I still like hunting zone 2/3 if I want materials in general for several units. Then if I need a specific material I'll check terrabattlex to see where it drops and run that specific level.
Nice. I just confirmed that it doesn't matter what level your CC bots are in metals. I went into metal zone 3 (level 39 enemies) and was paralyzing runners every single time with my level 15 mothbot, a C tier mob with a 100% proc Area 2 paralyze.
Am I correct in believing that elemental skill damage (e.g., fire arrows) for sword/bow/spear users is based on the matk stat, not the patk stat?
It looks like job3 stats other than hp surpass job1 stats several levels ahead - e.g., 8-10 levels ahead for kuscah, kem and bahl at about job1 level 45 / job 3 level 36. And job3 hp is superior well before that. Apparently, it pays to switch jobs aggressively, even if you're well into the game. It's only taken me a couple of days to level my primary team's job3s to 35+.
Oh man, I'm so glad I jobbed up my Space Wizard before Samatha. He was totally useless as an attacker before, but now we're all flying AND he can shoot things.
In the process of farming HZ2 Tin Parade enough times to finally get my third rainbow tear for Kuscah's job change, I've wound up with enough particles for a few character's third jobs once I get enough money.

Man, I've been farming HZ2 today, and I haven't gotten a single rainbow tear. I have gotten 3 of two other types of tears, and have a few of the particles also. I hadn't done much material farming prior to yesterday, but I'm realizing I probably should have done some sooner. I'm only on chapter 11, but I could really use more job 2's than just Grace (and Bahl who isn't on my team since I got her much later).
Also, I really wish the kings would show up in the HZ's more often. At least in today's, I could reliably kill him if he showed up, and he dropped a lot of the rare items, but he only showed up in maybe 1/3 of the runs.
Aaand, just as I was about to go back in for another run of tin parade, it resets to puppet show.
Used the energy, got Grace. Now she is in 2nd place at 41% behind Kuscah at 46%, but Kuscah had 2 dupes. Daiana is in 3rd at 39% and never got a dupe to help her.
The art lacks polish, yeah. It really does feel like a game based around a play concept they thought would work with just enough content to get a solid feel for it and as long as it looks like people like it and will play it then it keeps on getting developed until they eventually have enough resources put together to work on a full game proper.
It feels like a demo. Or at least a way to build support for what they really want to do -- a full game. It's a brilliant idea to be honest, you get to hype it up, refine the design, get a little income in, start work on various types of assets...

I got through chapter 12 with only Grace having a second job. A lot of characters don't get their second job's damage skill until level 35 and it's the stacking of two skills going off that can make them really powerful. Since Metal Zone 3 doesn't pop up until after chapter 12, you're unlikely to see that second attack skill on those characters before then.
Out of energy, out of stamina, out of money.... someone gimme your credit card i need to borrow 60$!
Im just now working through chapter 10. At what point is the first really challenging level happen? I haven't really brrn focusing on jobs or farming, just metal zones and working through the story. I did reroll until i got one SS but thats about it. Just wondering if there is a road blocj coming up

12-2? The flail guy. And then 13-8, 14-4? 17, and then 18. 21 are the major difficulty jumps so far, but I'm only on 24.
I really need a sleep/paralysis guy to do metal dungeons 2 or 3. I finally see 38thDoe's issues with metal dungeons. Most of my guys are at job level 20 and above and really need to get up to level 40+
Try rolling the PoF. There are C tier monsters with sleep / paralysis ready and willing to serve. You don't even need to level them as they will land 100% as long as you bring the right CC to the right metal tier.

It really depends on your party composition. My big one was the 12-10 fight where I couldn't quite take out some of the enemies quickly enough before I started getting picked off. Others have had issues with an earlier boss involving lots of lava tiles.

Thankfully a Mothbot is farmable for a 100% activation paralysis AoE.

I have Bahl, Sheena, O'pari, Kursch, Kem, and sabertooth king in my party. I havent drawn any casters yet. I would love some variation but i just keep drawing b grade sword characters for the most part.

Sheena wrecks stuff for a while. The jump in stats from a B or A to SS character is significant. That may be why you've breezed through things though I don't recall having much trouble before chapter 11 even with just Bs and As.
You should at least get one caster soon when the Bahamut event starts again tomorrow.
Am I going to hate myself? Any element I should take?
If you are underleveled, or possibly at level. He has a pattern, so try and follow it and dodge him until he gets low on health. Then he does warning, full screen AOE of death. At this point you either need the DPS to clear him fast or the life/mdefense to survive the hits. Allegedly Fire does extra damage to him.

I can confirm.
Bahamut was wrecking him for over 1200 at level 32 per Fire Pincer. Everyone else was doing mid 400-600 for specials.

Did a double pull with energy (5 free from 1mil + 5 normal for beating chapters). Got a second S'naip and Pahrl. Happy for the bow love, but damn, I could use a decent Spear user. Mages are more than making up for it though, so I can't really complain, circle of carnage be damned.

Make sure you're using Ba'gunar when you do 10-10, the boss is basically unkillable if you don't have a lightning elemental attack available. I imagine you'd be able to just burst him down if you're very overleveled, but that isn't likely to be the case your first time there.
On a related note, I hope we get some more descended dungeons to round out the elements. I've pulled 3 ice characters (A'merpact, Gigojago, and U'Nasag), all of whom I have in my normal team, but the only other elemental characters I've gotten were the freebie Ba'gunar and now Bahamut. I don't even have any generics that do dark yet.

Yeah, after farming yesterday and today a fair amount, I realized this too. I got Grace her 3rd job, Gigojago his second, and S'naip, who I'm not even using regularly, his second job. And none of them are particularly worth switching to at the moment, as they'd require leveling back up and as you said, none unlock new attacks until at least 35. Gigojago's 2nd job doesn't actually have an attack until 65, and it switches him to a staff user so he does less direct damage too.
It's kind of impossible to see what character's that person is using so maybe Control Time is involved, but if not I'm pretty confident in saying I will never be that fast or accurate.
Anyone else finding it weirdly easier to unlock 3rd jobs for people than 2nd ones? Like I've only unlocked job 2 on Bahl, Nakupi, Zerro, Kuskah, R'zonand, and Burbaba, but without really trying I already have the resources (other than money) to upgrade 3 of them. But what I really want to do is get 2nd jobs on a few more (Zenzoze, Gegonago, maybe Manmer).
Also the way resources overlap I have to choose between getting job 3 on BOTH Burbaba and Kuskah or just Bahl. Boooooo.
Finally I think I'm figuring out Puppet Show but hot damn is the optimal strategy boring. Oh yay another turn of just sitting around waiting for them to come to me. Huzzah.

Puppet show is not a place for grand, elaborate strategies. On the plus side, i tend to get more items than from the other zones since I manage to kill so many enemies per run.

Screw you, Toxoid. Screw you.
Ended up using a Beastman Mage (Dark) levelled up to 35. The lack of a Pincer attack really shows how much better the B-SS mage characters are.
