If friends and stuff ever starts working on xbox one at any point, I need to do a weekly event, and haven't done the nightfall nor heroic at the highest difficulty yet if anybody wants to try that.
Huh. So, before today I never got a exotic bounty. Last bounty turn in for third char gave me yet another one. One bounty per char for three char's in one day... There has got to be something fiddling with the RNG in the background.
I had the exact same thing happen.

If you see me on give me a holler. I'm on my lock atm, but would switch to my Titan np to help out with those.
I can't decide on a special for defender pvp. Im stuck between Invective, which is insta-death but a slooooow reload and small clip, and Pocket Infinity, which will wipe out a zipcode with a more manageable reload, but needs to charge.
The idea is to use in synergy with Ward of Dawn, popping in and out, unloading, then retreating back in to refresh the overshield.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
What the hell. Why is this game so repetitive until you get to the end-game? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Even the PVP is repetitive (and you basically just waste time running around dying if you aren't leveled, because you have almost no skills).
At one point I was doing the 6 Patrols bounty, and the game had me run literally the exact same route to kill the exact same mobs at least 3 times in a row. The only meaningful difference between the quests were whether or not it was Admiral Raan or Captain Mal talking to me in the beginning.
I'm only Level 12, and if it weren't for Hex showing up and breaking the monotony I would already be seriously thinking about quitting.
The PVP is PVP. It's either inherently fun for you or it isn't, really. I'd say pre-12 or so is pretty rough, but once you have the basics unlocked and some good greens, you should be good to rock.
The best PVE content is the raid, which is super fantastic. I found leveling in the story missions fun enough, though patrols are a little boring.
Also apparently hitting an opponent with Suppressor grenade cancels supers including Bladedance and Sunsinging. Wow lol. They also can't grenade, shield, super or blink while afflicted. I can't wait to shut down a blancer with this and see the look on his face when he drops to zero super bar.

well i just got my Hunter to level 20 and thanks to the legendary gear i picked up with my Titan i've jumped straight to LL 24. get some decent weapons on him and he'll be ready to farm the daily and weekly events for ascendant mats in no time.

So I absolutely HAVE to finish the story mode otherwise Mars wont unlock for me? My Hunter is 25 and still hasn't passed Venus.

Maxed out Thorn. ULTIMATE POWER... just kidding, time to switch to the next gun. Darn you inherent need to be filling bars!
Speaking of Bar filling, I hit level 3 Rep with Dead Orbit. Immediately dissed them and signed up with FWC... who have a MUCH nicer cape. When all bar filling is done, I might actually stick with them for day-to-day bar filling.
Raid people: let me know if/when you're thinking of a run this week. If I'm in some kind of secondary group again, I'll deal (but I do have Epilogue...)

New Monarchy seems to be the pick when it comes to Weapons to unlock.

My understanding is this only worked because it wasn't a split super like they normally use, which in fact usually murders everyone because they run to the bubble for false protection.

I roll Vortex, but that's because I mostly play Control. I super to kill, yes, but I also super to keep people the fuck off my point until backup arrives.

I use Shockwave on the titan super, and the defender always stands smugly in his bubble instead of running away like he goddamn should.

Dead orbit has disc and str gear which I want as a warlock for PVP which is why I went with them. More punching for shields and grenades, discipline for grenades, and more super from grenade kills on a piece of gear. All of this equals more supers and more more grenades!
Of course now I've been playing as void and just for the always spawn with grenade chest so I don't know. I also have the helm but with increased drain effects but not sure how good it actually is.
One thing I have to say about Iron Banner is that it keeps all the super-tough people out of the way so I can work on getting Thorn with my Hunter. This is still really intense, but at least I'm making progress!

Haha yeah, when I was finishing up my thorn bounty at the start of Iron Banner week, it was really nice to have all the Mythoclasts absent whilst I fusion rifled everyone.
OMFG how much kills make a "spree" for these IB bounties?
Machine gun spree is 3 kills without reloading, I think the standard headshot one is 3 headshot kills in one life?
Correct, you can reload for the headshot one. For some reason it is named bullseye, instead of "headshot spree" as it says on the bounty.
There is also a fusion rifle spree, which is 3 kills without reloading. The buckshot bruiser medal is 3 shotguns kills without reloading. There is a handgun type spree too, which is also named differently on the bounty than the medal, but I can't seem to remember either name right now.

So, I am current away from home on a two week business trip, xbone is too heavy to bring with me on the plane, xbox 360 is less so. So I bought destiny for 360 today.
Haven't actually entered a mission yet, but once it installed and I logged in 31 achievements unlocked all at once. It took a while, I did not anticipate that.
I hope it actually works. I am anticipating a cavalcade of centipedes and chickens and whatever else once I return to my room and try to start a mission.
Best thing to hear on Blind Watch: "Enemy has captured point A"
Worst thing to hear on Blind Watch: "Point A secured"
Worsterest thing to hear on Blind Watch: "Total domination"
Though I have been in groups where they now that A is totally evil; we started at A and everybody ran forward and never tried to capture A; sadly we started with 5 people, and when a sixth joined he promptly went for that point

No wonder I never got any of those medals. I'm used to Halo where the sprees are always just kills without dying.

Can't agree more. Until I hit the super lag matches I was rocking that thorn bounty. My previous experience with pvp was ~.5 kd in a good round. Most matches were pretty even spread in kd as well. Last time I tried it a couple folks massively dominated each round.

I'll post my thoughts after this evening.
In one of the most recent games of Iron Banner I played, it was blind watch, I was on a team of 6, the other team was 5, but had a few level 29s and a 30. It ended up 5 v 3 (in our favour), our team capped A and they proceeded to dominate us. Then more people joined their team, and my team dropped. It was classic A point shenanigans.

So this thing about not taking Point A on Blind Watch. I kind of get it, but I have to ask:
If no one takes Point A, and your team can't secure B or C, aren't you effectively holding A? In other words, won't you spawn exactly where you don't want to anyway, except without the bonus points?
Just got a Timur's Lash which feeds ammo directly into th magazine on kills, and it deals bonus damage after kills. Pretty much the perfect roll, except it doesn't have the extra ammo perk. Though I guess in PvE, with all the onehitkill fodder, it's still a practically bottomless well of ammo. Hell yes!
Also - I totally hit Rank 3 this match. Now all I'm missing is *History in Rust*.
What the hell. Why is this game so repetitive until you get to the end-game? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Even the PVP is repetitive (and you basically just waste time running around dying if you aren't leveled, because you have almost no skills).

Patrols are supposed to be repetitive. They are just things to do while in freemode. You can go the whole game without having to do one if you like. Or go on to the Story mode...
As per usual, Bungie is trolling me again with their unclear descriptions. Feeds ammo on kills directly into magazine sounds like it's a certainty, but it's more like a 50% proc - so yeah. Trolls!
Huh. So, before today I never got a exotic bounty. Last bounty turn in for third char gave me yet another one. One bounty per char for three char's in one day... There has got to be something fiddling with the RNG in the background.
Both my alts got their first exotic bounty today. They've turned in roughly the same number of bounties so I'm wondering if there is some hidden counter or something. Still not sure I'm gonna take either. They're all ones I've done before, except Thorn and I still don't have that finished on my Titan.

I believe it's just Gate Lord's Eye to unlock Mars (then the reef cutscene stuff). The unlocks are a bit weird.
