You know what perk would be even better than the mark quarries and logging sites on the map? One that would mark all the dragons on the map.
Still haven't beat the game because I keep wanting to finish everything else first. I have the final quest, but nope.
Dragon Locations
One in each of Hinterlands, Storm Coast, Exalted Plains, Crestwood, Emerald Graves, Hissing Wastes, and Western Approach
Three in Emprise du Lion
I appreciate it, but I kinda don't remember where I was when I killed the dragons. I know for sure that I killed the 3 in Emprise du Lion and 1 in the Hinterlands. I killed that sidequest dragon, but I don't remember if that was in the Hissing Wastes or the Western Approach. I just kinda don't remember stuff because I was mostly just stumbling onto those dragons while exploring and doing sidequests. Should have written it down, I guess.

The one with an involved sidequest is Western Approach.
The Storm Coast one needs to be unlocked with a war table mission that opens a cave in the...northwest part of the map, I believe. You then take a boat to Dragon Island where you can fight it.
The Exalted Plains one also needs a war table mission to unlock and is in the eastern part of the map.
Crestwood's is really easy to find if you're exploring at all and is right next to the woman that asked you to kill a Wyvern so probably you got that one.
Emerald Grave's is near the area with a bunch of giants and landmarks
Hissing Wastes is by the tomb that you get the key fragments to unlock.
I liked it. Stuff like that is always gonna be a bit sloppy in a video game.
And it's not a "spontaneous musical number," it's a hymn basically. If they're religious people it's entirely plausible they'd all know it. And of course Leliana gets to show off those bard chops singing harmony.
I left Stroud in the Fade and welcomed the leaderless Wardens into the Inquisition. What do I do next? I use them in a series of war table operations that ends with the last remaining Warden dying in battle. Unless there is a sizable force of Wardens remaining at Weisshaupt, my version of Thedas is fucked for those two possible remaining Blights...
Black lives matter.

Despite me disagreeing with Sera on pretty much everything, she is such a treasure to have in party.
I'm really enjoying having her, Blackwall, and Solas together. The
"you've been hanging around Sera too much" bit Solas says to Blackwall
was just great and plays off nicely considering some of the interactions between Blackwall and Sera. That also turned out to be a really winning combination in
the Fade because you have Blackwall dealing with the Warden stuff, Solas nerding out like crazy due to actually being in the Fade, and Sera shitting her pants for the same reason.
I am a little confused reading some of the complaints about her romance though.
People are surprised she's immature and spastic? What exactly the fuck were people expecting here? If they hooked up with Sera expecting a mature discussion on Orlesian politics over a cup of tea or some other grown-up crap like that then I dunno what to tell them. Maybe they were hoping for some sort of Jack-like "get past the outer shell and she'll just cry on your shoulder all day" thing? I dunno. Glad to see a character that doesn't get all fucking mopey and/or serious behind closed doors though.
Finally a not really a spoiler musing regarding the Red Jenny operations:
Speaking of Sera, does anyone get the sneaking suspicion Cullen thinks the Red Jenny thing is hilarious? His options seem to be consistently clever and yield great results.

I don't think i'm going to try the multiplayer in this at all. The reason ME3's sucked me in for a while was I loved the gameplay and that was more of it, in a format that the single player didn't provide.
Inquisition's gameplay is... less than that.

It is an improvement in some ways, but they didn't go far enough. I'm enjoying dicking around solo much more than my time spent in multi.
I do like that there is constant forward progression in DA multi, though. Probably the biggest improvement over the small maps in ME3.

Multiplayer is actually really fun. While the SP combat kinda blows due to the tactical camera (which is exactly why I only play in Normal so that I don't have to fuck with it), the basic hacky-slashy combat translates over wonderfully to the MP dungeon crawling experience. Coordinating with actual people while you dive in and nuke stuff fixes a lot of problems the SP combat has. The classes are also a lot more specific than they are in SP with their own unique skill trees. Also, in some instances the abilities have gotten changed. Reaver's Rampage, for instance, is on a short cooldown instead of being a Focus skill allowing for maximum skull crushing.
So my first character was a blonde warrior who looked similar to me. I always do that for my first toon. Lucky me that it's easy to get brassy/gold armor and weapons to go with blonde hair. I'm big on keeping colors uniform/complimentary. Now my Dalish Mage is wispy white with light blue tatoo. Unfortunately most cloth is dark blue/grey/red/green. She has a rather kickass coat right now, but it's an awesome crimson that doesn't suite her at all. When I get to a rogue playthrough I am keeping the armor options in mind during character creation.
So far the MP feels kind of like a boring slog if I'm playing with randoms whereas in ME3 if I was playing with randoms the gameplay itself was entertaining enough to justify it.
But playing with friends/PA peoples is a blast because it's sorta like playing through an MMO dungeon you have on farm status. Just enough to keep you a little busy but also allow you to shoot the shit with friends for the majority of it.
Anyone seen any official word on the FPS going down after patch 2? The game runs on dual/tri cores now on its own, but actually seems worse besides that and then people who have quadcores seem to be reporting less FPS/stuttering/brief freezing too.

I love the mage route a lot because it used the plot element of
time travel
in the most effective and efficient way possible.
It explores the outcomes of a true fail state, and in doing so it makes every effort to clarify the stakes that are involved. It's a nice and simple device that really enhances what is, to be quite honest, a fairly cookie-cutter story. What's the big deal about our grand quest? If you fuck up, this'll happen. It's much more compelling than the game over screens for the main story quests with a pithy paragraph about how the big bad fucked up your shit and took over the world.
Just did one of Sera's companion quests. Unsurprisingly got more than a little miffed at her interrupt (though I actually did like the way the conversation played out in all honesty) at the end. Her immaturity I'm perfectly fine with, but then there are occasions where it translates into close-mindedness and she reacts like a short-sighted, big babby simpleton without getting the whole 'big picture' thing. Then in another conversation, claims to do the same sort of work in inspiring the masses. lol.
It's perfectly within reasonable character though, so I don't dislike the way it's written. Her strengths are also her weaknesses, it's interesting to watch it play out.

I have no idea how people manage to get that to happen.
Like, half of the questions you can ask the guy are about entering a partnership with him. Why are you planning on teaming up with the dude who just murdered his informant right in front of you, is implied to have murdered a bunch of his servants, and then tried to kill you? Is it just the video game thing where you ask all the questions?
I just unlocked What Pride Has Wrought, how close am I to the end?
Answer:
second to last mission
I'm very surprised how unbelievably light this game is on story missions. It's loaded to the gills with other stuff, but this has to be the least plot-heavy Bioware game ever.
My husband and I have been discussing what the next Dragon Age should be, and thought it should probably take place in Tevinter. Wouldn't that be awesome? Of course he keeps suggesting Exalted March on Tevinter and I'm like..um, maybe something more like playing The Game/spreading dissension in Tevinter, while recovering lost magical knowledge and thwarting magisters trying to do dumb shit with ancient evils. And of course Dorian could be in your party.
Bioware clearly understands that some portion of its playerbase thinks Tevinter is badass, because they sell (unfortunately ugly) Tevinter Imperium apparel.

Yeah, that guy lasted maybe thirty seconds before I let Sera do her thing. I hit the first convo wheel where it l hints at partnering with him and I promptly checked my surroundings for cops, remembered I'm the fucking Inquisitor and that I AM the cops, and told Sera to go for it. There was zero fucking chance I'd ever let that shifty fuckstick anywhere near my Inquisition and if Sera didn't kill him I would have just for being a slimy shitheel. I really don't know why anyone would let that conversation drag out to the point where Sera just says fuck it and interrupts it.

Probably partly the videogame thing? I mean, as a videogame maximising resources is a thing at the back of my mind at all times.
Not to mention that from what I've been encountering so far, there is a recurring theme in the game of allowing the player to render judgement on baddies in a way that maximises utility while still dispensing justice.

There's a dialogue option to basically take all his shit and make him your bitch. Sera's even cool with it. It just requires you to not ask really dumb questions.
Yeah, I got that too on my first play through - never saw what the fuss was about. Second play through I told Sera to take care of it and she did... slightly too enthusiastically, but given what had gone down I was ok with it.
Sera straight up tells you she's gonna whack this guy and doesn't give a fuck about your questions. This is how she is, she's reacting like a person, not your lackey who's job is to stand there quietly while you do whatever you want.

And that's why I said I didn't actually have a problem with the way it played out. I just dislike aspects of her character as she's fleshed out and there's more to it than "lol butts" and "little people for the win" - her spontaneity, impulsiveness and directness means she misses out on alternate approaches to solutions. The debriefing conversation is basically "he was a big jerkface so I killed him, nothing else to it".
But in any case my actual problem with Sera has less to do with that specific scenario (and in fact, not really to do with the quality of the writing itself).

I was pretty much going to pick it anyway. The actual trigger occurs on the second last dialogue option, which is like whatever alright. My reaction at the time was basically "well, that just happened, which is annoying but I guess it's kinda cool how reactive the conversation was" - compared to the rest of the game, which never really penalises the player in asking all the questions all the time.
I'm up to the mission when you have to warn the Empress about an Assassin. I'm like 40hrs in and I feel like this is my 3rd story line mission. I LOVE this game.
That being said, I don't know how Biooware does it but I LOVE their party levels. Somehow they make sneaking around and dialogue trees super interesting. It's nothing deep or complex, but I'm fascinated by it. I'm exploring every nook of this palace and talking to every stuck up noble to get all the juicy gossipe.
Man......this game was worth the $60 and then some!

THANK you. It's not spontaneous at all- Mother Giselle, the camp's religious leader who has probably been holding services regularly for your staff and troops, initiates it. She is in effect starting a service right then and there, with a hymn that all present would be familiar with.
Sure, the sound mixing is a little weird, but I think some of you guys are just uncomfortable with a display of faith.
God, I love these judgements, I'm trying to play them in a benevolent dictator style. Warning: Various spoilers
Barbarian clan leader: Shipped them to Tevinter (Even Dorian Approved?)
Red Templar Asshole: So, you're gonna use the Nuremberg defense? Try using it on your fellow templars, let's see if they buy "Just following orders"
Alexius: Technically, you didn't do anything horrible...yet, so I'm handing you over to the mages.
Extremely remorseful Warden: I forgive you. You turned yourself of your own volition, and I think you should be set free. Just don't do that again.
Crestwood Mayor: Damn dude, I feel for you, the Blight sucks, but your 10 year old crimes should be tried by Ferelden, not me.
Erimond: Seriously dude, even Cole thinks you're an asshole. Very tempted to use Tranqulization on you, but I'll leave you to the Adamant wardens, seeing as you're the one that fucked them up.
And then my most important judgment:
Dammit Blackwall, you did some really bad shit, but....well, you're incredibly remorseful, and I can understand why you didn't tell me the truth. Hell, you could have kept your mouth shut, and let that guy hang, but you pulled a Jean Valjean. Hell, you even rightfully accused me of corruption to get you back to Skyhold. So, just like Ser Remoresful Warden, I'm setting you free, no strings attached.
And no, you being fantastic in the sack totally has nothing to do with it.
Anyone seen any official word on the FPS going down after patch 2? The game runs on dual/tri cores now on its own, but actually seems worse besides that and then people who have quadcores seem to be reporting less FPS/stuttering/brief freezing too.
I have a quadcore and I'm still getting less performance than I did before the first patch. I feel like the draw distance or the high quality texture distance is way farther maybe?
Regardless, I get minor hitching every 3-4 seconds while running around. Combat is usually pretty OK. I haven't delved into the settings yet to try and figure out which is causing the problem.
