are those gift packs on steam one time use only or can they be redeemed multiple times if you buy more? they're 50 percent off right now.
Similar packs in other games (I've got some for Star Conflict) are one time use because they're counted as DLC for the game rather than micro-transactions. So I'd assume you can't buy them multiple times.

Yeah, I was thinking they might come as keys and those could be redeemed again, but nope, it's like you said. Ah well.
Are you the magic man?

I suppose it's a bit of an edge case where you manage to join in right as the defense vote is going on, but man is it fun where you get a bug that locks you into the inability to do anything but chat and alt+f4
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Mesa is everything I've ever wanted in a frame. My favorite frame aesthetics thus far, too.

Got MR15 just in time to be able to check out the hub. The faction treehouses are cool, though there's nothing to do with them (or anything hub related) at the moment, given their unfinished status. I found out that the Red Veil guys aren't all that bad, they're just a little shy.
It's okay little guy, you can come out. There's no big, mean Arbiter jerks around here. They're all in their own clubhouse, silently judging everyone.
The emotes are kind of neat too. Still no dance emote though. For shame, DE. For shame. I need my decoy dance partners now!
(Pay no attention to the New Loka folks in the background and their miracle of achieving spontaneous flight, Stylish & Polite Loki is the only thing you need to see.)

I had the same issue the first few times I tried to go there. I think the problem was that I had matchmaking set to solo those first few times, because once I switched it to public, I was able to get in with no problem.

So as amusing as putting Limbo's agile animations on everything may be, I gotta say I like Ash's noble pose.
Just needs some deal with it shades.

The instructions were specifically that you have to be set to solo mode. None of the matchmaking modes worked for me though.

That's... odd. Didn't know that you had to be in solo mode. Fuck if I know how to fix it then.
Edit: and now I'm seeing people on the official forums saying the black screen is random soooo.... huh.
Well I can say one thing about the Mutalist incursion survival mission. It is really good for farming T1 keys and T2 Mobile Defense keys.
edit:
If anyone out there is trying to farm the High Noon stance for the gunblade, don't feel compelled to bring a Nekros along. DE made sure that the specific enemy that drops them (Brood Mothers) can't be desecrated.
Probably because november is over. They'll probably become a seasonal thing.

Okay, I just noticed they changed the inventory screen recently. This might actually be the first notable problem I've had with the UI changes, since I've mostly been indifferent 'til now. New screen seems to waste too much space on too little information. Also, there's shenanigans afoot:
See the problem? Despite having a dedicated prime part section (which actually is a nice idea), apparently they can't decide if some prime warframe parts belong in the prime section or misc. section. I dunno if this is a bug or if someone dun goofed, but either way something's borked. I saw this when flipping through my stuff and started worrying that I'd somehow lost certain Rhino prime parts that I was certain I still had. Started having flashbacks to the fuckery of the disappearing-reappearing Boltor prime BP.
Tethra count is:
0 High Voltage ( )
2 Jolt
3 Voltaic Strike
7 Shell Shock (I'm starting to suspect that these mods do not have equal rarity)
I am now also drowning in T1 keys and T2 mobile defense keys (I think T2 mobile defense comprises 90% of the rotation C drop table).
In other news, I am one day away from reaching the 4th rank of the Arbiters of Hexis. The Gilded Truth mod for my Burston Prime is almost within my reach....or it would be if I owned the Bo Prime handle necessary to advance
Getting really sick of logging on to see a mutalist nav coord invasion at like 2%, discovering it's a goddamn defense mission, and getting two completions before the invasion is over.
This system is fucking asinine is what it is.
edit: and this new thing where every new weapon takes not one but two argon crystals can die in a fire. It's bad enough that putting in weapons that require other weapons as components is apparently the new hotness, and now TWO weapons as components so you need ever more empty weapon slots hanging around doing nothing.

Advice please. I'm looking at dropping my very first Forma into a gun, and I'm thinking Soma, because while it's not a death laser, holy crap does it mow down crowds.
I'm thinking V for the first one, but as I assume I'll eventually need more, am I thinking right? Apart from Split Chamber, everything seems to be about the same drain except for the elemental mods, but EVENTUALLY I imagine I'll be able to swap those for different-polarity event/nightmare mods or something, so a - seems like a bad idea to start.
Am I missing something obvious?
(Also, as I chug the rest of the map open, can I assume that I can solo everything initially like I have been? Just need to finish Uranus/Neptune for those segments, then Eris/Ceres/Pluto can happen whenever. Stupid matchmaker not dropping you into in-progress on your first run...)
You're missing the part where Soma Prime probably comes out this month. There's really not a lot of room for elemental mods on Soma, actually. You need crit, crit chance, serration, split chamber, and shred for Soma to really shine. Hammer shot is pretty good for Soma too, if you have it. After that you've only really got two slots left.

But I have a potatoed Soma. So hold off for the Prime before formaing I take it. Well, that makes sense, though by the time I can afford a Soma Prime (without actually paying for it) it'll be a month or so for the price to drop from "dumb".
Yeah, I was figuring 2 elementals and the rest stuffed with Vital Sense, Shred, Split Chamber, Serration, Hammer Shot, and Point Strike.
Yeah, I'd consider waiting just to see what happens with Soma Prime. Either Soma Prime is entirely a sidegrade, or DE demonstrates they don't understand the concept of "power creep." Soma is painful enough to actually level up that I'd consider waiting a bit before putting too much into your Soma, just to see how Soma Prime goes. Who knows, maybe they'll actually nerf Soma and put Soma Prime where Soma is right now! (Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to keep using it anyway even if it's not "optimal" later)
Generally speaking, a weapon will need 4-6 total polarities to be considered "done." This is the point at which you run out of mod slots before you run out of points. Obviously if it starts with one or more polarities you get a head start, doubly so if it comes with a V or two. If you have access to the dual-stat elemental mods, you can get away with 4 on most weapons.
The must-have mods are Serration/Split Chamber and usually one of: Shred, Heavy Caliber. If it's a crit weapon (25%+ base crit chance, which Soma is) you need Point Strike & Vital Sense too. Those are all Vs. If it's a status weapon (20%+ base status chance), then you want dual stat elements, which are also Vs. Bows and charge weapons need Speed Trigger, again, another V.
The - polarity is really useful for single-stat elements only, as these are 11 points and serve to fill out a gun that isn't good on crit or status, and just relies on high base damage. The event slash/puncture mods fill the same niche but should only be used on weapons that have the overwhelming majority of their physical damage in that one type.
For Soma in particular you would want four Vs and two -s to fit Serration, Split Chamber, Point Strike, Vital Sense, and four - elements. Some people use Heavy Cal but I personally can't stand the accuracy loss in my bullet-laser. That's a total of four forma to fit everything.
But if I were you I'd hold off considering Soma Prime is gonna be Just Better.

Good advice honestly. Appreciated. From the Boltor/Prime comparison I would assume that Soma Prime will shoot through actual schools.

So interesting: I've got 2 elementals and Shred/Hammer Shot in my Soma at the moment, is that just going pure crit vs elemental, and kinda a taste thing? Because I admit to being an utter sucker for big numbers.
PS: Thanks a lot, the wiki and general good sense gets you through a lot in this, but no substitute for experience really.
Shred isn't really needed on the Soma, it's got cray cray fire rate as is and the punch-through isn't as helpful as you'd think considering you can just drag the cursor around at head level and mow down whole crowds. Hammer Shot is IMO, pretty underwhelming. Soma isn't very good for status, so relaly the only benefit is the crit damage and that's only half the value of a Vital Sense for the same amount of points. I'd replace it with a third element if I were you.

I am a firm believer in "If I can make it shoot through a wall, it must be made to shoot through walls". Also then I did an infested void defense thingie where I hosed a crowd and basically obscured my entire screen with numbers so I want more of that.
Regarding Hammer Shot vs an element though, has the math been done somewhere? 60% more crit damage on a 300% base crit is like 180%, for a 75% crit rate that's still 135% damage on average unless I'm having another "not a math major" moment. Or does the 90% off a maxed element win because it gets rolled into what can crit?
It's not an extra 60%, because it's additive with Vital Sense, which is already 120%. If I swap an element for Hammer Shot my Soma goes from 6.6x to 8.4x, which is only a 27% increase.
Swapping Fanged Fusillade for an element is an increase of about 15 points per shot at base.

So how the fuck are you supposed to get Mesa once this event ends? Without buying it out right I mean.
The rate seems to be about 1 invasion every 4-6 hours.
Which is terrible.
I still can't believe that de felt that the marelok of all things needed a boost like that.

I will have one tonight if DE decides, in its infinite benevolence, to grant we mere peasants the grace of another mutalist invasion sometime today.
