you can play wow and being a functioning member of society
you people i swear to god
I am imagining this in the context of an alcoholic at their intervention and laughing way too hard
but yeah it's no worse than anything else that allows one to sink stupid amounts of time into it. I just personally found WoW kinda bland after playing as much Warhammer Online as I did.
But hell I'd still be playing FFXIV 15-20 hours a week if I had people to consistently play with
Kinda glad I don't though. Especially with the new PC. Lots of other things to play and experience in my Steam backlog.
Although "lots of other things to play and experience" translates to "wander around picking plants in DA:I" at the moment.
Pretty much this (even tho I joke about WoW). I just decided that over 400 days of /played made no sense (this is five+ years ago as well) when I could be spending that time doing other things.
It was a cost/benefit analysis. Plus WoW had gotten pretty boring (to me) when I left.
All the loot and weapons you collected, all the armor sets you completed are probably worthless now. Outclassed in every way by the common gray gear the expansions bring.
So?
So ... you are chasing the horizon. Functioning members of society don't chase the horizon.
what do you think an office job is?

Least you get paid.
Then you can chase the bottom of a bottle!
life's a game that you're bound to lose / like using a hammer to pound in screws
fuck up once and you break your thumb / if you're happy at all then you're god damn dumb
that's right we're on a fucked up cruise / God is dead but at least we have booze
bad things happen, no one knows why / the sun burns out and everyone dies
i think over the garden wall misses me in the same way steven universe does.
i can't look at problems with a childish eye anymore.
i'm all like BE AN ADULT. EMBRACE THE MISERY. THIS IS ALL THERE IS.
and they are all yay fun.
It's actually p dark...liek...spoilars
They're dying. The Unknown is purgatory or limbo. basically they are dying and are making the journey back to life. All of the characters they meet are actually dead (Quincy Endicott, the rich tea guy, has a gravestone in the real world).
Listening to podcasts and baking holiday cookies
It feels weirdly anachronistic
Like connecting with my grandmother's generation
Except my grandmother was the kind of 50s housewife who never made any dessert more challenging than gelatin
Hrm
What is this delightful cartoon people are posting?! I really like the art and animation style, it seems so quaint somehow, compared to a lot of what you see mostly these days.
Over the garden wall! It is so good. And it's short, a miniseries of 10 eps, 10 min each. So fkin gud
10 minutes? That doesn't make sense for tv. Is this. . . Internet video? *shudders*
10/11 minute eps are a standard for kids (or "kids") shows. Stick two into a half-hour slot.

Also I started up the campaign so I've been mindlessly collecting herbs and metals for like the last week or so
what do you think an office job is?
This is a fucking horn!
I've never been so proud of my people

What I am seeing of OtGW seems to involve a dark bitter center to all the candy fluff.
I am thinking I am going to watch it.
Edit: also it looks really well put together.
glad I figured out a method to blaze through 81-90

You just need some helpful advice to pull you out of your slump. Musical advice.

Also my internet is out.
A level 91 warlock, 90 monk, 90 hunter, 91 shaman, 86 rogue, 91 druid

I have a lvl 60 shaman. Beating Onyxia as part of a coordinated 40 man raid was magical.
And now people can solo Onyxia.
My grandmother had a doctorate in nutrition.
I guarantee I'm a better cook.
It's all in the game.
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
All in the game yo

I'm pretty sure she can be killed in like 20 seconds
and that's level 80 onyxia
what
you have got the weirdest rose tinted glasses
Ya got Ghosted.
Or the other bit? That was a draft.
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
*bites lip*
Even though I haven't played in years, I still remember the single piece of loot I got from that raid.

That ring except it was just +10 to all stats.
there's a difference.
You kids today don't know how good you've got it. Why, 10 wipes of 40 players in Blackwing Lair was doing exceptionally well.
