Iron Banner gear only gets you to 31 seems not worth it.
I think that "session" needs to be clarified in the crucible updates. If it means that the match ends in case of outrageous slaughter then that creates perverse incentives in a competitive game mode. If it just means that it doesn't keep everyone together in the next bout of matchmaking then that makes sense, but then why is it phrased differently?
It probably means that a rout won't give anyone anything. Which is good/bad depending on how they define "slaughter."

The update clarified that apparently there is no "attunement" for Crota, you can just hop right in once the update is live and you and your party are 30.

I just took it to mean you'd both get shuttled off to orbit after the end of the match so you wouldn't immediately be matchmade with the same team again.

This has to be the dumbest group I've ever been with...
One guy starts off with 26 gear. He keeps dying but its ok. But then we get to the Templar and the son of a boiled goose goes "Wait, I forgot to put on my raid gear." NOW HE'S LEVEL 30!!! Then suddenly he decides to try and solo parts and goes against the group's plans. And he's still dying, keeps yelling "Revive me!" But we can't reach him as he's dead next to the Templar during the Oracle phase.
Then at the Gorgon maze, everyone has a dozen paths they want to take, two people try to kill a Gorgon and THE LEVEL 26 30 TITAN DECIDES TO PUT A BUBBLE AROUND A GORGON WHILE THE REST OF US ARE WAITING FOR HIM AT THE CHEST!!!
Then at Atheon, I grab the first relic go to the conflux and I'm there solo defending when I noticed it's taking them a long time to grab the second relic.
"Hey, where are you guys at with the Venus Relic?"
"No one is in Venus."
5 Guardians are holding the portal open because no one wants the relic...
I'm almost ashamed to say I left right then and there.

"If one team is grossly under-performing, the session is dissolved in favor of matchmaking"
and
"If three or more players are grossly under-performing, the session is dissolved in favor of matchmaking"
lean more to a midgame "mercy rule", imo. The game needs a mercy rule though, because it's a waste of time and KD trudging through a pubstomp.
In other news, I got a universal remote from the Tiger Playlist! JUST IN TIME TO LEVEL EXOTICS AMIRITE?

I feel like the level 30 requirement for the Crota raid is awfully steep when most of us ran the raid for weeks and never even got close to getting the 4 pieces of armor.
Oh well I guess Dark Below story will give me free level 30able legendary stuff or something. I don't want to continue to be let down by VoG drops just to get into the new content.

Naw, only the raid leader has to be 30. And before you ask if I'm sure-YES!
I mean, I suppose it makes sense that they just make big team battle it's own thing, if there are enough maps to support it. On the other end of the spectrum is stuff like sanctum, anomaly, and the mercury one that ony appear in rumble/skirmish.
Well Bungie confirmed they could hear the hundred people on bullhorns screaming at them for being so stupid. Now to see if they will DO anything to please anyone upset about it.
Wow, pocket infinity is kinda garbage now. Like its stuck at the 50% damage reduction. Only doing 50-75 % my legendary fusions damage and has 10 more attack to boot.

I hate that I got a fifth AoG and second Titan helm off Atheon. I don't need more of those things, Bungie. I really wish I could give it away. Would be nice if item gifting existed. Just limit it to people who have cleared the raid if you don't want twinking.
Fireteam cold nuggets 1st hardmode run is successful! No cheese! Both 29s are also now going to be 30 from drops so we will all be ready for Dark below!
Cleared hard mode atheon with a lfg that needed a 6th - was a little rough but they stuck with it and improved each time - got my raid helmet finally so bring on the new exotics - going to be jumping not once, not twice, not thrice - you guessed it? 4
I feel your pain. I needed the chest armor on my titan and got 6 shards and a speederbike for hardmode Atheon. I've gotten no titan armor and the boots on the warlock in all my runs. I can outfit an army with raid sniper rifles and LMGs though.
Well, hopefully everyone brings only their 30s next week regardless.

EDIT: Thanks to @Erevar I should have a hard mode check point at the oracles if anyone wants to do it this weekend. Fair warning: when using my warlock, the hardest part of the raid for me is jumping around that nubbin' that likes to push you off the ledge. It has become the bane of my warlock's existence (go titan jetpack !).
Video of the difference gear makes in Vault of Glass. Basically these guys are the world first / second VoG clear team. They are doing normal VoG at level 28 maximum. Cannot use legendary weapons. Must use 1 crappy exotic (Such as Monte Carlo).
It's kind of amusing considering how hard it looks to do. Guess I never really noticed how powerful my various characters became...
