That was a great episode, made even more noteworthy for being so without really having Roger and Stan in it (that was more like a C plot). Good Taco King joke too, I like it when animated shows recognize their use of food.
I...I am intrigued but haven't queued up any snake bite videos.
Wow, even for this show, that last Klause joke was DARK. Glad to have Jeff back. I wish they had a way to keep alien Jeff, though. Also, what will become of ghost Sinbad?
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.
I knew Jeff was a fake from the beginning because ghost Sinbad wasn't with him.
But it was a great episode. It didn't seem as scatter brained as a few of the other episodes this season. Even though the plot was ridiculous, it was still coherent.
"Stan Smith Is Keanu Reeves as Stanny Utah in Point Breakers "
the episode titles. are hilarious.

New season started Monday!
It was great!
The a-plot was funny and another Stan/Roger conflict with Roger's characters, Steve's B-plot was weird yet totally in character, and the show is just completely giving up on trying to be open to new viewers and just doubling down on the loyal fanbase. It's great.
Go Bazooka Sharks! Never go near a tree when you're holding a gun!
It would have been much more interesting if Stans plea at the town assembly was total bullshit because he knew there was something awful buried under that tree that could never see the light of day.
I thought that episode was boring and horrible.

That was the direction I thought they were going in. But I guess that would have been predictable.
I think it could have been funnier if it turned out that Stan's big horrible secret buried under the tree was something almost completely innocuous that only Stan thought was a big deal.
Like maybe he shot and buried a squirrel there when he was a kid with his first bb gun, or maybe a collection of lingerie ads that he collected as a teenager.
The general consensus I've been seeing for this episode is negative, but having just watched it I personally felt like it was the best episode in a while. I personally didn't care for quite a few episodes last season; in contrast, this one knocked it out of the park for me personally.
Highlights
- "THERE IS NO KEY"
- Pleasant pediatrician abruptly becoming a mad scientist with a thick German accent who apparently worships a serpent god.
- The pedophile tripping over a root and blowing his own head off with his gun.
- Everything to do with Roger as one of the Carconi brothers and Stan's intense confusion with the situation.
- "Oh, I thought you were just a cheap asshole."
- Roger giving everyone free tar, with the child gleefully exclaiming "It burns!"
- Billy
- Neat action sequence at the end
If I was watching American Dad start to finish I wouldn't skip this one.
It wouldn't be anywhere near my favorite episodes though.
I felt it was funnier before Roger reveal his one disguise was a disguise for another.
Then again some of my favorite Roger disguises are the ones where he's nothing like Roger. He just gets so caught up being that person that he can actually be kind, weak, or even sober!

Another great episode!
Water polo Ratatouille works, as does the ship b-plot. Boneyard joke was equal parts funny and creepy.

Do I want to know?
Was Roger involved?
Was Roger still involved?
That's weird.

I laughed.
but I didn't know if I was laughing in confusion or amusement.
It aired on Adult Swim though last night.
The new one though... That was certainly something.

But having said that the standard for the show is very high and this episode missed that mark.
