For health, we have devised a limb-based system with varying degrees of severity, permanence and reaction that we feel makes FPS combat more tactical and interesting.
Normal – You are fit and ready to fight!
Hurt – Hurt limbs can cause problems with aiming, walking, or other functions that would require that limb. Limbs can get hurt from being too close to an electric spark, flame, outer explosion, or being hit with objects in the environment. Light Armored players can quickly be hurt.
Damaged – Damaged limbs are useless and the player cannot use them unless they get them patched up in the field or taken to a mobile trauma system (see: Healing). This is the state right after the hurt phase, where the pain is so severe to the player, that no matter what limb is damaged, they will have a hard time being mobile. If one of their legs are damaged, they fall to the ground and crawl.
Ruined – Limbs in this phase are essentially gone. The player will most likely bleed out at this state. This is usually something as bad as your arm being blown off. If the ruined limb is an arm then you will not be able to aim any weapons that require it. For example two handed weapons require both arms to be outside the Ruined state. Screen effects are also present to simulate the pain the player is enduring in this state. If the player is able to be healed by a player with medical equipment, the limb is completely gone and cannot be used, but the player can at least move around and continue the fight (if they have their legs, that is!)

Okay, so the Anniversary Sale thing is happening. Looks like a chance to score some rare ships and make them not so rare. Most of them look like they come with 2 year insurance.

In addition to the limited ships above, we will also be offering limited allotments of a brand new Star Citizen capital ship! Friday, November 28th will see the launch of the largest capital ship we will make available to players during the pledge campaign: the Javelin destroyer. 200 Javelins will be sold for $2,500 each, with allotments being released at 6 AM, noon, 6 PM and midnight Pacific time. You’ll learn a lot more about the Javelin on Friday, but it’s important to note that this isn’t the ultimate battleship for players who can afford it: Javelins will be sold stripped of military hardware, and it will be a new starting challenge for players to work together with their organizations to outfit them. The Javelin comes with LTI.
But that’s not all! We’re making the Javelin available for hardcore players who are dedicated to supporting Star Citizen… and we’re using the opportunity to allow new players to join the game as well. We’re using the assortment of Javelin destroyers to subsidize discount packages for new players: 200 Javelins means we can make 5,000 $20 Aurora game packages available for sale at the same time!
Goes on sale on Black Friday.
I bet every single one is gone within a minute of the sale opening.

Though to be fair... I'd love for some more ships in an affordable price range. Lately it's all been in the hundreds of dollars, save maybe the Herald, but even that was >300i levels of pricey. I'm saving my Aurora LX package to be melted when Avenger variants come out and I might want to upgrade, but other than that, not really feeling the need to invest anything more. Last year's anniversary sale gave us the Merchantman and Karthu, this year there's just this terribly overpriced future piece of salvage that is orders of magnitude too pricey for me.
Being spent on an HTPC/File Server/Steam Box project and a WiiU. :rotate: Besides, I need something to work towards once we're all actually playing this game!
The scary part is that I totally could melt down a few ships, buy the Javelin with the store credit, and still have a sizeable fleet left over.

I would love to know how spending on the game became some sort of thing to strive for. I rarely care about such things yet I still caught myself looking for specs on the destroyer. I'm too cheap to replace my 15 year old truck but dang if virtual space ships don't look tempting.

My motivation is partly driven just by wanting to fund not just this game but the space sim genre as a whole. I wasn't terribly sold on Elite and I still bought into the Premium Beta just to help send the message that the space sim fans aren't fucking around (and besides, who knows, maybe I would have ended up getting hooked).
That aside, the rest of the motivation is entirely due to this game continually shaping up to actually wear that "best damn space sim ever" title seriously and my wanting to help make that a reality. After all, it's not like I got kids to feed.

This is where it's at for me too. I didn't jump in on the Kickstarter because I thought it was too ambitious, bonce I was convinced it was going to be something great I was all in to make sure it could be the best thing possible. I certainly haven't spent as much as a few, but I'm in for my share. I'll throw some disposable income at a game I plan to play for years because that is exactly the type of game I enjoy. I rarely spend money on games that I can't do that with.
At this point, it may be shaping up to wear more than just "best damn space sim."

Hello friends, for someone looking at picking up a cheap package. What is the best bang for buck??
Depending on how cheap you're trying to go, there is going to be some $20 aurora packages soonish. I don't think we know everything included yet, but given it's a package and not just a ship, I would assume it comes with some amount of game/alpha/beta access.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Spaceships > Children
Children with Spaceships > Spaceships
Spaceships > spaceships with children > children with spaceships > children, and that's about as all-encompassing as I can get.
Gah, that $55 upgrade for the base hornet to the two seat variant has "Danger Zone" stuck in my head constantly. Difficulty, finding someone willing to be my Goose. Course now that the last house in the area we're looking in fell short of being acceptable, and nothing else likely to hit the market until January...I might break down and get it.

I'll be your goose, and I already have the tomcat.
...and when you are done with that; take a folding
chair to Creation and then suplex the Void.
Tom cruise, Goose, Meg Ryan sandwich (In that order). We can only wish a remastered version includes such a thing. Bonus if they make Goose into an ethereal form similar to Ghost.
...and... pets! Now we'll need a space suit for our space pet.
Also, in case you missed it, they're having a ship spotlight every evening this week. First was the Retaliator, yesterday it was the Gladiator, and today's is the Karthu-Al. Nice beauty shots in them!
If by "leak" you mean screengrabs from the latest episode of Around the Verse...
Technically, that episode came out two hours ago.
The first pictures were found well before with a glitch that let some people add the carrack to their shopping cart which generated the url of the ship's gallery page not that it matters now.
What matters now is that my kids aren't getting anything for christmas because... they... they've been bad. Yes. ...my shame! She burns!

It varied depending on just how many of them Janeway had gotten killed by the end of the episode.

If you own any of the ships on sale without LTI its a pretty good deal to melt it for a free insurance upgrade.
I personally don't care about LTI either way, but going from 6 months to 24 months for $0 is a great deal.
