any top eshop recommendations to a new wii u owner? I should get pushmo probably!
NES Remixes are pretty fun if you played NES a lot growing up.

I did indeed have a nes growing up but the nes remix games i've heard very mixed thoughts, they apparently start super slow and there is some sort of retail bundle of the two coming out?

NES remix is a good way to see that many NES classics have not aged very well.
I found that the NES remixes are good for picking out the fun bits of old, classic NES games while, for the most part, cutting out the rest. It's like Warioware with gaming history.
GX was a great game but it was stupid hard. Not fun hard, just "fuck this bullshit" hard.
This. I respect GX for what it was, and am happy that those fans got that game because wow is that a treat for the very specific people who like that kind of game, but for me playing that game is like trying to hug a cactus. It's not very pleasurable and there isn't really any purpose because the cactus doesn't give a shit about me.
I never felt GX was bullshit. Hard, yes. Sometimes forcing you to be perfect and/or lucky, sure. But not bullshit, not in the way, say, Mario Kart can be bullshit (why do I always get pelted with a Blue Shell in sight of the finish line).
Really, there was only time in GX where I legit called bullshit.
Chapter 7 of the Story Mode. I've managed to take out Black Bull and Blood Falcon - the biggest threats in that race. I'm in first on the final lap, everything's going smoothly and then, on the final stretch, just as I'm about to beat this goddamn chapter, Leon overtakes me and finishes in first. Leon! That racer never amounts to anything anywhere else and he's the one to beat me here?
Bullshit!
But other than that I felt GX has always been harsh-but-fair to me.
The only thing I thought was bullshit about GX was how they kept the new characters locked behind story mode on very hard. Easy and normal were tough but they were doable. Very hard? Nnnnnngggggg.
I actually completed all but three levels. The remaining characters I unlocked on an AX machine. You really shouldn't have to work so hard for new characters.
GX was a great game but it was stupid hard. Not fun hard, just "fuck this bullshit" hard.
Two parts of it's story mode I remember vividly; the one where you're in a straight shot in a tube racing against closing gates, going as fast as fucking possible and rotating to fit through, and the one where Blood Falcon and Blood Falcon's Hilarious Voice Actor put a bomb on Cap's ship and you gotta do a Speed style level, do not slow down or you blow up, do not hit a wall or you blow up. Those 2 levels were so awesome and SO FUCKING HARD HOLY SHIT.
GX had the best worst voice acting/cutscenes/cheesy rock music.

So Blood Falcon is a clone of Captain Falcon made from blood taken when he was in a coma four years ago
but he's also a ghost that seems to live inside Captain Falcon and can appear whenever Black Shadows says "come out!"
Oh brilliant

Via Nintendo PR:
SUPER SMASH BROS. FOR WII U IS THE FASTEST-SELLING WII U GAME EVER IN THE U.S.
If you were going to diagram an equation for a record-breaking software launch, it would probably look something like this:
Popular Franchise (more than 14 million Super Smash Bros. games sold in the U.S. alone)
+
Demand (it has been six years since the last Super Smash Bros. console game, plus the new game benefits from heightened awareness for the franchise coming on the heels of the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game)
+
Critical Acclaim (current Metacritic score of 93, making it the highest-rated original game of this generation, tied with last year’s Super Mario 3D World game)
+
Strong Reaction from Fans (current user score of 9.2 on Metacritic, becoming the eighth Wii U game to have a Metacritic score of 85 or higher AND a user score of 8.5 or higher)
= Super Smash Bros. for Wii U is now the fastest-selling Wii U title ever in the U.S. market (dethroning Mario Kart 8), with more than 490,000 physical and digital units combined sold during the three-day period of Nov. 21 through Nov. 23.
“The Nintendo holiday is off to a great start, but there’s a lot of work left to do and a few more surprises in store for our fans,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With great deals coming on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and great content like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launching next week, Nintendo will offer shoppers the best combination of fun and value this holiday season.”
GX was super hard, so I just never played the single-player. I just played the regular races constantly because they were already amazing, I didn't need stupid bullshit objectives added in to it.
F-Zero GX is the only racing game I have nostalgia about. I didn't play the originals and I didn't put much time into any of the older Mario Karts or other racing games. Got it near release and poured so many hours into that game.
You can see that the publisher is listed as Namco Badai.
I could see them hearing that ZombiU2 was done but would never release due to Ubi's uncertainty, and going "hell guys, send that over here and we'll publish it for you."

Ha ha, the press release I got had the exact same quote attributed to "Pierre-Paul Trepanier, Nintendo of Canada’s new general manager and senior director." Those two dudes must be really in synch, maaaan.
I hope great deals they promise are actually happening in Canada. Nintendo shit never goes on sale here.

Target has the Super Mario 3D deluxe set for $299 with a $25 GC. Stores only.
So, this was pretty cool. A DWTS segment that had this couple dancing to Mario tunes. Decently done. Nintendo also has put up an MP3 of the Mario medley they danced to on their site.

Saw that on Facebook. I was positive Nintendo was involved due to the lack of screw ups in the props/background/music.

While that is fantastic news, I don't see anything addressing the shortage of GameCube adapters. Just saying.
If anyone here is on the fence about that Hori Battle Pad
It's rad
I almost went to pick one up but decided that tomorrow would be more appropriate, because Best Buy is across town from where I was. How rad is it? I need to knoooooow.

It's too bad it sold so poorly. It seems like most people who played it agree that it's the best goddamn racing game ever made.

Original F-Zero is just bizarre. I think it only succeeded in being memorable at all because of the pseudo-3D Mode 7 thing going on.
Seriously though a racing game, with only a choice of 4 vehicles to race as, and it's freakin' single player are you kidding me
but he's also a ghost that seems to live inside Captain Falcon and can appear whenever Black Shadows says "come out!"
