Been just fine all evening, from roughly 7 PST till eh, 10? Tower, Russia, the Nightfall, etc. Didn't notice a thing.
Happy that @Houn got to raid and that you guys had fun. Looked like a ton of activity tonight - too much PvE to get a six-man PA Crucible fireteam going for any longer than an hour - but that's what Tuesday/Wednesday always is. Gotta bang out those Nightfalls and Weeklies and hit the Vault!
Even having only my main, and no alts, I'm amassing quite the surplus of ascendant mats. I really hope that the new gear uses the same mats - even if it also includes some new collectible upgrade currency - so that this stuff doesn't go to waste. Or, oh! Here's an idea: a new currency that drops in the new raid/higher-level Strike playlists that can also be purchased with old mats. At a greater conversion rate than the horrendous spinmetal/helium/etc.-to-rep rate.
I got some great loot in the raid tonight!

Team 404 had an amazing run tonight. After 8 weeks of raiding, only one of us had gotten the gear to hit 30: @SiliconStew
Tonight was the night we had been waiting for. We had four people get their final needed piece of gear to hit 30 in tonight's run! Me, l3alerion, Dngs, and @Erevar . @Booker is our lone Guardian still needing some gear, but at least he walked away with a Fatebringer after the run
Atheon decided I didn't have enough of his Epilogue's so he have me a third last night. All mats were energy and I got another Chatterwhite. Not a great haul, but it was fun to be there for Houn's first raid. Now to find a hard mode run...

I meant to mention... We beat the Templar and didn't allow him to teleport so we could open up the super secret chest. The chest had nothing but energy/shards in it. Kind of disappointing.

Wait, what? There is one that is a troll with just spirit bloom, then a second one very far down that's supposed to give you loot but gave us materials instead. Then when you finish dropping you come out near the chest in the Gorgon area with more loot (which actually had some things for us). Is there -another- chest we're missing?

I've never seen the "bonus" chest for not teleporting give actual loot, it has always been shards.
After praising randoms during a VoG raid, I want to bash randoms during a Tiger Strike from last night. Just got frustrated and confused why a player during the Archon Priest fight just stood in place to get blasted... continuously. Never wanted to bother rezzing him if he's going to take a beating to the face.
Imagine what "cheese' could exist if someone tried to copy Velveeta.
I joined a guy on my friend list that I did my first VoG run with because I saw him and another in the Weekly. The other basically sat back and let us wipe our way to the boss area and barely helped. Then we did the Nightfall and his contribution was rushing to the boss, dying and saying "brb." Came back after Archon was dead. He was pissed I got the Heart of the Praxic Fire. I was thrilled he did not.

After doing the weekly twice with @fauxromano and @quipfilter (thanks guys) I all of the sudden get an invite from the left field from a local guy on my friend list asking me if I can help them with Atheon on Hard mode. Once I told them I had a level 30 they got excited and I was too.
I didn't have a lot of experience with the relic but being one of the only 2 level 30 with a few people that never done this either, I had to learn fast. Got a few wipes, a lot of them with bugs related. I think My hardest part with the relic is once you exit the portal, to reorient myself to find the middle platform fast enough so I can pop the shield to allow everyone some DPS in. The rest was pretty good and if I missed up with the minautor, I could always ressurect and continue (praise the SUN!).
Anyway, after multiple try and learning experience, on our "last" attempt, we made it and killed Atheon. When going in I was wishing for either the helmet or the Vision of Confluence but My love/Hate relationship with RNGesus is well known so I didn't get that. Instead, I was awared with:
So I think I'll give RNGesus a pass and not complaint about him for a few hours... but he better give me the helmet and VoC next time ;-)
So, Atheon's epilogue sounds like it will be mostly usefull in VoG (which would be great because my Lord high fixer is great at killing harpy but is crap for oracles). What is the opinion on Vex Mythoclast. Even after the nerf, is it still worth upgrading?

Just secured December 9th and 10th off from work. I knew I was saving those two days for something important.
I've been 30 for a bit, but last night I finally was able to get the helmet which is nice because I can now move armor around and not look like Warlock #798. Heart of the Praxic Fire still seems fairly rare out in the world. Nipple clamp space cowboy.

Putting on the VoG robe meant taking off Voidfang. Also dropping to 27.
Is there a reason we all gather on the center pedestal to DPS on Atheon?
Would the extra few seconds saved by just shielding up right outside the portal matter? It would save me from missing the platform and jumping to my death.
The only thing I can see being a problem would be Servitors taking the team out on the portal platform. Is THAT why the center spot became the go to?

It's a significant DPS boost. Atheon is immobile if you don't lob grenades. You can have a Weapon's of Light bubble behind you. No worries of Supplicant. It also has massive drawbacks, such as splash damage sometimes getting through and a mistimed jump. If you can do hard mode Atheon with 2-3 timestreams, then the odds of encountering bugs and just a brain fart is significantly lowered. Also, I used a non-insignificant amount of the word significant in this post.

Assuming I can break the tractor beam holding me in orbit around Venus, anyone want to raid after I do nightfall tonight? I've got a 29 titan and warlock.
Oh, yesterday or the day before, we were talking about Atheon and Grenades and the moving he does or doesn't do.
I tossed a sunsinger sticky grenade at him. He moved a little when it attached, but didn't run and hide. Might have been coincidence, might have just been that it exploded and he stopped "running" from it.

No, the main reason is the huge dps boost to minimize how many times you go through the portals which then increases your likelihood of one of the 30 game breaking bugs happening.
