Hope it hits open beta sooner rather than later. The PC Titanfall population faded out way too soon thanks to being shackled to the Origin crap pile, Mechwarrior Online is pretty obviously never, ever going to even remotely attempt worthwhile balance and content as long as people keep buying mechs for cash, the Battlefield series has no interest from me at this point, and Battlefront being an EA title means it's just dead on arrival as far as I'm concerned.
Rocket League is good fun and the new mutators and game modes coming up are gonna be great, but it's just not the same as a good action-oriented FPS multiplayer game. And while I've never been much of a Blizzard fan (not because they're a bad company, they just don't typically make stuff I want to play), having them at the helm means that Overwatch could actually see the kind of long-term support that publishers do everything to avoid these days.

It scares me to think that by giving Overwatch a shot I might be dealing with the same crowds that play those mass released war shooters religiously.
No offense to the people who like those games, but to me they are gaming cancer.

Just stick with the PA folks and it should be no big deal. Plenty of PA folks are pretty dang good, but nobody really cares how good you are as long as you aren't actively sabotaging the team or something. I would be very, very surprised if there aren't at least a handful of characters that let newer/less-practiced players make worthwhile contributions and have fun without needing an assload of experience to make them do anything.
Heck, some of the best stuff that happened when playing ARMA III with PAers would happen because people were inexperienced, and that's a very war-sim experience. I wouldn't worry about Overwatch not being plenty fun, even if you don't stick with PA crowds.
I love Tracer. I've been getting stuck into playing Zarya and Tracer most games. Every couple of games I'll do a support. Rarely Lucio even though he's amazing. I just dun' like his gun.

Probably see a chunk of additional beta invites, but as there's no incentive to compete with a paid game at this point, I don't think they're going to time it to any specific release until they've implemented whatever the hell they're going to do to monetize it.
Clearly there needs to be a "Yeah no advice here, that was just bullshit" tip.

You might want to give Dirty Bomb a try, I know it's like, the most generically bad name for a shooter, and it's nexon. Maybe it's just that I'm salty over overwatch flags, but I'm having a bunch of fun with DB.

I learned yesterday that when you use Torbjorn's Molten Core, you build way faster and get infinity scrap.
I made good use of this knowledge.
The streamer I was watching would pretty much build up ult, then as soon as his turret was destroyed would pop his ult and instantly have a level 3 turret again.
I like the idea of Torbjorn, but really haven't seen him used that effectively. There seem to be simply too many counters to a stationary turret with no shielding.
I watched OneAmongstMany pop Molten Core once and turn himself into an assault. It was very cool to watch Torbjorn actually kill stuff himself. His turret was already level 3 and able to look after itself.
I'm traveling for work and added the few friend requests that came in. I haven't gotten to play much the last few days, but I'm planning to jump on tonight (PST) and fart around. At the least, I need to get some more experience on everyone right now.
Question for you: assuming that Blizzard adds "freebies" for Overwatch like they did for WoW, Hearthstone, and (to a lesser extent) HotS; what do you think they will add for Overwatch? Skins? Icons? A gun that shoots Murkies; who then run amok on the map?
Wasn't there something for Overwatch for Blizzcon this year that they ended up taking out? Not to get people's hopes up but last year I think they gave closed beta access to LotV (still in waves I think) but I don't think I ever got an email for that and lost interest in SC2 quite a while back so I dunno.
For future years though, probably anything cosmetic. Murloc gun sounds quite unlikely.
There was a post on reddit about the results from datamining the client. The only thing I remember was special "I was here" tags you could spray on the walls, but others who read it more said gun customization, too.
As for new characters, the PlayOverwatch twitter account has sent out these URLs:D.Va and part of Mei's journal.
I've heard some rumors that Tactical Koala, the youtuber, will be part of a panel at BlizzCon discussing team comps and counters with some of the developers, but details aren't final yet.
Some new-ish guys in this pic, they've been seen on other art. Sword Guy aside, I think the three guys at the bottom look a bit too boring and generic to be actual characters and not some generic "Overwatch grunt" or whatever. We'll see if they show up.
