I really wonder how they're going to do Black Panther. He's definitely on my list with Ant Man for movies I'm not sure how they're going to work in the MCU. The outfit in the poster definitely doesn't help.

Storm can't show up, right, unless maybe they negotiate some sort of cameo deal with Fox?

I wouldn't mind seeing Gwendoline Christie play Carol Danvers. Katee Sackhoff obviously works, but it would almost be typecasting...

I still like the suggestion of Aisha Tyler. Though I don't know if she could do the action stuff really.

good run down of whats going on with who is in what with infinity war:

    http://badassdigest.com/2014/10/28/prepare-for-avengers-infinity-war-parts-i-and-ii-to-end-phase-three/
Here's what we know: A while ago I reported to you that not all of the Avengers would be in Avengers 3 (ie, Infinity War Part 1) and everything we heard today at Marvel's big Phase Three event backs that up: with Captain America: Civil War it seems likely Cap will no longer be wielding the shield, and Thor: Ragnarok makes me think we may not have a Thor to kick around anymore (at least for a little while). Intriguingly there are two films between the two halves of Infinity War: Captain Marvel and The Inhumans. Kevin Feige confirmed that Infinity War is very much space-based, so Captain Marvel fits right in. The Inhumans? They're often Earthbound, but not always, and Thanos is related to them. It all fits in.

If Infinity Wars is mainly space focused I'd guess Beta Ray Bill will make a showing.

So after all the back and forth we had here, Marvel just put Evans and Downey on stage together to announce Civil War, AND split Avengers 3 into 2 parts.

I'm guessing those negotiations have been concluded.

I assume they were finally concluded after Evans and Downy got exactly the right size and depth of Scrooge-McDuck-pool they wanted.

Carol Odds (my own super duper futurist rundown):

    - Blunt. Been in blockbusters, good actress, has known, rising name, also has a kid who could be used in marketing and selling the movie to those not really into comic movies in that she decided to play Carol so her daughter had a hero to look up to, etc. etc. Plus you'd probably get Krasinski too for a role for half the price (he was in the final running for Captain America). 2:1

-Strahovski. My pick, solid choice, good actress, but a resume as action lady that might make her more versatile for other roles that will just be hand blasts and green screen flying (Angela? She-Hulk? Diamondback? Sersi? Elsa Bloodstone? Black Widow II?), though her Box Office record isn't the best. 3:1

-Sackhoff. Pretty much the same as Strahovski. 3:1

-Theron. Was always the first choice years ago when people brought up Carol, if she really wanted it and didn't play money games she would probably get it, but age might be a factor. 5:1

-Heard. Younger, which might be a factor, although not as good as the ladies above her. 7:1

-Shalene Woodley. She was such a draw she ruined Edge of Tomorrow's receipts, and even younger than Heard. If they wanted to make her a slightly younger hero with powers to AIM (lolz) at the tween girls, she'd be a big boon. 5:1

    -Melissa McCarthy. 1:1

Yuk. Don't like her as an actress. Doesn't remotely look like Carol. I cannot fathom how she is getting so much work as she is just so blah.

Anywho, Blunt or Strahovski are who I'd love to see as Carol. I don't really like Sackhoff, but it wouldn't offend me if she got the role and I can understand why people want her.

I could see it. The only thing I'd worry about is her acting range. As much as I loved her in Fringe, her range was pretty limited.

A big part of her success on Fringe was due in part to her ability to undermine criticisms of her limited range by playing multiple characters with different personalities. I think she could swing it.

Black Panther is already signed, Harry. Chadwick Boseman was announced today as Black Panther, and that he'd have a major role in Captain America: Civil War. I loved him in 42, so its actually made me interested in Black Panther.

    That BP costume looks bad

I'm pretty sure the suit itself is based off of the look of the MIT compression suit

Panther is going to show up some time before his own movie, and they said at the event he's going to be a big part of the MCU.

    My guess?
First time we see him will be when he walks up to Cap and offers to repair his shield broken in AoU in a post-credit scene.

    Yeah. AoU spoiler
That movie was suspected to be setting up BP and it looks like that theory is correct.

So in regards to the Avengers 3 'teaser' they show in the video posted at the end of the last thread.
They went out of their way to show Banner holding Loki's staff, having ALREADY shown the cube. They also showed the Aether and the Power Stone. This is a serious indicator that the "Loki's staff contains the Mind Gem" theory may in fact be right.

It must feel good to be Kevin Feige today.

Probably most days, but especially today.

I don't doubt that Marvel's CEO is pretty happy with himself right now. Given the guy's involvement with the company I'd be surprised if he isn't a major force behind all of this happening.

if I was him I'd be on reddit or here or something right now

just soaking it right into my ego

    "Fuck yeah I'm awesome."

    Or 'Feigo'

Someone be sure to ask Feige if Sam Rockwell is going to return to a movie soon, like Cap 3.

    Because he should.

I'd like to take a moment to just reflect on the sheer audacity that the idea of this shared universe for movies and whatnot must have seemed like when it was first pitched.

To be fair, they didn't see any of the pitch, what with the gigantic dollar signs appearing spontaneously in front of their eyes.

I'll be honest. I really wanted him to snap his fingers at the end of that shot.

Also, the suggestion of Aisha Tyler was for Jennifer Walters, not Carol Danvers. Though I think she could do either, I think she has the comedy chops for the 4th-wall breaking that She-Hulk would need a lot better than most, while there are several actresses who could do a great job as Carol.
