I think I feel generally sorry for Dorian. In addition to having a shit life, I don't think any of the other companions actually like him, except Cole who pretty much likes everyone if only because he understands everyone better than they do themselves.

I can understand some of the other companions mistrust of him, but he proves to be a bro from the outset and he's definitely earned my respect. I love the philosophical chats you can have with him (note: character chat spoilers)
Especially his "religious" views. Here's a highly intelligent and sophisticated man who's not afraid to admit (much like Pascal or Newton) that he believes in something greater than he can see or experience. His version of "Andrastian" belief (i.e. there is a Maker but the Chantry sucks) is almost an exact framing of my relationship with Christianity, so it resonated with me a great deal.

Also, hurry up and finish the game, I'm having to discuss it on Reddit, of all places.

Really though, enjoy the game and take your time. I just got extremely lucky to have a week's worth of vacation and most importantly, an understanding wife, that allowed me to beat it so quickly. I'm just super excited about the game.
@Assuran I haven't finished the game, but I have one question. How much of an impact does a Warden romance with Morrigan (and stabbing/going with her through the eluvian) or Leliana have on the plot of DA:I? Not looking for specifics, maybe just something like 'None', 'Just a passing comment', 'Small impact', or 'Pretty integral.' You can spoiler it and put an @am0n so I know you are replying to me.
I'm in The Fallow Mire and lightning struck the ground right in front of my face. Scared the shit outta me. I'm playing with headphones, so it's even more immersive.
Nice ambiance too.

From Leliana, you get multiple comments. Also in regards to the Warden Commander, she implies...
that if your Warden Commander is alive and romanced her, she knows where the Warden is, what the Warden is doing, and is planning on joining the Warden once the Breach and who is behind it are dealt with.

I love the fact that when I'm shard hunting my Qunari is too big to get up some of the slopes so I have to send people like Sera.
I have been playing Dragon Age 2. This is my third, and last, attempt to get through the game. I've compensated for all the bad design by talking to myself about it when it happens. Now I wish I had just done a Let's Play because I am pretty entertainingly going insane, if we do say so ourselves.
In any event, god-damn I would love a remake of this game that actually gave Kirkwall the character and depth it needed to pull off the story they were trying to tell. Each neighborhood should have character and be full of characters. Change over time as Hawke lives his life there. Lets god-damned obnoxious sidequests.
AARGH! Seriously? Where do I find Lazurite in the hissing wastes? All I can find is Nevarrite (which I now call NEVER RIGHT!). And the enemies are too high level for me to just wander around too much. This is some seriously bad design to unlock specialisations. And the resource quest on on the war table only got me 6 lazurite, need four more.
EDIT: DOUBLE AARGH. Found one deposit. Took me to 9... so fricking frustrating.

I would really like to do DA2 with the engine, tech and time we've had for DAI.
The easiest and fastest place, by far, to get Lazurite is in
The Western Aproach. There's two mines directly west of the starting camp. You can what you need in under 10 minutes. If you don't get all ten in one pass just leave and come back and they will be restocked.

It would be pretty great. I love the idea of taking the standard CRPG formula but having the PC deal with the consequences of quest decisions in more than a perfunctory way, because they don't just leave. Cameos of past characters were nice in Mass Effect, but it would be great to see a community or broader polity change over time in response to the PC's choices.
Another thought (although I'm sure I'm repeating things that have been said up-thread) -- KBAM camera controls really need some work. So far, in my Rift fights, the most challenging thing has been actually finding a vantage point where I can select the part of the Rift that lets me interact with it.
Still, I continue to enjoy the heck out of the game. As long as I don't look up at the screen and see one of my party members is suddenly at 5% health because a bear came wandering along ...

The two DLC expansions (Legacy and Mark of the Assassin) are much better and tie into Inquisition in interesting ways. You can do them at any time, too. If you're getting tired of the base game, I'd recommend jumping into them.

I haven't even started on my advanced class quest. I picked assassin and it wants me to make a murder knife which consists of killing mobs I've never seen and gathering an herb that I have never seen and nothing in the quest tells me where to go.
So I just said fuck it, I'm doing just fine as a plain old archer and if I uncover these components in the course of the game I can respec into assassin stuff later.

So I inadvertently sided with the Templars because I did their mission first and didn't really consider the consequences of my decisions. Oh well, they seem like ok dudes. Solas does not seem thrilled.
Also, in the quest right after you pick a side and its so epic. Game just went from an 8 to a 15 for me.
So, uhh, I need to collect some quillback innards, for uhh...a friend. I already observed them for him once, because he's kinda freaky like that, but apparently every quillback in the Western Approach is now an affront to nature and isn't actually born with intestines.

You need to stop vaporizing them with your megaplasmalaz0rs or smashing them to atoms. Try killing them with your bare hands, should net you a nice HQ pelt too. :P

I got to the third Astrarium on the coast (over by the second camp), checked it, and I just turned around and walked away. Normally I wouldn't stop until I got everything done, but that one just made my eyes glaze over.
I know precisely which one you mean, and it's not as hard as you think. Just remember the algorithm with these puzzles: find the two points that have odd lines connected to them (and there will only be two), start at one of these and end at the other.

I've found four so far - two each for Varric and Solas. Weird.

"No that wasn't me. I am not a wooden duck."
"I mean are you the one who left it there."
"Oh, yes, I left it there...
I couldn't find one with little wheels."

This bearly passes for humor.
One other thing, if you just want to get your rock and get out, go around to the north then west, south has more enemies.
I did, then game crashed and I reversed my choice
