No Friday Night Game night, but I think I'm still going to keep it as a night in front of the PC (it's the only night I get to do so most weeks). I feel like I should make progress in some vast story or blockbuster title, but in the end I'll probably end up playing some simulator game or pinball. Maybe I'll play something with trains or farms.

    They go hand in hand.

That being said, you're right that Objectivism is probably a better term to use for Bioshock.

Let's just say that it's as accurate to say that the first game deals with libertarianism as the second game deals with communism.

Bundlestars have a deal with PC Gamer for a free copy of Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space in return for a Twitter follow. It's a solid, light, space exploration rogue-like, and certainly worth the $0 entry fee.

They also have the the new, still early access Infinite Space III for 75% off - $2.99 . Looks like a solid deal to me, but has anyone bitten the bullet yet that could provide more info? I'm guessing maybe @Drake?

I never figured out combat in the second game. Basically my only strategy in the first one was to close in and trade fire until your shields got low, then pull out to recharge, repeat until victorious or dead. But in the second game the shield and health readouts for friendly and enemy ships weren't fixed at the side of the screen, and you had to mouseover to see them. I found it impossibly unwieldy, especially with your ally ship in the mix at the same time. Basically had to pause every time anyone took a hit, at which point it was easy to forget which projectiles were going where and how fast. How were you supposed to play it? Is it any different the third time around?

Weird Worlds is aces. It's the perfect "coffee break" kind of game. Buy goods low, sell 'em high and set a high score. Pawn Stars in space, kinda. Only with a much higher risk of being sucked into a black hole.

So I've actually been going through my discovery queue daily, just to see what would come up.

First off, it kinda amuses me that the justification for games is now "because it is positively reviewed." But man there's tons of rogue-likes and survival games out there.

Like, I knew that, but having them laid out time after time is just....yeeesh.
