I wish there was an interaction with weapon types and armor temperature.
Like, initial blast of lasers heats up/boils the armor..reducing the effectiveness of future laser shots(diffusion caused by steam/metallic particulates/etc), but making the armor prime for breeching with a ballistic
edit
to elaborate, I don't mean one laser blast heating up an entire arm..just that one spot on the arm. Obviously would require locational damage and a massive overhaul of their current system.
Well, realistically, everything would reduce the effectiveness of lasers.
ive come to the conclusion that this: ENF-4R is the best Enforcer Loadout. you could swap the AC10 for Gauss and a slightly slower engine if you really wanted to.

There's another 65 tonner, I must acquire! (Cauldron Born is totally sweet)
3 for 4 ain't bad, but it wasn't tough to predict really. The Cheetah is just so blah, have to assume they thought the Fire Moth was too fast for the game to handle.
Pass. Nothing of interest there and i already got suckered into the last pack of clan mechs that i dont use.
It's not that I don't want them, I've just already spent so much money on this game and I have more mechs than I even know what to do with. There is literally no point in spending any more money on this game for me. Like, seriously, I have 120-some mechs. At some point it's just, ok, I'm good.
This last pack is the only one I didn't buy into at the highest level; I'll skip this next one too. If I get a good job post navy I may change my tune but for now it's too far down the list.

Both the Executioner and the Shadowcat are a bit on the light side of things as far as weaponry goes (although, the Executioner variant that has three large pulses and four ER mediums could make for some lovely wubs).
Honestly, I think I'm most happy with the Clan mechs that I already have (since I'm most likely to be found in either a Kit Fox, Stormcrow, Mad Dog, Hellbringer, or Dire Wolf.

Q15: Dayuhan: Are there any plans to incorporate the original maps to CW?
A15: Might be incorprated in the new CW modes aka Scouting 4v4 game mode. Still working on how to incorporate that into CW so that it has a proper impact and mission within CW. No ETA, but being worked one.. hoping in the next couple months. Tough balancing act.. dont want to affect current queues.
I think varied match size would be pretty neat for CW actually. Scouting, small forces, and main forces. Of course, they have a better idea of how the population looks and whether that would actually be feasible, though.
i wish there was asymmetrical warfare, like..defenders drop in their heavies and assaults, but with no reinforcement drops, while attackers can only use lights and mediums. and have one or two reinforcement waves.
Or just a lance of assaults against a company of light scouts or whatever.
So does anybody know the actual facts about what's going on with Mining Collective? Some people say it got brought back Tuesday and they've dropped on it lots of times. Some people say it's back but on reduced rotation or something. Some people say it isn't back at all until March. Only thing I know is I haven't seen it once in probably 70-100 matches since this week's patch.

Starting March 3rd they will be able to have different tonnages in IS vs. Clan matches. IS will get more tonnage.. small to start 160 to 250 for IS
Wooooo!
I don't understand why they let IS have more tonnage, why not just limit clans to 10 (two stars) vs an IS Company (3 lances)
I think they've intimated in the past that for whatever reason their matchmaker would more or less shit all over itself if it had to make games between numerically asymmetrical teams. My impression is that the matchmaking system in general is held together with patchwork repairs and prayer, the finer points of its functioning understood only dimly if at all... basically it's a WH40k Golden Throne situation.
The next 2 months look to be awesome. It really is a true testiment to how a publisher lording over you can bring you down.
On the other hand, with PGI freewheeling on the tightrope without a publisher net to catch them (not that IGP ever seemed like a good fallback), they have to hit it out of the park essentially every time now.
I'm excited. That Clan pack is interesting enough to me, I may pick it up whole-cloth for my Clan account. The Shadowcat and Cauldron-Born are the big draws, the Artic Cheetah is cute and fast (even if its weapons are blah), and I won't mind having an Executioner in my stables somewhere.
VOIP broke for me too for some reason. Not a good precursor to the event this weekend: I went 0 for 3 tonight. Which is to say that I had 2 kills in all of my matches but no wins.
Anyone use a joystick to play? Any particular advantage to it? What I would love is if my torso didn't twist when I moved my legs.

I was thinking about this and about how TTK is a little low still, and how the glow that armor gets is pretty cool and should maybe matter.
What if all weapons did half damage the first time they hit an (armored) component, scaling to full damage really quickly (like on shot two of anything) and then the DR slowly returned as the armor cooled? Might raise TTK while also rewarding consistent, steady aim.

Mechs in the new Clan pack:
Early adapter thing is you get a 4th variant free for each tier. Pricing gonna be the same as Clan wave 2.

ENF-4R 1xac10 5x SPL
No thanks.
If youre close enough to the enemy that those SPL can hit them, youre doing it wrong.

So march for the start of clan quirks
@Gaslight - pretty darn close man...

If you can't reach out and claim a trophy of the enemy pilots hair then you are not a true MechWarrior.
When i shoot out his cockpit from 300m out, i dont have to.

Shit yes

Not enough awesomes for all of these... 4v4, mixed tonnage, SMURFY, new mechs.
Well done PGI.

ugh, it better be fixed before I get home tomorrow
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat

I'm trying to figure out how to build the enforcer variants, and this is what I've come up with:
ENF-5D
ENF-4R
ENF-5P
Lemme know what you think.
Just say no to IS small pulse lasers. (Unless maybe you're a Firestarter).
Your 4R looks pretty much the same as a build people have been reporting success with.
You, um, don't have any autocannon ammo on your 5P.
Last time I used threats and name-calling instead of ammo, it got me shot in the face.
Ive had luck with the 5D running XL250, LB10X (4t), 2LL, 1JJ, endo, ferro.
4R XL255, AC10 (4t), 5 ML, 3 JJ, 2 DHS, Endo
The P in the 5P atands for Penis. Its pretty balls.
