FAQ:Q: What platforms are available?
A: PC, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4.
Q: Do PC users need to use Origin?
A: Yup, sorry.
Q: What's the deal with multiplayer?
A: Inquisition has a four-person multiplayer campaign that is
completely separate from the single-player campaign. It's like a mash-up of a dungeon crawler and the ME3 multiplayer.
Q: How will the game import my world state?
A: The
Dragon Age Keep lets you configure your world state to your liking, and then import it into Inquisition. All you need is an Origin account and an internet connection.
Q: How can I find people to play multiplayer with?
A: Add
your info to the list, and then
check out other players.
Q: Something is broken! How do I fix it?
A: First, check out the
EA help page. Specifically, here is a thread with
a bunch of troubleshooting tips and work arounds. If nothing is working, feel free to ask for help in this thread.
Q: The Origin achievement sound is annoying. How do I fix it?
A: Here is
a work around.
Q: How does healing work?
A: There isn't really a healing specialization in the game. Instead, you have to use a limited number of potions to regain health. Those potions are automatically restored when you rest at a camp or your base. You can equip specific gear that will help you heal, and the Knight-Enchanter specialization does offer a very limited heal spell.
Q: How do I mitigate damage?
A: There are two systems that act as a sponge for enemy damage. Mages can cast a spell called barrier, and Warriors can accumulate guard a number of ways. These effectively prevent your main pool of HP from being depleted.

Until I played for 20 minutes, maxed out what I could do, and it asked me for money to keep playing.
What the hell, I thought this was the part of the Keep that was supposed to be a fun little text story to get us ready for Inquisition?!
That's all it is. Personally, I think it's way better than the other two games they put out before the actual games.
That said, I still stopped playing it after the second day, but still.

Jump on an ogre and stab it while it bleeds to death, probably going to get a fair share of blood on your face.
Not every time of course and I get why people don't like feeling like everybody pops open like a bloody geyser in a tarantino film but its a guilty pleasure of mine.
And I need to finish 2nd round of Borderlands: Moon Jumping! before this comes out, don't think I'll make it...
The time limit doesn't even really matter much. 7 days to prepare for the divine's arrival, which translates into "you need 15 total of these 3 things for the best ending". I've just been dicking around and I already have about 17, with 5 days left. There's literally no reason to put money into it unless you just have to see the end of the story right away, and the story isn't interesting enough for that.
Also, I looked for rules about the brackets and couldn't find any hard and fast rules. I'd appreciate it if anyone has a link.
Anyway, I watched the first 15 minutes of today's stream. Still on the fence about the rest. Is it super spoiler-y?
I burn my actions pretty quickly, but I haven't felt the need to pay to get further. Right now I'm at 1 Secret, 5 Trophies, and 6 Viands.
It is way better than the Facebook game from 2. At least you don't have to spam your friends for more energy, etc...

It... wasn't bad. A bit abrupt. That being said, I appreciate that it's short and sweet for meta-gaming reasons: it'll make getting started on replays a lot easier.
Things I noticed that aren't spoilers:
-Dat engine! Easily the best-looking BW game ever. Texturing, terrain, armor, and 2D art all looked amazing.
-The companion AI looked to be about 828x smarter than it was in DA:O or DA2. Makes me wonder how tactics are going to work and if they'll even be necessary. Cass was tanking up a storm and the companions were detonating combos amongst themselves, all without player intervention.
-The tac cam and better AI are great, but the single biggest improvement to combat that's going to make it feel more tactical is going to be the ability to tell party members to hold position on an individual basis. No more of that super goofy party-wide "Hold Position"/"Move Freely" toggle like DA:O and DA2 had.
-Terrain elevation is a thing that's important.
-Strafing looked really cool, and not just for the PC. Ranged party members could be ordered to move to a new location AND attack a target, so they keep attacking as they move.
Kind of figured you would atleast get an opening cutscene setting up the situation/conclave before they throw new DA players into the deep end.
I don't know. The character is being thrown in, so I think it works pretty well.
I'll also note that VPN unlocking worked fine for me for ME3.
Yeah, the game looks gorgeous. I really want to see what ME4 looks like in Frostbite, because they'll have to up the quality—a lot of things in the ME series are kind of ugly. More importantly, biotics and destructible terrain hng.
I was thinking about this earlier, with the archer ability for bonus damage when you have higher ground. That means their level design was presumably built to be varied enough that higher ground is often attainable, and offers archers another reason to seek vantages. Plus, since they added jumping and freely-traversible terrain, you can't get cornered up there when the angry melee enemy comes around the path leading up the slope, because you can just hop/slide down. Trying to speedrun DA2 to refresh my memory and thus running into these invisible boundaries on the reg, I think this increase in freedom is going to make it difficult to ever go back to the previous titles.
Also, I think attacks-on-the-move are for archers only, not mages. I saw a bit of AngryJoe's impressions of the first few hours of the game, and he had changed mage->archer for that reason.

Yeah, but they started at Hard difficulty and there were no other party members. Soloing health-buffed enemies when you have no skills or weapon upgrades makes for some tedious fighting.
Firing arrows at point-blank range looks dumb.
Uh...welcome to video games, I guess? Also, movies. LotR has Legolas firing tons of arrows at point blank range--its kind of a thing.
The way KotOR 2 had two sets of weapons, and you could configure the characters to switch based on ranged/melee was pretty cool.
I apologize, not trying to be rude (succeeding wonderfully, though), but it's been an issue in the past round here.
Replaying DAO and DA2 has helped but not by much. Probably going to try that VPN thing on the 17th for the first time since it seems to be on the level and legal..ish?
I still need to finish Bayonetta 2, and I picked up that South Park RPG for super cheap the other day. I know none of that is getting played this year if I don't jam it in now.
WHAT VPN THING DO YOU MEAN.
PLEASE SPEAK INTO MY LAPEL AND IGNORE THE WHIRRING NOISES.
(I actually have no idea how Origin deals with that sort of thing so I can't say one way or another)

Redeems on Origin, shout out if you take it.
On the other hand, using it to purchase games cheaper seems to be the thing that pisses them off.
At this point I think I'll VPN to unlock the PC version as early as I can and get my Qunari mage on and then pick up the PS4 version at Gamestop Monday night/Tuesday morning and get my artificer on.
All I know is that between now and then I need to swing by a Sam's Club or Costco and get like 2 cases of Monster or Red Bull.

But then I'd be paying full price twice, buying DLC twice, and I'm sure my MP unlocks won't carry over. I'll probably just pick up the PC version in a year or two when it's super cheap.
