Ways to avoid advancing the story (pre-In Your Heart): go horse racing in the Hinterlands!

Certainly felt a tinge of FF7 while doing that.

    they go significantly faster

even if they don't feel much like it

it's really just an illusion of the animations they use

Your Origin also goes a long way toward making the Hero of Ferelden completely boring, or only mostly boring.

My personal favorite being Human Noble, since you get your beef with Arl Howe and you can either become the Queen or Queen-Consort.

The sad thing about the human noble story is that, if you don't play that story

that whole conspiracy plot never gets exposed.

The Cousland family just quietly dies out, as traitors to the kingdom.

Nope, according to DAI, Fergus Cousland (Your brother in the Noble Origin) is now the Teryn. You get a mission to attend a memorial service for the late Divine.

I remember my reaction "Oh yeah, it's my lovable big bro, probably still gets reminded that his little sis is Queen.... Wait, I imported my dwarf Casteless Origin"

    ...

    ...

Go ahead and make clothes with your tier 2 cloth. The tier 3 stuff will hit you like a tidal wave once you go to some places, like Emprise du Lion

before I start up endgame, how on earth do I trigger that one duel quest for the Josephine romance thing.

I've heard about it, but seen no sign of it.

Once you've gone far enough along her romance path she should stop you on the way through her office and give you the next part
If you've exhausted all your options with her I don't know that to tell you

    Did you get the
assassination contract on her removed? Get her family crest back?

    Also yes, I believe so.

I know I dealt with the contract. I THINK I got the crest back? That sounds very familiar, and I'm pretty sure that was handled already.

Quite a lot of the game is entirely optional.

Soon as you're high level enough, just go for it if you wanna.

Choose a couple of the optional areas, clear those out + story missions

On your next playthrough, clear out the areas you didn't do last time

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

Hmm, I took care of the Family Crest, but now there's nothing else to do and no new dialogue options with Josie.

Do I need to, like, do some missions or something to unlock the next step?

I meant to progress through the campaign today, but I unlocked the Reaver in multi-player last night and it consumed my whole day. That class is so much fun out kind of makes me wish I had rolled a warrior in the campaign. Well... At least I know what I'm doing next time around.

This game has an overleveling problem if you want to clear all the zones in a single playthrough. I've semi-solved it by just avoiding every single Rift not absolutely required to be closed for story or area access. This means the Inquisitor's slackin' on what may be her most important job after defeating not-Satan, but I'd rather be challenged than ridiculously overleveled. Also, my god Emerald Graves is perhaps the most beautiful zone IMO, although I haven't visited Emprise du Lion quite yet.

The American Female Herald is actually quite good

It's a very sardonic version of the character, and she's not what you'd call excitable, but her line deliveries are beyond great where it counts and she is the very best at delivering the most important line in the game
    "Well... shit."

The two major factors in rerolling as soon as I did were

1: Archery fucking sucks in DA:I

2: The American Lady Inquisitor's voice actress is extremely dull.

    Like, it starts off fine.

But when it comes to the "Tell me more" parts of dialogue, (Which is like half of it) it's like she's not really into it at ALL.

I need to get some multi in with actual people

Just hopped into a pub game on threatening with my Keeper trying to finish my first promotion with her, and it was all bad from start to finish

Templar why are you hanging back behind my Keeper while the Assassin jumps into the middle of half a dozen enemies

I'm really enjoying playing multi templar

Can keep up an almost continual +50% damage boost.

It makes your damage output competent, and everyone else's outrageous

Can't pull aggro that well, but since everything dies faster it doesn't matter too much

A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.
