A little character design I did using some new stuff I learned.

For not using any reference I feel like it's pretty solid? Like, not perfect but just building up shapes and then using whatever bits of anatomy knowledge I've got to create a character I think it's decent enough. The big problem for me is the face. Face hard. My goal here is to actually really simplify my style. I'd like to be flexible, like being able to do a more mainstream, realistic comics style (like here, I guess) and also a more stylized and simplified version. Like what you might see in anime or animation, while not being anime. I want to get good enough to have realistically proportioned characters without spending too much time on them like I did here. I've thought about starting a general character development and design thread but as little as I get to really sit down and draw these days I don't know if it would be worth it to start a new thread.
