Curse the person who decided to go back to the Yakuza 3 trophy style and require you to complete EVERYTHING. At least the requirements aren't as brutal, I guess, but there's so much more content that it balances that out.
Great game though. It gets a little confusing at times because of the way the game is structured but once it all comes together, it's pretty awesome. Up there with Yakuza 2 as the best in the series IMO.
Question about Yakuza 5: Are there any prizes in the new UFO Catcher (the shaft one) that you can only get in that one? Because the one time I had to play it for a Dragon Statue, I'd already gotten one from a Claw catcher. And I may very well nope the fuck out if I have to play that damn machine for an extended period of time.

There's only one that you have to get from a shaft UFO Catcher, the Hatsune Miku figure, even the dragon will appears in a normal UFO Catcher in one of the arcades.
I finally started playing Yakuza 5 in earnest over the weekend. I got through Kiryu's section, including all the Komaki fights, the taxi missions, and the races.
The story is already hilariously convoluted and twisty, and I kind of love it and hate it at the same time? A lot of times the story takes 3 right turns when all it needed to do was take a left, but then the story is so thoroughly dedicated to this brand of drama that it's hard to feel anything but love for it in the end.
Just got to the first save point in Saejima's story. Looking forward to more!
Prepare to lose a lot of time if you choose to keep up with Saejima's side stuff like you did with Kiryu's. His side-story is awesome but it is a while before you can get into the meat of it.
In other good news, the latest version PCSX2 runs my old copies perfectly. No more weird glitches. I bought both Yakuza games localized and used for about $20 bucks at Gamestop. After that, I stopped seeing them even used entirely.

I was put off by how clunky and slow the presentation and UI is in 4 and 5. I'm hoping it's improved in 6, and that we get 6. If it's improved in Zero, that's great, I'll play that. But I doubt it, since Zero uses an improved version of 5's tech.
