Tried getting 8 kills on Cruel Smash. Best I can get is 5. Fuck Cruel Smash.
What happens at eight? Crazy challenge?
Challenge for getting 8 in general, and 8 for Lucina. There is another for 4 with Pit that has me completely lost on. Cruel smash has a lot of challenges.
Honestly the counter method on a TV should be much easier than the 3DS
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

I got 5 by using the recovery move from under the stage technique with Lucina. Not because that attack actually killed any of them (it seems to have zero launch ability) but just from Miis trying to chase me off the edge and falling to their doom.
I can get 2 or 3 kills by using counter, but the problem is Cruel Smash Mii Fighters only need to land one hit on you for a KO. The only way to get 8 kills is dumb luck, it seems.

What I did for Pit:
Bait them to a ledge, grab it, and attack to climb up when they get near. If at any point there's a single mii fighter standing around nearby, either because they were just out of range of your get up attack or the rest are gathering farther away, run up and back throw them, even at low percentages Pit's back throw is usually too low for them to recover
also probably use the right ledge because there you can angle his recovery into the platform to grab the ledge immediately instead of flying straight up in smashing range of the miis

You start launching them at around 180~+ % Whether they decide to return to platform our not is seemingly random though as I've seen one get up to 260 and keep returning and some seem to give up on life at 26.
So... some one give me advise on the Robin vs Villager matchup because it felt like that little murderer was picking me clean apart.

I could only get them up to about 150% before Lucina would decide to randomly pull herself onto the stage and get smashed into oblivion. Hmm.

A couple trophies I think. Not really worth it unless you habe a burning desire to do all the challenges. I kind of do, but I know my resolve will be tested by some of the more obnoxious ones.
Edit: Equipment for Lucina and a trophy for all the other Cruel Smash challenges so far save for getting one kill. Sorry for the double post. On medicine that has me all loopy.

Edit: It worked! Got my fourth kill a fraction of a second before flying off the stage. Man this method is risky but kind of fun.
I'm only decent at smash, but I was able to get the Lucina Cruel Smash trick to work. The trick is to quickly push down before anyone can get to the ledge, immediately jump into that little half-box, and up B. You have to get the rhythm -- down, jump, up B. It's doable.
(Edit: I'm actually finding that "survive a minute as Luigi" Cruel Smash challenge to be harder, since I'm trying the same method but the fighters don't get knocked back by the up B, leaving them free to sit there and whack me while I'm on the ledge.)
Unlike that #$*@?! Smash Tour Metroid challenge. Since the only time I saw one someone else got it, I've resorted to playing with all four characters controlled by me. Five more runs and that little fucker hasn't shown up. I can't hammer it, since I know I'm not good enough to do all the upper-level ones.

The Lucina trick works wonders but you have to be patient. The attack isn't strong enough to make them go flying but it will knock them off here and there and in most cases the Miis are terrible at making it back to the platform. In most cases it'll take 5-8 minutes to get all eight kills. You just have to get into the rhythm of drop-jump-up special. It takes some doing to get the right rhythm, but it feels awesome when it's done.
I still need to tack the Pit cruel challenge. I'll try the method mentioned above tonight.

Here is what I did. I managed it my first try I think, but it can require a little luck.
Grab the ledge and wait like you do with Lucina. When they come to attack do a recovery Attack and then jump back off and grab the ledge. This will re trigger the invulnerability period fortunately and send them all flying. Repeat until a minute has passed. Watch out for people waiting just outside of your Attack range especially if they are gunners. Shouldn't be too hard if you are only looking to survive, and might get a kill or two accidentally along the way.
I kind of like Smash Tour. It's a nice way to play random special smash without sitting there going "well, how about this time I do nothing but warp stars?"
It needs to either be faster paced with less power up bullcrap or just a tad slower to help the never ending onslaught of random be a little more understandable. They put it right inbetween "strategic board game" and "random ass crazy" and I feel it could have been a lot more fun one way or the other.
When my wife sets Smash up for us to play, she usually picks Smash Tour. It's dumb and we have a great time. I'm glad I'm not the only one here who doesn't hate it.

Cruel Melee stuff:
Some (most? Lucina and Pit, definitely) back throws on the edge will result in a KO because the Miis aren't good at recovering. No damage needed, they'll just fail to jump back to the ledge.
I got the 8 KOs with Lucina with a combination of that, forward smashes, and counters. Just wait for one Mii to approach on its own, grab it, toss it, then go back to smashing/countering the rest away until you can repeat. Oh, and at the very start if you dash right, wait a split second, and then counter, you can KO the first 3 Miis if you are lucky. You can consistently get 1 or 2 KOs if you get the timing down.
The ledge dropping trick works too, but takes way longer.
For Luigi, I think I mostly dropped down, did a jump and an up aerial, and then used up-B to recover while they were knocked back.
With Pit I just stood on the edge and threw them back.
Welp , adapter and GCN controller in the mail , paid $60 ish for both so it wasn't too bad. Can wait to get back on for glory. I loved playing on the 3ds but my hands hurt so bad.

Attempting a throw seems risky as they only need land one hit on you for a KO in most instances. I might give it a try later but I'm pretty close to just saying fuck it.

The trick to throws is to wait until only one is approaching, shield until they attack, and then grab right after. It's really safe if you just wait for the right situation.
And if you go the ledge route, then as Gnizmo mentioned, getting fully back on stage will refresh your invincibility on grabbing the ledge. That can be a pretty important trick to have handy, too.
But yes a lot of this stuff is just insanely unfair. I'm pretty sure I was almost literally hopping mad at the Lucario event.

Yeah, did that one last night for the secondary conditions.
It was less than fun.
Oddly, the Kirby one, which I hated the first time, was enjoyable once I knew the trick. Still hard, but fun.
One time I was playing coop Super Mario Wii U with Wiimotes, having a good time, and then a little platform pops up on the screen
I thought, "Huh, must be a part of the level," and a few more pop up in various places as we're running around
And then they're popping up all over the screen and I cannot figure out what is going on, but I hear lots of tapping behind me, and it was my cat pawing all over the gamepad screen trying to get Mario and Luigi
It was hilarious and cute, and then he bit onto the silicone cover on the gamepad and tried to drag his prize away

I have difficultly getting smashes in; that's generally my biggest problem. I generally have no issue dealing out a ton of damage but I can never get them flyin' off the stage.
The dash up-smash is a really good kill option for a lot of characters. It's important to be able to predict how people are going to react when you dash at them. For instance, if you notice that they usually roll away, you can predict that and keep running to where their roll would take them, which gets you a free up-smash.
I booted up Smash Tour to try out for the first time last night, and similar to other people here, I thought it was amusing. I probably won't play much beyond getting a few unlocks out of it on my own, but I can see it being a go-to mode for crazy parties. I like the idea of your characters being prizes for winning battles, and then counting as your stock at the end of the game. Similarly, the item rolls and stat boosts make things pretty interesting- clearly it and Smash Run were sort of conceptually parallel (short game of power-up collecting followed by duke it out battles), but further developed to play to each system's strengths.

I gave Cruel Smash another go using Lucina tonight. Got 10 kills on my first attempt, took about 6 mins. Entered a zen like state doing the up special from beneath the stage trick.
I very sincerely hope there are no challenges that require more than 10 kills in Cruel Smash.

So... any news on when Adapters will be restocked in the US? Wii pro controller is losing it's charm.
This one one of the major reasons I never was very interested in online gaming, no matter what the platform or what the game: I don't like being reminded how terrible I am.
You have played less than 30 matches. That's maybe an hour of playtime. In my first hour of Wii U on For Glory, my win rate was like 12.5%. I am now at like 68.5% or something.
Furthermore, I don't think For Glory has any kind of matchmaking, so there's no expectation of being around 50% win rate there. You can two-stock a bad player all day to increase your ratio, or tank it trying to learn to beat a hard opponent or bad matchup.
Basically, win percentages in For Glory are one of the most meaningless numbers out there.
I have a few potential mains, and I've gotten to 'Good enough to not completely embarrass myself while I'm losing'.
Control-wise,The default gamepad setup of 'Y to jump' is kind of awkward for me. Putting standard attacks on Y, leaving special attacks where they are and shifting jump to A is more natural for me. Took me several tries to get to it.
