I tried to stay away during this particular Steam sale. In a way, I was pretty successful! I only bought two games for myself. Despite my lack of visibility in the PA Steam thread due to my resubscription to World of Warcraft back in October, some of you still managed to hunt me down and send me a gift. You people make it really hard to stay away!
Anyway, here's the damage done:
Bought for myself (they were really cheap):
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Halo: Spartan Assault
Sadly, I did not send any gifts out. I'm still between jobs. Hopefully that will change this year and I can retaliate on other unsuspecting targets in the near future.
I'd have gotten (I think) my first of 2015 last night if my wife and I hadn't run into a Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris bug that kept us from opening up the last tomb. Hopefully the FAQ I found worked and we can finish it up tonight.
It's been a little bit since the end of the charity drive. We decided that we are going to be doing this stream in the afternoon on Saturday the 10th. I'll post again about it the day before with the final details.
Oh so people were saying they wanted Receatter to go on sale. Apparently its a weekend deal with 5 for that game or 10 for a three pack of bundle of all the makers games.

Just two days into 2015 and already classassinated. Thank you very much @TeeMan for Nuclear Throne!
I am sorry I did not notice your gift sooner. My PC decided to begin this new year showing continuous BSODs and I have spent these first two days performing memory/driver tests and checking the Microsoft support forums. Fortunately it seems that the blue screens were not hardware related but they were caused by a known issue of the Panda AV URL monitoring service. Turning this feature off should solve the problem but it's unlikely that you will see me recommending this antivirus again in the thread.
Whelp. It looks like the mic part of my headphones just shit the bed. Means I probably wont be able to continue the stream for Duck Dynasty this weekend like I was hoping. Gotta order a new one, so I'll tell you guys when im planning on doing it.
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.

Not hearing your dulcet tones on TeamSpeak certainly makes FNG less appealing, @CorriganX. :rotate:

Actually doesnt seem to be the headset, seems to be something else. Also scans found some problems on my pc, so this is a reminder to everyone to run Malware scanning stuff asap to get yourself checked out. Trying to resolve this, maybe I can fix it before FNG/Streaming Duck Dynasty

Man, I don't even wanna know how many games I've finished vs. bought/gifted. Apart from just having so many of the damn things, it seems like every other title last year was Xbox hueg.
Anyhoo, here's my own recap from the sale:
Bought:
Shadowgate
RPGMaker DLC
Thief
Consortium
Received:
Damned - non-PA pal Xero
eXperience 112 - @Krummith
Cave Story+ - @Jeix
Deep Dungeons of Doom - @Berylline
Nether - @Firebird
Battle Worlds: Kronos - non-PA pal oOeyes
FFXIII - non-PA pal SlayerGhaleon
Endless Legend - @Corehealer
Gifted:
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
Valkyria Chronicles
Metro 2033 Redux
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Dragon Age: Origins UE

Carpe Fulgur Bundle
The sale itself wasn't the most exciting stuff, but still quite a few good deals - Consortium for seven bucks looks like a goddamn steal. Thanks everybody for the class and generosity! Hope y'all enjoyed the sale and have your own piles of goodies to play with
Holy crap Hexcells is awesome. It's like Minesweeper and Picross made sweet sweet love by a roaring fire and this is the offspring of their night of passion.
You all couldn't even finish one thread this sale.
Is...is the Steam thread losing its mojo?
Well, there might have been less 10+ posts per sale update that the deals are terrible/not the actual ones. Plus less flash sales in general to cause the former.
I don't really mind a slower paced steam thread. Easier to follow. Though I somehow feel we used to talk more about games/specific deals and ask for recommendations more in past sales. But who wants to ask people for advice in here. You guys are monsters.
Even chat was kinda relaxed this sale. I remember some sales where it got kinda crazy.
It might also just be that we have so many games already that we don't really need new ones.

So what you're saying is we need new blood to aim at while they ask more "is this a good game" type questions?

To be honest. I don't really like that you can't ask such questions without risking possible gifting.
I'm looking for someone to complete a handful of Borderlands (1) multiplayer achievements with. I need "And They'll Tell Two Friends", the viral achievement, and also win a duel, win a duel without damage, win an arena match, and revive a groupmate from death. Should only take a few minutes, and I'd really appreciate it! PM me or msg me on Steam if you can help. Thanks!

At this point I just ask. If someone feels the gifting itch, then fine, otherwise I usually get a good answer from the thread.
I've learned to stop worrying and love the bomb gift.

I casually skim the Steam Thread, but really, most days it feels like this is just a thread for classy gift wars, not conversation. Which is cool, but I wouldn't want to intrude upon that with my pedestrian conversation topics.

@spoit didn't like that I couldn't redeem keys because I was locked out from testing his keys that I already owned so he gifted me Pixel Hunter Thanks Spoity
Thank you @slappybag for continuing your class and gifting me Call of Juarez AND Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon! Looking forward to both as I've missed them now for several sales.

No, please, converse! Otherwise it is just thanks for gifts. Which is cool and encouraging and fun, but not really that deep or interesting.

We did lose a good chunks of days over the Christmas period to the glorious Holiday Hangout
