Got a legendary primary engram! Woo! So far my only purple primary has been the low impact pulse rifle I got for hitting rank 3 Vanguard, let's see what it is.
Oh
The low Impact Crucible Pulse Rifle
Cool
I just got a level 20 blue auto rifle from strikes I had never seen the "brand" before. Full RoF bar, super low impact. It is hilariously bad. I used it to do like a patrol mission to hit Vanguard 3 and by the end of it I was ready to disassemble it.
Of course, rank 3 vanguard gave me a legendary Scout Rifle with magazine ammo on kill so that'll do just fine.
Ah yes, the Shingen
Not a fan
That's the model of AR that Atheon's Epilogue uses, as well, which is why I don't think I'd bother using it outside of circumstances where doing Void damage 100% of the time is useful, or you need to burn down some Oracles.
If people are offended by being called out that's more on them. Exploit is exploit. I exploit the nightfall weekly. A duck is a duck is a duck.
As anti-social as I am, I still recognize that telling an ugly woman that she's ugly is impolite.
You're not wrong to say it, and you have the right to say it, but that doesn't mean you should say it.
Calling someone ugly to them has malice and cruelty attached, calling someone an exploiter in a fully neutral sense has neither. That's a pretty huge difference.

The Shingen is amazing. You must surely be thinking of something else - like the eclipse.

Oh no, no no no. I use the Shingen. It's got some recoil but I find that reasonable.
This POS made the Shingen look like a fucking laser.
I probably would not exploit the Atheon fight if only because if Bungie sits down and decides it goes against the spirit of the encounter or their intention, I can see them revoking or deleting out hard mode rewards from those who won them through the exploit.
So bye bye a lot of Mythoclasts. Which may not be a bad thing.
The only reason I'm thinking the platform method for Templar may not be an exploit is because of the cleanse mechanic. However if you do the fight correctly no one ever needs to be cleansed anyway.

"Exploit" already has negative connotation, just like "ugly." There is no "neutral sense."

Yeah, I was gonna say the Shingen is neat, and a great starter to mid-range PVP AR.
in PVE maybe not so much?
You're thinking of the Sahara. I have one max RoF, low Impact, 64 Round magazine. I loved it in PVP. I used it as more of an SMG than a rifle, hip fire and run and gun.

Well, he could just be less of a goose about how others choose to play their super srs video games. Try not to get off on telling people they did it wrong, or in a manner akin to cheating (which is implied with "you'd have a more fun time doing it the right way"). The definiton of exploit is 'to take advantage of meanly or unfairly for one's own gain' which is like, kinda negative. Again, nobody was told how to do the raid fights, there's no Prima official strategy guide we are defying when it comes to this 'exploit'. The only thing making this an 'exploit' are pedantic people who get hung up words, when grey areas exist in the real world.
I mean Bungie has updated things pretty aggressively. All they would have to do is put a kill zone over the blocks, or remove the shield cleanse mechanic, or spawn enemies on the blocks... It's not a hard thing to fix... which means they probably intentionally made it this way.
If Bungie did that, it would be pretty stupid and totally ignorant of the way people play loot-based games.
It's no one's fault that the Atheon bug works except Bungie's. The right thing for them to do would be fix it quickly, let people keep their shit, and move on.
Huh. I was dying a LOT to Shingen-E's in IB, but I was also doing the majority of my killing with a Silvered Hushwind-D. I got a Shingen-E the other day and haven't upgraded it yet, but it just feels weaker in my hands than my Hushwind. I wonder what the deal is there? Maybe I just need the damage upgrade for it to "pop" (skulls).
Yeah, they didn't roll back the loot people got from the Treasure Cave, they just fixed the Treasure Cave and said "You guys really need to get out more"

Sure, one's upgraded and the other isn't but look at that tiny impact bar and the difference in Stability bars.
Okay yeah it's been awhile since I have used either model, for some reason I thought they were the same
For what it's worth, Epilogue does use the Sahara model,
EDIT: Okay yeah, Sahara was actually the one I was thinking of, not Shingen.
I don't actually know if I've ever even used the Shingen, because I was conflating it with the Sahara in my mind. Maybe I'll give it a shot the next time one drops.
Well, looks like the Royals game will be rained out tonight, anyone interested in doing VoG on xbone?
I have a 27 Titan that needs to run it. I had planned on hitting up destinylfg.net tonight, but I'd much rather run with a P-A team.
I'm morgancoke on xboxlive, I've got a 28 titan. So, we're at 2 now.

I agree, to a point. I think they've demonstrated that they're listening to the community about problems with the game, even if they aren't fixing them as quickly as they should.
I'd be downright shocked if they started rolling back accounts. I just don't think they're that stupid. The fallout would be huge.

Isn't the hush wind broadly similar to the shingen? The crucible version, if you will?
Yes, Bungie did not roll back any items that were gotten from the loot cave. However, the loot cave did not give you gear that got you to LL30, or gamebreaking weapons like the Mythoclast

I doubt that bungie even has the capacity to roll things back - or rather if they do, it'd probably be an expensive and worthless exercise.
So, why are minotaurs called minotaurs when hobgoblins have horns (and minotaurs look like big goblins)
Also the vexes are a surprisingly tall, gobbos dwarf guardians.
Furthermore:
Hydra, Harpy, Minotaur, Cyclops, Gorgon -> Greek
Hobgoblin and Goblin -> Germanic
Templar -> Neither of those
Praetorian -> Roman, like Legionary, Phallanx, Centurion, Collosus
What next Bungie?!
Ah well as a former Bungie employee I can confirm that the Vex classes were in fact hastily named at the last minute after our lead writer left early on the Friday before we went gold, and the rest of the team had to draw names from a bucket so we could get it done in time.
Trust me, I'm telling you the truth.

I do like the flexibility of the icebreaker, but as far as actual snipers go Patience and Time is superior in my opinion. Better stability and being able to reload is way useful, especially in pvp.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.
Sorry for the Chicken Little. Any word on the next event or is it straight to DLC?

Firstly, I didn't say anyone did anything right or wrong. I even exactly stated that I wasn't. I even went out of my to say that the literal definition is something that certain encounters in this game fit into. Not only that, I even acknowledged my own exploitations of the system. Now naturally I don't take offense to being called a goose, but in this instance I'm not quite sure I'm a fan of you being shitty without even bothering to address me and instead add it in a backhanded reply.
So by your reply you're expressly stating running up to atheon and pushing him off denying all mechanics of the game with one single grenade and solo is NOT an exploit? I mean, me being pedantic and you being so open minded here. I mean, after all, we weren't told the rules of the game and how to play so clearly there's no culpability in how we act in game!

Also we anticipated 10m daily players per-platform, the DLC is finished and on the disc but will now be scrapped (discs will be recalled and replaced, digital copies redownloaded minus the extra content), and Activision execs don't flush the toilets when they visit the office.
I am referring to the Templar fight technique of sitting in the left-most block, the one Fawst mentioned intially which caused you to rant about exploits. I didn't even know there was a trick for Aetheon but that one sounds waaay more unintentional than the one you accused Fawst of 'abusing'.
