"So I gave someone $700 to go to PAXAUS and get me 20 pin sets"
"Holy shit... That's a lot money. Who did you give it to?"
".... I dunno. I think his name might be Pedro. I never actually asked"
"....his name is Pedro?...."
Oh an eye is wrong colour? that's cool i had one where they forgot to fill in a small detail but its not really a misprint rather a incomplete pin, Yours look like they did it incorrect colour.
That's what some would call a mis-fill or a mis-paint. They are relatively common if you look at a lot of the same pin all in a row. These pins are hand painted/printed, so mistakes like these will sneak in. The ones that generally create the most interest, are ones that are blatently obviously wrong, such as the title misprint of the wrong PAX screen printed on the pin, or a mis-fill/mis-paint that changes the art/tone of the pin. The only other good example I've seen is the pin @zeale discovered and that I traded for, where the Hotstepper Gabe pin was missing the pupils in his eyes, so he looked "soulless."
I also have a mis-fill NYE 2015 pin, but its just a wrong colored necktie knot, and almost impossible to notice unless you've got something to compare against.

These are hand-painted? I thought they were painted and enameled akin to cars and toy figurines? (Which, okay, I think are still done by hand in many places?)
Hence the yellow PAX Prime 10-year pin. (It's like an incorrectly minted set of coins.)
Well someone will link the video, but in the case of the shields it's just a case of someone grabbing the wrong set at the plant and putting them in the machine.

That video was awesome, I had no idea how much skilled hand work goes into a pin, I just assume everything is manufactured by our future robot overlords these days...
The "clutch", I always wondered what the real name for those things were. In the Army, we always just called them "damn-its".
More like "I LOST ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE BASTARD THINGS AGAIN?!". I have a great variety of spare backs, both rubber and metal, just for those kinds of scenarios.

Well, we used them to attach all our awards and insignia(read: "bling") to our uniforms. The reason the US Army uniform looks good on people is because it's tailored in such a way to look good but prevent most simple moments other than walking. When trying to assemble all the random regalia, one would invariably drop multiple clutches...as such..."damn it".
