First of all I don't know how much you have to do this to trigger it. I wouldn't expect it to happen after one or two matches. More people probably don't know about this because it's not the kind of thing that can happen randomly. It probably takes multiple matches against the same set of people and have like 80% of the damage you deal all done to the same person in every match.
Obviously it can't happen in 1 on 1 matches anyway, mostly going to happen in For Fun, and targeting one player repeatedly seems like an attempt to make their game less fun. I think targeting one player relentlessly is kind of abusive.

I'm both pleased and disappointed with Ridley. I'm glad he got such considerable love, but I still would have preferred he was playable. The one true sin is that horrible design they used.
Woooow this whole update was great! My one complaint is that now that we know the complete functionality of the amiibo... they still seem pointless. Except as a bitchin' trophy. Which is cool and i'm getting the Little Mac one.

I like the idea proposed by that video of using them to pad out local matches. Everybody gets to bring one Amiibo they've trained and fights on a team with it.
I also like that apparently they will get items, trophies, equipment etc. for you as they fight. That will only be worthwhile for so long but I didn't know about it before and that's a nice bonus.
Doubles never fails to make me happy after being whooped in For Glory 1v1. Hopefully the Wii U version is a little more stable online. Definitely died a few times trying to key people to death off stage with Game & Watch. The times I keyed and then parachuted up to the ledge felt SO GOOD.

So if someone is in the lead by a large margin I should be punished for trying to take him down? That just seems like nobody over at Nintendo thinks their online through.
"It's done! After two years of hard work, we managed to get two versions of Smash Bros. out the door!"

Okay, maybe I'm being crazy here, but I noticed something on fact 39. Announcer guy said there were 2600 possible combinations for fighters to play co-op Trophy Rush. That means there's 51 fighters available for the Wii U (51 x 51 = 2601)
There are only 49 fighters in the 3DS, with Mewtwo bringing that up to 50. Who is the 51st fighter?

One possibility is that the 3 different versions of the Mii Fighter were each counted, which would bring it up to 51 before the Mewtwo revelation. There's always the possibility for an extra surprise too, though!
I was kinda sorta thinking the Duck Hunt reveal might have been today. Feels weird doing what is probably the last Smash-oriented Direct without the last reveal video. What on earth are they saving it for?
And here's a stage prepared for a large number of fighters, Big Battlefield!! Fighters can spread out, so it should be easier battling on a stage like this.
RE: people thinking that the Ice Climbers might make a return via DLC, I suspect that the 8-player smash is in itself a consolation for/result of Ice Climbers being cut. The WiiU can handle eight fighters, but gotta keep the rosters identical? Let the WiiU handle eight fighters anyway just because its awesome and we can.
This certainly helps alleviate the sting of the Ice Climber's removal. Though I certainly hope they're back next time!

That would mean will actually be 2704 combinations once Mewtwo is released. THE ANNOUNCER LIED.
So, I don't wanna check the thread because I bet it's full of spoilers - is there anywhere I can watch the Direct now? It kind of was at 2 in the morning for me and I have to sleep.

So Amiibos sound like Dragon's Dogma Pawns you can carry around with you, train with, pit against your friend's, and team up with against 6 other fighters
I can't believe they sold me on a smash-flavored Skylanders.

I'm only halfway through it and I'm alredy squeeing. Palutena and viridi commentary? Proper music toggles? Giant stages? Proper special modes? Events? HELL yeah!
EDIT: That stage builder looks really, really good. No contest at all with the Brawl one. We will be able to make ourselves a good set of neutral stages with platforms even if the game doesn't include a lot of them.
Also, Mewtwo. Though I wonder how the "both copies" thing works with Mewtwo. Double Club Nintendo register?

Eh, to be honest I don't think so.

I am however super bummed that the Pirate Ship apparently isn't coming back. Super bummed about that, it was my favorite Brawl stage.
