Starting March 3rd they will be able to have different tonnages in IS vs. Clan matches. IS will get more tonnage.. small to start 160 to 250 for IS
Wooooo!
I don't understand why they let IS have more tonnage, why not just limit clans to 10 (two stars) vs an IS Company (3 lances)
I think they've intimated in the past that for whatever reason their matchmaker would more or less shit all over itself if it had to make games between numerically asymmetrical teams. My impression is that the matchmaking system in general is held together with patchwork repairs and prayer, the finer points of its functioning understood only dimly if at all... basically it's a WH40k Golden Throne situation.
So I just want to bump my own post on the matchmaker in light of the fact I am currently getting "Failed to find a match" every time I try to get in a game.
Ugh i hate the community in these town halls and how pgi seems to think that they have good ideas. Limiting CW drop decks to 1 of each class is a garbage idea Russ. The turrets that you added to assault maps ruined an entire game mode and smaller maps which you still haven't figured out.

I love mechanics that obsolete lighter mechs in a given weight class. Why drop an Awesome when you can bring 20 extra tons FOR FREE! Why drop a Mad Dog when you can bring the BEST MECH EVER!
The current drop deck system is the best thing outside of a BV system. Replacing it would be a terrible idea.

If it locks your mech, rejoin. Get free deathstar achievement.

It never gets that far.
I've never understood why people game out the easiest and most artificial ways of getting achievements. Doesn't it take the satisfaction out of "achieving" something?
Okay I'm starting to get fed up with UACs and might drop my enforcer down to vanilla AC5s, they might not shoot as often but at least the motherfuckers wont fucking goddamn jam when I'm one shot away from coring ou an enemy and leave me a goddamn standing fucking target to be picked at until I die

You'll be happier if you just forget the challenges even exist and try to play as well as possible. Been in three matches since the servers went back up and I'm already seeing so much rage and whining from people trying to chase the challenge requirements, complaining about people "stealing" "their" kills, etc. Setting up these challenges the way PGI has basically just encourages people to play badly and act like douchebags.
@Elvenshae I see you reacting to posts but not in MW or vent. You should rectify that. Not sayin, just sayin.
Work.
Some of us, like Elvenshae and I, exist multi-dimensionally in many places, states, and forms. Unfortunately, our Overlords have the corporeal, game-playing parts of our existences on lockdown most days.
I'm curious about that page. So if you buy before the end of the month, you get a fourth mech variant...or is that "Early adopter" bonus mech already rolled into the mechs list? If it's a fourth variant, do we get a fourth mechbay that's not listed? I mean, I could assume we do...but assumptions and MWO haven't really gone that well in the past.
EDIT: Nvm...just had to scroll down past the grid of buy-in options.

Well, looks like I'll still probably be whaling it up. I just can't help myself. I have over 7,000 hours of banked premium time that for some strange reason I just never seem to use. That's nearly a year damnit. What the hell self? I have a ton of c-bills that I never really spend. Damn, I'm a virtual hoarder aren't I? Well shit. At least I'm still having fun, except when I'm trying to get the first win of the day in the Summoner B.
Still wish we could mix IS and Clan mechs in CW. That's why I pretty much don't do it. I mean, I get why they don't want to from a lore standpoint, but can anyone argue why not to do it from a fun standpoint now that there are quirks for IS mechs?
Apologies again to the folks that I did run that with one night and didn't really have a dropdeck put together so I just sort of threw something together quickly. Downside to switching engines all the time from prior to CW.

You and me, Bolt. I'm eyeing that Gladiator package, doing the napkin math on amortizing the cost, and figuring out my Clan-account drop deck with it.
The bonus +4 mechs for buying in before the 28th is so killer. That is literally the sneakiest bait, that this whale is weak to. I have to think long and hard about this one, but right now I'm leaning towards Take My Money.
Yeah, I'm sure I'll bite. Although it's probably between this and a really nice bottle of scotch sometime next month. I guess I can just keep drinking beer.
Ok, so I completely suck at the whole Timberwolf thing. What makes these guys so special? I end up either blocking teammates (j/k) or getting smeared by some light.

They're a near - optimal blend of firepower, speed, and durability. That's why.

you get one faction package thingy per level of package, right? What's included in those, the colors, the camos and the warhorn/cockpit items?
Yes. And yes, yes, yes.
Generally speaking, I've found I've been getting far better results in either my Mad Dogs or Hellbringers (mostly the Hellbringers, though). For whatever reason, the Timber Wolf just hasn't clicked with me and is right up there with the Adder in terms of performance.

Don't listen to this man, SPLs are great weapons on the 4R, and you wont cook yourself like a Christmas ham shooting them.
Why get rid of the ultras on the 5P? Do you not serve the gods of Dakka?
Don't worry, PGI is on the case!
down for maintenance

Chubby Checker approves.
I literally took out an entire enemy lance by myself (an assault, two heavies and a medium) and the rest of the team couldn't do shit.

It's really an unfortunate kind of existence.
I think its injected on the hour or maybe daily
As soon as you said that it appeared in my mech bay.

I'm a little worried about the Hankyu, its silhouette is a little chunky.
Mmmm, ECM-capable Hankyu and Shadow Cat. Fancy.
[edit] HOOO LEEE SHITE. The EXE-D has ten energy hardpoints. Woof.

executioner can mount a truly silly number of energy weapons, but you probably won't have the heat to use that many

Was considering a pack until they finally gave IS more tonnage on CW. And I don't feel like having two accounts.
