I choose to believe when Peach goes "ohhh, did I win?" in Smash Bros she is being sassy as fuck
It's better for her character if it is, but to me it always sounded like a genuine dumb bimbo line. "HAHA I DON'T UNDERSTAND THIS GAME I'M JUST A GIRL." Maybe it's just because of the pose she took in Melee as she said it. Like she's asking her dad or something.

Always hated it.
Brawl and SSB4's voice clips and poses seem way sassier than Melee's.
Yeah probably. I know it annoys me way less in those. It's just that my mind always snaps to the Melee one which is the one I hate.
what if we brought back passwords but now they're scannable qr codes
Weren't passwords typically a representation of the actual machine code of your "save data"? Considering the save files of some modern games are significantly bigger than the entire ROM of the games that used password-saves, I don't think I'd wanna see a modern password.
Yeah there aren't a hundred ways to make a password. You either hard-code passwords in (which means there are a finite number of possible save states in your game, which is unfeasible if your game has a modicum of complexity beyond "I'm up to this level"), or you hash your save file and encode it.
Most password systems hide a surprisingly high password complexity though. I mean just think of Metroid. Passwords were 24 characters long out of a pool of 64 characters. So the total amount of possible Metroid passwords is 64^24 (though only a fraction of those hash out to a valid password, of course). And also that still only means a password holds 18 bytes of data (each password character being 6 bits of data).

the password used to transfer your save from Golden Sun to Golden Sun 2 was, like, 210 characters
I'll just agree with you on the whole "don't wanna see a modern password" bit

I'm pretty sure I still have the printout I made with pictures of all 6 screens on it.
so young link is armed with a tiny two handed sword and the fierce deity mask, which is used whenever you use most abilities.
Say what you will, but this game understands fan service.
Are all of his mannerisms as queasily saccharine and cutesy as they were in the trailer?
so far he seems to be as i remember him from the n64 but cleaned up. also interesting to note, his only weapon is dark element.
Young Link is Evil Link.
DUN DUN DUN
I was just wondering because he had this really weird, cutesy vibe to him in the trailer, where he was portrayed... it was fucking weird. I almost want to use "succulent" because it skeeves me out as much as the way he was presented does?

Young Link has seen some shit
He's the archetypal bad-ass kid
I can't imagine you actually mean "succulent" there.

Look at those taunts
That lady's got a rockin' 'tude
First impressions are hard to shake.
I already got the Smash thread and the JRPG thread, feel kinda weird if I took the nintendo thread as well.
And the TF2 thread, but that things like some kinda weird pocket dimension.
I have been sitting with a tab open of the next thread all finished for like an hour

Cool beans.
Wait, what.
that's enough for... a pokemon save

Not anymore it isn't

bullshit there's no way a pokemon save is only 406 bytes
e: fucking draft system
hot
How many pc boxes do you have in red/blue?
Because you need to save every pokemon the user's caught, as well as each of those pokemkn's Ivs and EVs
I'd be pretty darn impressed of they put all that into 406 bytes

you're right a pokemon red and blue save is 32kb
but you can store like... 12 individual boxed pokemon in a qr code

what would that come out as
Wait I got it.
"For sale: baby shoes, never worn"
32 bytes.
Pfft, try 3 11x8 boobs.

NSFW for fuck's sake.
It's saved as a 16-color bitmap. Doesn't matter what the original source was.

you absolutely have to mean a different word
now quantify information in the brain in terms of digital information size
The human brain is estimated to hold about 2.5 petabytes of data
that's not small at all.
