would it be to watch somebody hide under a blanket and whimper for two hours?

There's one tomb DLC too, which adds another...tomb to raid. There's only a handful of tombs (like seven or so?) in the base game, but note that all of them (including the DLC one) are basically a single puzzle.
(Also, the mountaineer outfit totally makes the snowy mountain part of the game seem less hazardous.)

Yes and yes. I forgot the tomb. and the skins are fine at the discounted prices. I'm quite fond of the Sure-Shot archery one.

...alright, maybe you don't. at least, not entirely. But rest assured I'm not a xenomorph.
It would be fun and interesting and informative! For reasons.
I don't know what I did to @Ed Gruberman but whatever it was, he's sending me to the stars for it.
Yay, thanks! This one looked really intriguing when I first saw it and I'm eager to check it out.
I got the original non-Steam version of this in a bundle last year. Nice adventure/puzzle game. The big plot twist isn't hard to guess, especially if you're familiar with the games obvious cinematic influences, but in a funny sort of way it made it better, because I spent half the game in a state of tension waiting for the shoe to drop.
So, I figure I'm rather late to the party, I just got Victoria 2 off the last Paradox sale. Speaking as someone who's taken CK2 and EU4 out to the woodshed, holy balls, is it dense.
I mean, it's got more -isms than you can shake a rifle at. Industrialism, imperialism, liberalism, nationalism, racism. I'm sure I'm missing a few -isms.
CK2 may still have my heart for favorite game in the "Staring at maps of Europe" genre, but Victoria 2 has my mind whirring at all the possibilities.

You know what you did. And I realized I never properly thanked (by way of gift) you for it. So don't you dare think of gifting back. Least I could do.
