my opinion of dan is probably more complex than he is.

I sorta think Dan's character might be close to overwhelming all of Giant Bomb's content. I love the guy, but he is kinda on all the time.

Flop House repeat offender Idris Elba romances Taraji P. Henson in the Valentine’s Day favorite No Good Deed. Wait, did we say “romances?” We meant “terrorizes.” Meanwhile Elliott tells us of James Bond films of the future, Dan tries to play a game of Radio Zork, and Stuart introduces the new Sweet Amazing Candy Penis.

I enjoyed Dan in Metal Gear Scanlon, because I actually think his weird, fairly childish characters meshes well with Drew's stoicism and thoughtfulness. But that's the only GB thing I've watched in a really long time.

I think my feelings of Dan can be summed up by the latest UPF

Where he picked a game because it allows him to slow mo shoot people in the crotch

And proceded to only do that for like 10 minutes

Isn't that hells of irresponsible on their part

There are tandem jumps, jumps where you are with the instructor, rather than being directly attached to them, and static line jumps where you're connected to a line that's connected to your chute, and automatically deploys when you get a certain distance from the plane

alright, I'm up to episode 20 of Sailor Business and have only watched a few episodes of the show

but if they're gonna say that this is the weirdest episode of Sailor Moon then I am sitting down and watching this shit before listening to the podcast because what the fuck could that even mean in this context.

I haven't seen a single episode and am just going from vague memories from the 90s

    It is really fun

  • augustaugust where you come from is gone Registered User regular
    that was pretty great.

I don't know if I would have called it weird when compared to like the rest of Sailor Moon.

  • KilroyKilroy timaeusTestified Registered User regular
it's a very different kind of weird

I guess I kinda thought if you'd never done any jumps before the place was sort of obligated to send an instructor with you
    Guess not!

In fairness the latter two involve a lot more ground training than the tandem jump

Listening to Idle Thumbs I just kind of got the impression that they are just folks, talking aimlessly about videogames, but they don't have any particular depth or breadth to their knowledge? Just the impression I got. It just kind of meandered and I am not sure why I'd listen to them in particular over anyone else.

And that they don't like achievements... I guess?

They are in fact seasoned developers and a journalist

Two of the guys on the show were the creative directors of the first season of Telltale's Walking Dead, another worked at Double Fine for several years, and another works at Polygon

Neat! Though it doesn't really change that the entire content of the podcast felt very surface level.

I find that they talk more about the whys of game design and details I otherwise wouldn't have thought of. Giant Bombcast seems more surface-level to me, with the news recaps and whatnot. I like both!
