Got in some great games with PA folks last night! Even though we ended the night trying and failing miserably at a DW Transport heist, everything was in great fun.
All runs of Big Bank should be that smooth!
... I fucking love Transport DW - not with pubs mind you. But with a group actually making a serious attempt it can be hella fun.
Too bad I never catch you guys online. Timezones suck!
Hmm, I can't say I enjoy the Car Heist. It feels more like some sort of achievement challenge, or something like that, than a proper level with gameplay.
Thanks to TNTrooper and UrQuanLord88 for trying to help me out. Sorry but after so many failures I just had to call it quits. I don't think I'm going to bother with that one for a while. Maybe tomorrow we can run some normal heists so I can try and at least get to 100.
Not to spoil the new mission, but one piece of advice:
You need to collect all the evidence to beat the mission. You don't have to pick it up as you go, but try to remember where it is. If you go loud absolutely go and find it between waves.

Nah just
6 pieces
Also uhhh this heist is really a letdown. About as short and linear as it gets... no comparison to the hectic of Hoxton Breakout day 1 or the openess of day 2. What a bloody shame.
They should've released this before the Car Shop heist, that one is awesome for the car driving at least.
I enjoyed it, it had a good bit of world-building and attention to detail in it. Fun to stealth, haven't played it loud yet.
True. The "evidence" boards are extremely fun to read (watch out for the "Vlad" one). The tapes could stand to be louder or have subtitles. It's also fun to stealth so there's that.
Funnily enough a turret van can spawn in this heist but not on the road where you'd expect it but up by the neighboring house.
Plot hole though
OldHox got captured between Payday 1 and 2. Supposedly dialogue/descriptions in PD 2 point out that Bain sold the gold from the First World Bank to Hector, but you know that was never mentioned in Payday 1 so it shouldn't have been that important. Really the contact between Bain/The clowns and Hector began in Payday 2. Which means it makes little sense for Hector to "betray" Hoxton before the game begins when they weren't even in contact.

When Hector is invited to Crime.net in between games, the FBI take an interest and have him set up the Watchdogs mission (possibly after the Rats/Firestarter missions).
Essentially he was a CI before the game; maybe 'betray' isn't the perfect word to describe it, but that's the deal.
Noooooo, not Hector! Only contractor worth a shit and the only one of the vanilla ones to give out heists with somewhat decent award. No justice in this cruel world.
Ahaha me and a buddy spent a 20 min game (and a few games trial&erroring before that) managing to essentially perfect a stealth dw HR, we had the cards, all the evidence safely stashed and we're about to grab the boss guy, this being the furthest we've come yet.
My friend creeps up to Mr. FBI while I keep guard, one pager left, things are tense.
And just shoots him.
"I got nervous! Pressed the wrong button!"
Edit: Oh, are the achis fucked up? No loss then.
But I'm kinda suspicious of how you're supposed to take out Hector with a stealth setup? I mean, the dude's like the Commissar, he'll make mincemeat out of you in your suit and ghostbuild.
Edit2: Holy fuckity fucking duck's fuck the plane option on Bomb: Forest sucks ass! ):<
Tried it with friends for the first time right now and it's like a goddamn harder version of the default escape. Jebus, we hardly made it out on goddamn ovk.

He's not in armour if you open the panic room in stealth.

Hoxton was captured before Watchdogs. The timeline is borked.

No, it isn't.
In between games:
Hector already a CI.
Bain invites Hector to Crime.net, presumably based on his reputation, not knowing he's a CI.
Hector gives the FBI intel to capture Hoxton, who is then matched to his DNA at First World Bank.
Hector thinks giving over Hoxton is enough, but the FBI press for more.
PD2:
Hector sets up Watchdogs mission where the FBI know a) the truck and b) the drop-off point beforehand. Both are ambushes, and both fail.
Hector sets up the Rats mission with the FBI watching the house. He also uses the gang to take out the Mendozas who were also on the FBI's payroll, which the FBI is none too happy about.
[it's hard to tell which order this happens in, because the tapes don't have numbers on them]
Finally, the last attempt to capture the gang is Firestarter, which may or may not be a set-up at the airport. Hector doesn't know about the gang hitting the FBI office, but the FBI/Hector do know where the Mendozas keep their cash, hence the heat on Day 3 (not out of the ordinary in game mechanics, but that's what the tapes say canonically).
Then Hox contacts Bain to try and get out of prison (since there's too much evidence to bail him out).
Dentist eventually finds a way to put pressure on the DA to move Hox.
We break him out, get intel on the rat from the (main?) FBI office.
And we kill Hector and take as much evidence as we can.

I'd say Firestarters was before Rats, and both of them were done before the FBI realises that Hector is targeting the Mendozas. Rats has you completely wiping out the Mendozas so burning their cash in Firestarters doesn't make sense if they're all dead. And perhaps those two missions were to give cover so that Bain wouldn't start to suspect that the Watchdogs assignment was a set-up.
My impression is that the Dentist picks up on the PayDay crew's infamy and gets in contact with them to use them for his own purposes, dangling the ability to break Hoxton out as a bargaining chip. Hoxton takes the opportunity and pulls the crew on a detour to hit the FBI headquarters while they're still reeling from the break out.

Just got this game about a week ago, I've been running Cook Off on Very Hard on pubs and found it to be a good way to level up and get cash, everyone goes loud and with ammo bags, doctor bag and a turret it's been pretty easy to finish with at least three bags. Best mission for pubs IMO, has been serving me well

For pure power leveling Hoxton Breakout is probably the best to be honest.
Then again I kinda hate cook out as a map so I'm bias.

Ah true, thanks, I'll have to check that one out, never played it before. I guess Cook Out reminds me of Nazi Zombies with the boarding up of windows and waves of enemies, which I guess is why it's easy to me
Quickest power leveling is actually ECM rushing Shadow Raid Deathwish. My friends and I tried it last night, having very little idea of how to do it quickly (and one of us dying from falling off a ladder), it took us 3 minutes. You can get, even after a 30% heat reduction, 7 or 8 Shadow
Raids in the time it takes to run one Hoxton Breakout.
How exactly does one go about ECM rushing Shadow Raid?
Is it just a matter of dropping an ECM, then running in grabbing all the loot, but not shooting anybody?
On DW? You need a group and keep the jamming up. But yeah, running in and grabbing stuff is the strategy - buy the dumpster drop off point in the yard to speed things up. Just gotta memorize the loot locations.

Spec for max duration ECMs, which includes pager delays.
With a full team, that's 4 minutes of doing whatever the hell you want, followed by 10 seconds to evac before the pagers expire (assuming you want the stealth bonus)

Oh by the way, the silent motor for the saw was fixed. The alert range on hitting something is now 7 meters, so it's not completely silent but helps with the cages in ED day 2 for example.

So I guess Overkill is supporting this game for another two years? Gonna be interesting to see how things go from here. Maybe a gun other than the car4 will finally get some quality love.

Okay so turret vans are definitely a surprise.
There have been a lot of fucking changes since the 360.

Yeah, the CAR/AK guns are nice, but personally I think the MP5 is severely lacking in mods. There needs to be a SMG in the game that's good for multitasking that's not basically a small CAR/AK.
I know the M4 is Barbie for men, but Jesus Christ enough is enough...
Actually the Compact-5 got a major upgrade from the Butcher mod pack, as did a bunch of other non-DLC weapons. It's now even viable in deathwish.

I think they can't be ECMed, but they definitely can be sawed. It's actually one of the two* placed where a silent saw is actually useful.
I wanna say it was two, but I can't for the life of me remember the other one. Big Oil day 2 perhaps?
The cages on SR are the same type as on ED but on SR you will most assuredly never safely saw them, what with the crowded patrolling on the floors above/below.
